32.  Zionism Fuels Antisemitism?
#9 J Abramoff ,   Sydney Australia   (09.12.09)
You are wrong Mr Abramoff. Lean your histoery! Its Antisemitism that fueled Zionism and still does so. Thats why the Pals want to destroy Israel. Antisemitism is their driving force>
33. Another theory
Frank ,   Canada   (09.12.09)
At the end of the 19th century, European ideas penetrated the Muslim world and transformed the preexisting Muslim anti-Semitism.

Mickey ,   Adelaide Australia   (09.12.09)
Very few Jews are descendants of the Khazars. Jews remained homogenuous because there was little intermarriage wih the wider communities who pushed Jews into Ghettos anyway so there was little social contact . The so called Palestinians however are a mixture of European crusaders, Turks and others so their 'pure' semitic roots are very questionable
35. blame
Lisa   (09.12.09)
Islam is blaming Israel, the Jews, Zionism-for all the misery in the world, because: fanatical and extremist Islamists are incalpable, unable, helpless to get themselves out of the gutter they created themselves. It is always easier to blame others than their own incompetence. It takes the focus away from their own stupidity and imbecile 'logic'. The present generation of political leaders in Arab countries are whimpy spineless underdogs of crazy mullahs-. Religion and state must be separated- period.
36. #12: Palestinans the original inhabitants? Not so much.
5th generation ,   Israel   (09.12.09)
A fair share are descendents of migrant workers who flowed into Israel to take advantage of the budding Jewish economy in the early 1900s.
37. The defining question of Antisemitism
Alan Broffy ,   London   (09.12.09)
In response to the above article, I wish to make a fairly simple point. Semitic people are not Jews, and all jews are not semitic, therfore the form antisemitic does not exclusively apply to jews. Another fact to remember by the rest of the enlightened world - Once you stop your so called acts which you describe as wholly defensive and start conducting your lives on the basis of "Live and let Live" I am certain the so called Antisemites around the woeld will appreciate you more!! Stop dealing in double standards and as a result, try to convince the world that you are right. You are not!!

Dear Hallucinated simpleton It is because of lonely creatures like you that the multitude suffers. It is time you had a good long look in the mirror and made an important decision

Antisemitism is exclusively about prejudice to Jews.

I suppose you think Israel should have stood idly by while 8,000 rockets were fired from Gaza on Israel's South. Maybe you think Israel should have also stood by while PAL suicide bombers killed innocent children in Israel. Sorry thats not the live & let live Israel needs to 'live' by. Maybe you would like to live & let live under those circumstances?
41. #37antisemitism dosnt mean anti semitic people but anti jews

42. Classic anti-Christian defamation
Reggie ,   La Mesa USA   (09.13.09)
This rabbi writes: "For hundreds of years, the virulent form of anti-Semitism that is now endemic in the Islamic world has been the heritage of the Christian West. In Christianity, the Jews had a starring role: they were the killers of Christ, and some Christians believed that they reenacted this ultimate evil by drinking Christian blood every Passover." But this is not true. The rebbe should read, e.g., the book by Italian-Israeli academic Ariel Toaff, acknowledging that the allegations of Jewish ritual murder of Christians was actually true. Toaff's admissions are not news to Christian leaders, who centuries ago investigated the murder allegations, in the course of determining whether the victims should be canonized as saints. But, owing to the Church's desire to 'forgive and forget,' there has been a willingness to never speak of the ritual murders. This is the real noble character of Christians towards Jews, whom the rebbe defames but should rather honor. Many other books, often by Jewish academicians, reveal that antisemitism was not at all a Christian invention but was pervasive in antiquity, as in Ptolemaic Alexandria, under the Selucids, and in Parthia, . Josephus writes of it. The prophet Mani (2nd cent.) regarded Judaism as satanic. Even the Old Testament writes of the Nations' contempt for Jews. Does the name Haman ring a bell? Do Jews not know all this? Of course they do.

44. who to blame?
kate ,   atlanta USA   (09.20.09)
If there is anyone to be villified in poor Israels struggle it is the horrid Christians. The US is a Christian nation ( although B. Hussien O. would very much like to see that change) and the last I recall we were the ones wo annihalated Germany in the very rececent WWII
