George - Lets look at the facts here :- Hezbollah is now part of the government of Lebanon. Aside from the fact that they have openly stated that they will continue to arm despite 1701. They have admitted to acquiring more missiles than they had before the 2006 war and that they have now changed their demands that even if Sheba Farms are returned they are looking for Israels destruction. More so the recent unexplained "explosions" which have killed a number of people have been met with relative silence by UNIFL. The terms of 1701 whereby UNIFL together with the Lebanese security being the sole armed personel in the south , have also been ignored with many villages not allowing these troops to enter. So George - before you get on your high horse about tiny rude states perhaps you should emigrate from your safe haven where you can live in peace and freedom and move to a place that is experiencing 1000 missiles per year being dropped on your head (no binding security council resolutions on that one either) and see how mannered you will be in your outlook. .

Actually you are wrong. The UN passed a resolution partitioning what was part of the Palestinian Mandate into a home for Jews and one for Arabs. However, when it did so (and I was there at the time) I got the impression that they knew the Arab armies would invade (they did) and succeed in wiping out the Jews thus providing a Final Solution to the Jewish problem. The armies failed, even though Jordan's army led by a British officer took Jerusalem.

John, the State of Israel has respected and fully comported with the Hague First, Second and Fourth Conventions, to which it is a signatory. The Hague Conventions, which are essentially treaties which must be ratified, are legally binding upon the nations which are signatories. United Nations resolutions are not legally binding and are unenforceable. So what is your problem? Maybe it is high time you took YOUR head out of the sand, or are you to bound up in your anti-Israel sentiment to be able to do that?
