31. Mr. Ban should show us the law he's talking about
Hogwash   (09.10.09)
and where and when it was legislated, because as far as we know, no such "international" law exists. Israel isn't breaking any law, so unless you can come up with better and more practical arguments, you will be met with contempt by the intellligent Israeli public. we are not stupid hill billy's.
32. Jewish settlement has been here
Lioness ,   Israel   (09.10.09)
for over 3500 years and it is not going to stop!!!!!!
33. BAN MOON
ARCHIE ,   ALABAMA,USA   (09.10.09)
a shoe-shine boy from the midle east knows about this conflict better than Ban Moon, but somehow he is the appointed head of UN ! So it would be futile to remind him and other dip-sticks of (WORLD LEADERS) of historical and legal facts in these regards. worse, it would be self-defeating to isolate ourselves and not to respond to this CRAP. It is high noon that we come out of this box and rethink how to deal with millions of air-head that are sprouting every second, who are either not amenable to search for the truth or they know the truth but decidedly chose to be chumps. let us put our heads together on this.

How about freezing Palestinian construction in Judea and Samaria?
35. NO-They are NOT ILLEGAL ....
Ken ,   Tel Aviv   (09.10.09)
according to international law!!!!! Stupid man only regurgitates what the US pays him to say
36. Comparison doesnt make it legal
A Bethlehemite   (09.10.09)
Trying to say "welll what about this or that" doesnt change the issue at hand that these settlers are illegally squatting and stealing land, some private and building illegal settlements. What Mr. Moon is saying about international law are the UN sercurity council resolutions (446, 452, 465 and 471 etc) that the world voted them in confirming the illegality under international law of Israeli settlements in the West Bank and Gaza Strip. They also state the Geneva conventions apply to the WB & Gaza. The US also voted for these Resolution. It's just you guys who are lawless or clueless and are against justice and the rest of the world. Have a nice day
37. Concerned by Ban's one-sided and out of context statement
(09.10.09)
Settlements would be frozen once the Palestinians stop their incitement and terror. Israeli settlement freeze and Palestinian incitement and terror freeze are LINKED under the Road Map Let's see the Palestinians do a "trust-building step" BEFORE Israel, for once! Let's see them STOP incitement for more than 2 years and terror forever! Until that happens, Ban can bark, US and EU can moan and the Palestinians can cry all they want. The ball has always been in the proverbial Palestinian yard!
38. #36 Tell me, how many Christians have you expelled lately?
Emil ,   A Betlehemite too!   (09.10.09)
It's just you guys who are lawless or clueless, and are against justice and the rest of the world - as your own preachers who call for World Jihad against all non-Muslims, and practice terror! You must be a master of human rights too, especialy ever since you desecrated our beloved Nativity Church, used our Scriptures as toilet paper and our Priests as human shields! Have a "nice" day too!
39. "Illegal" - Here we go Again.....
Shmuel ,   Israel   (09.10.09)
It is about time Ban (and the rest of the U.N.) got the facts straight! The truth is that the so-called "occupied territories" were captured in 1967 as a result of a DEFENSIVE war against Jordan and Egypt, countries which had themselves illegally occupied them since 1948. It should be noted that a defensive war is a LEGAL means to acquire territory under international law. In fact, Israel's seizing the land in 1967 was the ONLY legal acquisition of the territory in the past century: the Jordanian occupation of the West Bank from 1947 to 1967, by contrast, had been the result of an offensive war in 1948 and was never recognized by the international community (with the exception of Great Britain and Pakistan), including the Arab states. Furthermore, it is Article 49 of the Fourth Geneva Convention that is commonly cited to accuse Israel of "Violating International Law". But an honest reading of Article 49 reveals that what it actually prohibits is "individual or mass forcible transfers" which are not happening in the territories under Israeli administration. Further, the Occupying Power is obliged not to "deport or transfer parts of its own civilian population" to territories under its control. The use of "deport" and "transfer" indicate that the Convention prohibits the Occupying Power from the active or forcible transfer of its own civilians. Article 49 does not require Israel to prevent voluntary settlement by its civilian population just because Arabs don't like it. Still further, all of this is without even considering the most important fact: The REAL illegal occupation was of the JEWISH homeland for 2000 years by various occupying powers including the Arabs. LEARN THE FACTS - STOP SPREADING THE BIG LIE!!

The Road Map was signed and approved by Israel and therefore has to be respected and applied. It seems you are reading a different Road Map.

The Israeli/Palestinian problem is 62years old and has to be solved first. You are just accusing Mr. Moon of incompetency inorder to continue occupying Palestinian lands and building illegal settlements.

Wrong
45. First, No Recognition=No Capital,No Country,
Roland Seener ,   London England   (09.10.09)
If Fateh is a different entity to Hamas, what area constitutes each one"s Capital ?How do they think that their determination on these points can lead to a satisfactory,(No "Hudna ",guaranteed agreement with Israel,to the satisfaction of all,and that includes all the members of the U.N.?.Impossible to kid ourselves ... Nothing doing !
46. Ban the Useless Nations.
Wise Saba ,   Netivot   (09.10.09)
Who cares what they say.
47. @Harold
Akiva ,   UK   (09.10.09)
Ah I see, you would like the so called "illegal occupation" to end, basically, for Judea and Samaria to become Judenrein, correct? After all, you and Ban Ki Moon are making this out to be the crux of the whole issue. Tell me then, what country is being "occupied"? Give me details on how land bought legally by Jews to live peacefully on "disturbs peace"? Make it known right here on Ynet why you believe that making Judea/Samaria Judenrein will do anything other than increase terrorism, as it did in the disengagement? We're all waiting.
48. Ban Ki Moon should stop intruding
Brod ,   USA   (09.10.09)
in Israel's internal affairs. Judea and Samaria are Israel's land since ancient time that Israel liberated from the Islamist-Jihadist occupiers in the 20th century. The UN should stop being a tool of the Islamist-Jihadist world.
