It's funny that most of these comments avoid the obvious issue - Israel has hundreds if not thousands of nuclear weapons...their facilities have never been inspected. Israel is not complying with international agreements yet it moans and complains constantly. They say they want peace yet they undermine the peace process at every turn (settlements, targeted killings, starvation via blockade etc). Thanks to Mr. Vanunu, an Israeli scientist who exposed their nuclear weapons program, we now know that Israel has many dangerous weapons. But no one wants to mention this, just like no one wants to mention that Iran never said it would "wipe Israel off the map". That was a mistranslation and the Israelis know it well, but most people in this country are too frivolous to do their own investigation, they just swallow the propaganda. If Israel bombs Iran it will be with the tacit or explicit consent of the US. Everyone with a brain knows that we have Israel on a leash despite the recent settlement "dispute" which was just a song and dance for the benefit of the Israeli public. If Iran is bombed there will be chaos. When oil prices are sky high and you can't find food on the shelf don't come crying to the hated big government to save you.

It is in fact "our" world, not sure what reality you live in. If we don't try to be the world's police force who will be? We shouldn't need local law enforcement either, but we do. It is easy to be a civilized person and good neighbor but for some reason it is harder for some. When has Israel threatened to wipe a country off the map? How many contributions to democracy, science, technology, etc has Israel contributed in the last 60 yrs? When those outside of Israel do not agree to a non-proliferation treaty they're treated with kids gloves, even though Iran is fighting a proxy war against the USA in Iraq - but you question Israel who has proven time and time again an ally of the West, and the ONLY democracy in that entire region. As time moves forward now, just like a ball going down a hill, things will progress rapidly into the abyss. Iran is Hitler only 70 years later. The UN is a useless vassal. Nor are Iran's assurances that her nuclear program is for "peaceful" purposes, and her continued accusations that Israel of "deflecting public awareness from the crimes and terror Israel commits in the region". The other side of the story is what would Israel accomplish by attacking Iran's nuclear sits? this will not "denuclearize" Iran as her nuclear scientists and technology will be intact to kick start the program, and such an action would prompt Iran to take drastic actions such as bombing the straits of Homuz. The problem here is that the UN did not act in a timely manner when Iran's nuclear program was at its beginning. Now it is too late to do anything outside of a full scale elimination of sites, scientists, technology and the regime supporting it.

This Baptist could not have said it better. Isreal, I too regret that you do not have the American President's support. You do however have the peoples support. We may not be able to send you troops, but we can send what money the government hasn't taken from us. I do this each month and will continue to do so until my death. Israel HAS to act to ensure it's own safety!! Excellent point, Michael. I knew I wasn't the only one that sees the illogic in Irans protest about Israel's "threats". Honestly, I will be AMAZED if Ban Ki-moonin takes any steps "against such comments" (Israel's) and not against Iran's; for they've been worse offenders when it comes to reckless comments. Anyone should see that this protest is dumbfounding.
