According to radio news reports in Jerusalem, the tourists who were attacked were FRENCH CHRISTIANS. Muslim "worshipers" attacked them and so the police rushed in to protect the tourists. The police are always there for several reasons: 1) to prevent Jews from praying at the Jewish Temple Mount (under agreement between the secular govt of Israel and the Islamic Waqf 2) to prevent outbursts from radicals at a sensitive location and 3) to keep the order when Muslim "worshipers" follow their traditions of violence towards any and all Infidels (and towards each other). Eight policemen were HOSPITALIZED. I can't wait for the usual reports of "peaceful Palestinean protesters"...
