With out questioning IDF officers the world will never have complete answers in Gaza, with Goldstone being the only real source of information. Is the government trying to protect IDF or the government itself? The Goldstone report will most likely go to ICC after UNGA vote and this will hurt IDF officers more than Government, only a commission of inquiry into the Gaza war will stop it.

Maybe the question should be why the IDF had to go into Gaza at all. 8 years of cross-border attacks, a soldier kidnapping and a relentless rocket campaign by Hamas only warranted 9 pages out of 575 in the Goldstone report. I'd like to see that question answered first.

Basically once a war starts, it is inevitably going to get out of control and it's going to become unethical. There is no way around this basic premise. This is why the focus is on war avoidance. If investigations are wanted, it would be more fruitful to see how much effort was made by both parties to avoid this situation and to recreate circumstances and see other ways around, etc.

But when Hamas combatants hide out in mosques and schools and hospitals and shoot IDF from them, isn't it reasonable to go after the terrorists who has terrorized Isaelis for many years, wherever they are, to protect Israel from such attackers? If there is no fear of consequences, the enemies of Israel will attack with impunity. The UN is so biased against America and Israel that we should pull out and kick them out of New York City where UN diplomats rape and kill and commit all sorts of crimes against Americans without being prosecuted because of diplomatic immunity. NOW, there are MILLIONS of foreigners in America with diplomatic immunity commiting crimes without being prosecuted. At the tiny US Navy Naval Air Station in Lemoore, California, there are so many crimes such as rape of children and wives and women in the military and female civilian employees that I was told by one of the rape crisis counselors who worked there that there are three full time rape crisis counselors at NAS Lemoore! WHY OH WHY ISN'T THE UN INVESTIGATING THE CRIMES OF THOSE WHO REPRESENT IT IN AMERICA????? WHY OH WHY ISN'T NATO INVESTIGATING THE CRIMES OF FOREIGN TROOPS IN AMERICA? The German Luftwaffe flies cover over American cities because it is more certain they will shoot down airliners that are hijacked than US military pilots would. All wars that Israel has waged have been just, forced upon it by the Arab leaders. War involves life-and-death situations; mistakes are made and innocents inevitably die. But in maintaining our moral standards, we should never forget that the IDF is an army of the people and we are also obliged to ensure that we do not go to the other extreme and endanger the lives of our soldiers by preventing them from defending themselves. 1. Ignore this stupid report, and 2. Quit the UN. Israel's need to "be accepted" by the world community can be suicidal if what it takes to "be accepted" runs contrary to our need to survive. Let's face it. There are many nations out there who want us to disappear from the face of the Earth. Nothing would make them happier then if Israel and the Jews would evaporate into thin air. For them (and the UN) to "be accepted" will be for us to be all Baptised, shipped to the Moon or die. Fools like Mr. S. Peres and his ilk, have no idea what it really means to be a "Jewish" (he thinks it means to speak Hebrew) and are willing for us to disappear from history - as long as we were "accepted".
