1. @Hala Mustafa,... be strong.
S.   (09.17.09)
There is supposed to be peace between Israel and Egypt and that means that people from Egypt and Israel can meet each other without being harassed. Do not bend towards the demands of hateful people. Do not twist the truth. I wish you well in exposing all other Egyptians meeting with their neighbours in peace. Truth should be told. It's time for real peace. Do not let hate mongers take over the world!!!
2. Journalist Protest

Journalists making policy instead of reporting it ? What happened to journalistic freedom ?
3. Shame on the Egyptian Journalists Assoc...
Rafi ,   US   (09.17.09)
... and Makram Mohammed Ahmed, head of the association, who are perpetuating HATE rather than reconcilliation. It was similar "professional" groups in Egypt who resisted Anwar Sadat's peace outreach to Israel - despite its initial popularity with the Egyptian masses. They worked steadily - and largely successfully - to poison the atmosphere over time. If and when there is further bloodshed in the region, these groups should accept their share of responsiblity and be the last to whine about "Israeli aggression, etc".
4. I tought we had a "peace" agrement with Egypt ?
Charles ,   Petach Tikva   (09.17.09)
It look's that i'm wrong . Or is this "peace" agrement only there to have Israeli tourists who bring their $$$$$ ?
5. Thanks for the laugh
Moshico ,   Israel   (09.17.09)
There is a magazine in Egypt called "Democracy"....really? What's next... a pali magazine called "being human" Or a Saudi magazine called "using my brains to make something and not just my oil" Or an Iraqi magazine called "Trucks are used for ferrying goods and not to blow up innocent people" Or Arab women's magazine called "Inside our burkhs we are free"
6. Egyptian reporter

Mustafa should be dismissed and stripped of all his journalistic credentials. He has committed an act of sedition against Egypt and the Arab Nation, if not outright treason.
7. To TB# 5, Moshico
Billy ,   Burlington, Canada   (09.17.09)
I think you feel much better now about yourself by being a snop looking down towards "Arabs" Mr Moshico!!! Big applause!! Well, what you've written is unrelated to the subject as you might know. I bet you'll write same comments on any other article no matter what. Let me give you some little advice! Your attitude is not that different from the anti-normalization bodies in Egypt! Both of you is part of the problem with different degrees of course! Would you please try to cheer up & have a positive attitude instead of being a snop, negative & passive? Thanks Mr. Moshico.
8. To: Charles at No. 4
Sarah B ,   New York City, USA   (09.17.09)
Sadly, Charles, there is no "peace" between Israel and Egypt. Israel needed to cull Egypt from the herd, and gave up the Sinai for it. But it isn't "peace," but rather merely a cessation of hostilities. Sooner or later, we will have to deal with Egypt, and everybody knows it.
9. He looks SO jewish!

You hit the nail on the head, unfortunately. You forgot to mention the self-proclaimed "Religion of Peace", though.

# 5 I liked your post - you´re very funny # 10 re "Religion of Peace" Is this an oxymoron or wht? " Y'allah Y' allah!! If you don´t agree with Allah, I kill you!! I will cut you "peace by peace" Are these people humans?
12. Sarah , 8 . you have'nt to tell it , i know
Charles ,   Petach Tikva   (09.18.09)
But a "no war" situation is better than nothing .

Go Hala and ignore those babbling voices! Are those journalists adopting something different than the official policy of Egypt? Egypt has signed a peace treaty with Israel long time ago. There is an Egyptian political representation in Israel and there is an Israeli political representation in Cairo. El Al, Israeli airlines, has 4 regular flights between Cairo and Tel Aviv. Similarly, Air Sinai (Egypt Air’s child company) is flying regularly between Cairo and Tel Aviv. Are those commercial flights operating without passengers? If the answer is (yes) for Air Sinai, it is definitely (no) for El Al. The presence of air services simply means that there are passengers flying regularly between Cairo and Tel Aviv for various reasons: tourism, commerce, business, and politics. Air traffic statistics could easily reveal that there are some considerable stakeholders supporting the idea of normalization between Egypt and Israel. Anyway, what could be wrong with normalization? What could be the problem of those demagogical journalists trying to depose one of their fellow journalists? I would say that they are simply envious of Dr. Hala Mustafa’s academic and career achievements. After all, for an ambassador to come to a journalist is NOT that normal. What is normal is for the journalist to go to the ambassador. I am quite sure that the recent appointment of Dr. Abdel-Moneim Said as the Director General of Al-Ahram Foundation implies obvious changes in the newspaper’s policy. After being the senior chief of the most prestigious political think-tank in the Arab world for many years, Dr. Said definitely has some progressive thoughts about what is happening around the world in general and in his new kingdom in particular.
