I agree with you 150 percent. The overwhelming majority of the countries represented in the United Nations are ruled by corrupt officials, are theocracies, out and out dictatorships. Genocide is commonplace in so many of these countries, and no one ever hears about it. The carnage throughout Africa goes beyond obscene, and no one does anything about it. When initially founded, the United Nations represented a positive force for change in the world, but then it and its purposes got hijacked by a group of nations whose interests did not extend to improving conditions in their respective countries. They were most certainly not interested in promoting health, welfare or democratic principles, or any positive change for that matter. Were it not for the fact that there are so many people throughout the world who live in desperate circumstances and whose cry for help is simply ignored by the one body created to help them, it would be downright amusing to watch the machinations of these "diplomats." But there is so much suffering -- real suffering -- and there is nothing funny about that. That is a tragedy. I wish that Israel would unilaterally withdraw from the United Nations -- it has the added benefit of immediately rendering null and void all resolutions passed against Israel.
