31. Double Standard
Fritjof Lilienhammer ,   Copenhagen, Denmark   (10.10.09)
Again we see the Islamic double standard: the president of Iran and his underlings have repeatedly said Israel should be destroyed, wiped off the map and the pages of history (anyone remember 'ausradiert'?) but if an Israeli talks about defending his or her country or pre-empting that Iranian attack, then poor Iran turns to the UN to complain. It's like criminals running to the police when victims turn out to be armed and shoot back.
32. Isreals plan
antony j brown sr ,   corydon indiana usa   (10.10.09)
Don't count on the U.N. or the U.S. anymore, they are as impotant as a neutered dog. They appease rogue nations and terrorist, while civilians and solders die, even ours. They sell peace, but the extremist won't buy.
33. Iran: Israel's threats inexplicable
david b ,   phoenix usa   (10.10.09)
Has the world gone insane? For how many years have we heard from Iran how they want to obliterate Israel? Uh, it seems to me like every week I see more blabber from Iran about how they want to wipe out Israel. And now, are you kidding me, Iran wants the spineless UN to take steps against Israel because of some comments from Israel? Let's not waste any more time. Push the button and lets get this over with.
34. isrealy threats
george ,   frederick USA   (10.10.09)
daily threats from isreal to iran only shows who the agressor is. and with their WMD and past behavior towards their neighbors who could blame iran if they did build a bomb
35. Explicable
Loki ,   Memphis USA   (10.10.09)
I used to hear the same kinds of threats in the 'hood where I grew up. Somebody was always threatening to burn down the gas station if anyone bought any thing else from them or if we sold them anything. Blah! Blah! Blah! Went on forever. He finally went out of business so everyone thought they would now be safe from the evil gasoline seller. Ya know what, the guy that was always telling everyone to boycott bought the store and started selling gasoline! It was all a trick! Not the good gas either! The cheap poison the screws up your car and is even worse for the environment than the old gas!
36. Too late, my friends
Yarza Nabuf ,   Leopard, NJ   (10.10.09)
I think we're already too late to stop the Iranian tiger. The world had a chance to snuff the beast when it was a cub. Now, because of the ineptitude and inaction of the UN and world leadership, the beast is nearly full-grown. Even if Israel is, by the grace of God, untouched, a nuclear-capable Iran will bring much suffering to the world. After all, Ahmadinejad believes his destiny is to reveal the hidden imam. He WILL use Iran's weapons to this end. Weakness and sanctions have gained the world nothing.
37. Israel I am SO SORRY
Deb ,   Florida, USA   (10.10.09)
I am not a Jew. I am a Catholic and a staunch supporter of the State of Israel. I am sorry my country chose an obvious anti-Semite as president. It is important for you to know that in the USA, the polarization is stark; you either hate Obama or love him. There is no in-between, and that should speak volumes. Not since Vietnam, or perhaps the American Civil War has our country been so polarized. I bring this up because you need to know that at least half of us (and perhaps more) support you. Iran needs to be stopped, and I hate to say it, but B Hussein Obama, unlike his predecessor, will leave you to go it alone. Now that BHO has "won" the Nobel Peace Prize (I laughed about this for several hours this morning, considering Arafat received the same award) he will be ham-strung to execute any form of military might. I suspect he will leave our US troops in Afghanistan without reinforcements to live up to his "great reward" as a global peacemaker. Good soldiers will die because this chronically selfish little man has no soul. There is no doubt about it, you are officially alone. Take some solace in the fact that Bibi is not testicularly challenged like the effete one in the White House. The world as I knew it has gone mad. Our president kisses the asses of our enemies, and insults our Allies. Domestically, he has spent trillions of dollars that are ultimately beholdent to the Chinese, and as we move into double digit unemployment, Obama proposes a wealth of hidden taxes that will destroy small business and cripple the middle class once and for all. It is a nightmare over here, and if I could take what is left of my assets and move someplace like Australia, I would do it. That comes from a red white and blue American Patriot that is HORRIFIED to see my country RUINED by the likes of Obama and his Communist (yes, I said communist) minions. Good luck, Israel. You are going to need it.
38. Myths about Iran
Arek ,   San Diego, USA   (10.10.09)
Belief: But didn't President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad threaten to 'wipe Israel off the map?' Reality: President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad did quote Ayatollah Khomeini to the effect that "this Occupation regime over Jerusalem must vanish from the page of time" (in rezhim-e eshghalgar-i Qods bayad as safheh-e ruzgar mahv shavad). This was not a pledge to roll tanks and invade or to launch missiles, however. It is the expression of a hope that the regime will collapse, just as the Soviet Union did. It is not a threat to kill anyone at all. http://www.lewrockwell.com/spl/10-lies-about-iran.html
39. Israel
Mike ,   Emerald Coast, USA   (10.10.09)
My prayer is that El Shaddai will watch over Israel and bless her.
40. reality check
richard tomao ,   milford mass usa   (10.10.09)
Inexplicable that Israel must exercise good judgement in the defense of their country? Our USA alliance with Israel is not what it used to be, all prizes aside. Bush Senior applauded the destruction of the Iraq nukes. as he publicly decryed it for International consumption With Obama in office, Israel is essentially on their own regardless of the soft shoe shuffler word manager. Iran just made threats to strike at the heart of Israel and the further follow up is described as inexplicable? I have never witnessed Israeli hostility towards the people of Iran, who are good and oppressed by their government. It is a problematic situation. Israelis know it better than me. Let's see, a surgical strike by Israel invites Iran to destroy the heart of israel. Was that not and is it not their objective anyway? I live in the US. I know the US supports Israel in words only, but in this administration, never will In action. I hate to speak the truth because I do not want it, but Israel, you are on your own. Act. And God Speed!
41. Attack Iran??? How??
Larry ,   Heidelberg, Germany   (10.10.09)
I would really like to see this. How will the IAF get thee through US controlled airspace or hostile foreign airspeace? Oh yeah, I forgot, they have dual national dupes in places of power in Turkey and Georgia... What happens if Iran has aquired some of those pesky little S-300's? Want a hint? The IAF will be blown from the sky. Iran isn't Jericho and I don't think God is on your side this time.
42. Why Wait Till Christmas? A Christian Festival!

43. isreal needs an enima
b sanvoid ,   usa   (10.10.09)
isreal cannot go around threating other countries. under the bush doctrine, iran would have every reason to attack isreal first. hey jew people in isreal go back to making porn,,, it is what you do best
44. Christmas
Susie Hommacher ,   Sterling, USA   (10.10.09)
Jews do not even believe in Christmas. What is going on here?
45. Iran and Threats?
Wil ,   FL, USA   (10.10.09)

47. Iran Israel
Dorthy Perkins ,   Canada   (10.10.09)
Israel needs to protect her people from the evil regime in Iran.
48. the financial scoop....ignored as usual
zeev ,   nyc   (10.10.09)
1) obama's foreign policy is controlled by the banks and the military . ' BANKS: bombing iran = oil price goes up, punishing the dollar, pushing up equities and gold prices while bonds crash. this is the IDEAL situaition for america's big banks: MILITARY: a bombing of iran only empowers the u.s military, there is no downside. at all. 2) the real players holding israel back are russia and china. russia is predictable and unswayable, thus irrelevant. but israel NEEDS chinese cooperation for its long term economic health. this bears repeating: IT NEEDS CHINA. does china want to prevent israel from attacking iran? this is the question. and i have no answer: it is a difficult question to answer. 3) israel's ultimatum to the u.n. is not geniune. israel knows that the u.n. is not placing sanctions on one of the worlds largest oil producers, as this would be akin to shooting themselves in the financial foot. the ultimatum is a farce, and has NOTHING to do with israel's weighing a decision to attack iran. if the 1% chance that the u.n. places sanctions on iran materializes, then it will be far easier for israel to bomb iran if iran is under sanctions 4) I feel it noteworthy to point out that israel's tremendous global relevance comes from it ability to upset a very delicate and unstable balance in the unstable middle eastern oil producing countries. it is a global financial balance if the countries of the world want oil at a reasonable price, they better make sure that the countries selling oil to them aren't threatening to destory israel with missiles that will target tel aviv. , as an american i must point out that the american oil consuming public needs to start accepting that their oil consuming behavior ( consuming 25% of the worlds oil with 5% of worlds population) is largely responsible for empowering iran, which , ironically, empowers israel .
49. Stopping Iran
David ,   New York   (10.10.09)
If Israel wants to stop Iran, hit them where it really hurts. Destroy their oil-producing infrastructure. Without income from oil, Iran will lack the capital to complete their nuclear program. It take billions to go nuclear and they still need income to run the country. Iran can't afford to loose their oil income. All their economic eggs are in one basket

52. vicarious machismo
Mike ,   Hong Kong   (10.10.09)
You guys are hilarious-- a bunch of armchair soldiers "supporting" Israel from the comfort of your keyboards. Sanctions would be silly. They wouldn't hurt the mullahs nearly as much as they'd hurt the pro-Western Iranian middle classes. But I'm assuming Israel is just trying to strong-arm the West into supporting the sanctions. If Israel actually does attack, they may turn "wipe Israel off the map" into a reality. Because a) Iran 2009 isn't nearly as weak as Iraq 2003; and b) Israel 2009 isn't nearly as strong as USA 2003-- i.e., they can't throw the troop numbers or weapons sophistication at the problem that the USA did; and c) Iran will have the capacity to strike back at Israel. There is absolutely no way an Israeli attack on Iran will go well for either country... but it will be worse for Israel in the long run than it will be for Iran. I'm long oil, in any case.
53. What is Iran worried about?
Christopher ,   Anchorage, USA   (10.10.09)
What I don't fully understand is that all this time Iran keeps saying that they will destroy Israel. They are going to remove them from the face of the earth. That if Israel attacks, it will be then end of the Jewish people. So, they threaten all they want, soon as Israel says were going to attack you, they run to the biggest group of losers that call themselves the UN. All I can say to Iran is, if you can't back up what you talk, then stop talking. Play with the big boys, or get off the sidewalk.
54. Iran: Israel's threats inexplicable
Tony L ,   Atlanta Ga   (10.10.09)
Israel is a danger to the world peace. Israel has nuclear weapons and makes threats against all it's neighbors in the middle east. Israel is only country which has defied so many resolutions in the UN and is in violation. It's the only nation which has killed innocent children and has attacked UN compound numerous times. It is the only country occupying illegal territory and building illegal settlements. This nation is a expansionist state and will continue to make wars to capture more land for it's expansion. The neighbors of Israel will continue to pursue for nuclear weapons until Israel is forced to get rid of their nuclear weapons.
55. Iran: Israel's threats inexplicable
Tony L ,   Atlanta Ga   (10.10.09)
Iran's dumb and stupid leader has made blank threats against Israel. I hope Israel is only making blank threats as well. Because if the war breaks out by Israel or US attacking Iran, all hell is going to break loose in Iraq, Israel, Afghanistan and all over and price of barrel of oil will hit over $400. With this economy, we may be repeating a mistake like an Iraq war except 10 times worst. No weapons of mass destruction in Iraq and now No Nuclear weapons in Iran. Just US is fighting wars all over the world for Israel.
56. Makes sense!!!!
Dave Wilson ,   US   (10.10.09)
"Remarks such as these, stated once in a while by Israeli leaders, are no more than sorry excuses aimed at avoiding supplying answers regarding Israel's nuclear arsenal and deflecting public awareness from the crimes and terror Israel commits in the region," "the only threat in the region is Israel's nuclear arsenal, which remains unsupervised to this day". Enough double standards. Either a Middle East free of weapons of mass destruction or every one should have the right to nukes. No if, but or maybe about this.
57. Israel will atttack
bob reynolds ,   orange park US   (10.10.09)
Any attack on Iran will be a violation of international law and a crime against humanity. The continued threats by Israel to bomb Iran are sufficient to allow Iran to make a preemptive attack on Israel. The US should stop defending Israel by using the veto in the Security Council. If anyone should be sanctioned it is Israel for its belligerence, its war crimes, its refusal to abide by UN resolutions, and for its threat to peace in the middle east.
58. Iran
Pierre Moeller ,   Warwick,USA   (10.10.09)
I pray for the Nation of Israel and for Gods people. I will support you in whatever you feel it necessary to do. The world waited to long to stop Hitler, do not wait too long here my friends to stop this murderer in Iran. You must follow your own path, America is no longer able to help you because our leaders no longer believe in God. Israel is now the last, best hope for all the peoples of the world. As Israel goes, so goes mankind.
59. Please!
Iarry a ,   seattle, U.S.A.   (10.10.09)
