The war was ended the way it was because Israeli government could no longer endure the missile barrage on the North of the country and was worried Hezbollah might use longer range missiles to hit Tel-Aviv. Missiles may not necessarily win wars but unfortunately, if the next conflict does result in the carpet bombing of Tel Aviv and other areas of Israel's heartland, they will provoke a wave of flight from Israel by its own nationals such as the country has never known before.
