1. The Jewish state, should not seek to make peace at any price
Ron B. ,   Lod   (09.15.09)
There is no hope for the Jewish state surviving in the nastiest neighborhood in the world if it presents itself as inwardly irresolute and unwilling to engage in war. The Arab adversary should always be fully aware that Israel is resolute, steadfast and more ready to wage war than agree to a fraudulent peace. If the Arab and Muslim world rejects Israel, it must live with the consequences of its enmity and become the ultimate loser. A Jewish state, which no longer seeks to make peace at any price will prosper and grow. It will also engender respect from both its friends and its enemies. 2. Bibi, the most cynical man the world has ever known
Nour ,   Palestine   (09.15.09)
"Netanyahu told Mitchell, "We extend our hand to the Palestinians in search of peace. We hope for prosperity and security in our region." Right - we extend our hand by declaring Jerusalem as "united eternal capital of Israel, by denying Israel's role in the Nakba and denying Pal's human right of return, by asking them to recognize Israel as a "Jewish nation despite its 20% Arab minority", and by asking them to give up the right to defend themselves. Oh and by telling them the details of this castrated, encircled state before negotiations even begin. Right, you're extending a hand all right, with the middle finger extended even longer. Grow up man. Choose, 2 viable states or 1 state solution. I personally prefer the latter, much more palatable and would bring back a united Palestine for all.
3. Mitchell will crumble
Rose Laken ,   Huntsville AL   (09.15.09)
Like a turd turning to dust in the rubbishbin of history. Another irrelevant frustrated Jew-hater, wasting everyone's time.
4. "Settlements are the REAL OBSTACLE".after100yrs of trying to

destroy Israel Jewish homeland! If anyone really believes this then theyll believe anything ..fairies. leprechauns,Santa,Tokoloshes Its just to keep postponing matters so the Demographic Solution in a one State Solution can kick in ... Unfortunately I believe EU and Obama Administration is into this solution in the long term.

7. LET'S HOPE NO MEETING EVER TAKES PLACE.
stude ham   (09.15.09)
all they're asking is that israel tear out its guts... and return the jewish people to the ghettos... which europe so handily invented many years ago. tell abbas and his arafatist companions... no part of jerusalem will ever be returned. and we will keep providing our people the spaces they need in which to live.
8. Stop all building now in WB and Jerusalem!.

9. If there is a single state........
Shlomo Kamra   (09.15.09)

10. #7 Lebensraum
Observer ,   Jerusalem   (09.15.09)
anonymous #7 writes: "we will keep providing our people the spaces they need in which to live" So far you have provided Golan and the West Bank (Jerusalem, Judea and Samaria). What's next? The East Bank of Jordan? Eretz Israel between Eufrat and the Nile? "we will keep providing our people the spaces they need in which to liveā€¦" Why not use the well established and much shorter German term "Lebensraum"?
11. Addendum. Sorry "stude ham"!
Observer ,   Jerusalem   (09.15.09)
Sorry, the proponent of "Lebensraum im Osten" was not anonymous as I claimed in an earlier entry. He goes under the name "stude ham".
12. Why Juedenrein
SF2OAK ,   Oakland, USA   (09.15.09)
Why should "Palestine" or whqatever they will call a new palestinian state be judenrein? I can see how this new state will be based on priciples of equality. The arabs that live in Israel can certainly vote with their feet, wonder why it is that they stay, maybe because where they would be welcome isn't very nice...hmmm. Why should Israel give up land to people that don't even recognize her? What are the palestinians giving up to get the aid of the world, what are they contributing to the world?

why nasty? because he is doing everything to swarth the arab final solution??? because he brilliantly leads israel??? he is the only one that has enough common sense and experience to shove his middle finger into the arab faces and mean it. israel will pay nothing for anything. it will continue to thrive, advance, get rich, invent, get nobel prozes, contribute medically and technologically to the world and humanity, while the surrounding countries will collapse from poverty, misery, riots and opression. hameed aboughaze, iranian

nour. learn history first. the palestinian naqba as well as their deplorable conditions is a result of 7 arab armies which warned them while attacking the new jewish state to leave their homes and then imprisoned them in ghettos and refujee camps and used them as an endless political football against israel. also don't underestimate netanyahou. he is probably the slyest and most brilliant politician in the mid east region. he knows your pal number. he has experience with your palestinians and knows what they want, what they are all about and what their aspirations are. history has taught the israeli leaders that for the past 100 years. netanyahou will never give up jerusalem, a jewish city for the past 4,000 years with archeological evidence unearthed each year to prove it. never has there been an arab or palestinian artifact unearthed in israel proper. never. never a palestinian artifact at all. there was never a palestinian nation, in case you are unaware. there was ottoman empire, then british and french rule. all surrounding countries except egypt and saudi arabia were 20th century creations by the super powers of that time. a palestinian nation never existed not then and not now. netanyahou as well as the world is very aware of this part of history. palestinians nurtured since arafat by the lies propagated on them were for political purpose only. period! you will never see jerusalem given to arabs because we know what happened in east jerusalem before we got it. no jew was allowed there. none! now, all religions can practice and enjoy jerusalem under autonomous israeli rule. this is the only way to insure it is not destroyed by the arabs as they did the kotel when it was in jorda's hands. all of us can enjoy jerusalem and know that israel is the only one that took time and resources to beautify it for everyone. before, under arab rule, it was a pig sty where they arabs showed profound disrespect for churches and synagogues in east jerusalem and where camel and donkey dung accumulated by the western wall. shame on you! and where jewish graves' stones were used to pave roads in east jerusalem, descecrating jewish graves and cmeeteries that have been there for hundreds and thousands of years. shame on you! hameed aboughaze, iranian
15. To: No. 2 and No. 8
Sarah B ,   New York City, USA   (09.16.09)
Each and every one of the thirty or so Palestinian organizations purporting to be the true "representatives" of the Palestinian people have in common one thing: each of their charters calls for the destruction of the State of Israel and the extermination of the Jews. Unless and until these organizations recognize the State of Israel and acknowledge the right of the State of Israel to exist in its ancient homeland with Jerusalem as its eternal capital, there will be no negotiations. Period. Full stop. You might want to ask yourself, Nour, exactly what is it that Palestinian intransigence has garnered for you. That said, you probably do realize that the Palestinians have been the architects of their misery. Not Israel's fault, and Israel will not pay the price for sixty-one years of poor choices on the part of the Palestinians. Can't put toothpaste back into the tube, Nour. Should have jumped at the two-state offer in 1947. And twice since. But no, rejected out of hand each time. Oh well. Hindsight is always 20/20, Nour, isn't it?
