Are you "winding us up" saying Crocs are reptile skin?!!! Oh come on, that's the brand name of these particular sandals that are very comfortable, and are made from a natural substance. You're a Silly Billy.
35. What CAN Be Worn That's Not Comfy?
Christy ,   Boston, US   (09.26.09)
- Non-leather shoes that don't fit? - Wooden shoes? - Rags? - Shoes with rocks or nails in them? - Shoes made of concrete or steal? Except for high heels, I can't think of any non-leather shoe a person would have that's uncomfortable. Unless, of course, you buy uncomfortable shoes on purpose for just that day. Note: I'm not in any way trying to disparage this rabbi or denounce the point he's making for his followers. I'm just curious if men would have uncomfortable shoes on hand. Women usually do have at least one pair of uncomfortable shoes because it's hard to find some styles that are comfortable. (I find most heels uncomfortable if they have to be worn for long periods of time.)

39. HE SAID IT WAS "PERMISSIBLE"
Lemmings Hotline ,   sd usa   (09.27.09)
You misunderstood the ruling. He said it was inadvisable. Advice, is what he gave to the Yeshiva student that visited him. The psak is what everyone follows. If you are a person who wont be physically damaged, by your suffering like our young sapling here, then gezunter heit. go suffer. If you have feet and back issues that cause lasting disability, then , maybe you would get different advice from our Torah Sage.
40. What A Crock!
Ginette Golden ,   Toronto, Canada   (09.27.09)
YNet finally did it! I laughed as much about the article as I laughed at the talkbacks...Can't decide yet which was more hilarious to read. On second thought, the talkbacks are priceless and I too almost spilled my coffee. Now I have to start my "Yom Kippur cooking" and tomorrow I will think at all the food I can't eat. Safe Yom Kippur to all!
41. Crocs
Ari Levine ,   New York, USA   (09.27.09)
This is an issue of Pikuach Nefesh. Should not wearing comfortable shoes leave you with lasting consequences Motzae Yom Kippur. At least they are not leather
42. What a disgusting article
Michoel@Chareidio ,   Jerusalem   (09.28.09)
What a disgusting article. If framed fairly, the story could have read- Torah sage permits Crocs on Yom Kippur though cautions their comfort may not be ideal. Instead you write in a way that incites hatred, and makes a very respected leader and an unbelievably caring person in the religious community look bad. I'm sure you'll get lots of clicks for it. Congratulations.
43. The final news: Everyone wore Croks.
Lemmings Hotline ,   sd usa   (09.29.09)
I was at a major Yeshiva in Israel this YK. I saw Gedolai israel and everyone else wearing Kroks. There is obviously some misunderstanding here on exactly what decree was issued by whom.
44. Crocs.
Etta Pravda. ,   N.Y. N.Y.   (09.29.09)

45. Now they are dictating to us what to wear
Avi ,   israel   (09.29.09)
Just a matter of time before the religious start dictating to poople what to wear. Whats next the modesty squad arresting people?
46. Ugly Crocs
Annelina ,   Goteborg, Sweden   (09.30.09)
Who the hell would want to wear these ugly monstrosities on their feet anyway? They are vile!
47. to comfortable
adi   (11.07.09)
If thats the case I would be best off wearing my hard, heeled leather shoes
48. who's dictating?
chaim ,   dunwoody   (09.05.18)
