Of course that if Israeli law also acknowledges the fact will be nice, but in any case Jerusalem is G-d's Capital and the Capital of the Jewish people, and not the only holy place like the first talkback suggest. Non-Jews are not eligible for Aliyah. If you have certain religious beliefs you are disqualified. I am a non-Jew with a love for Israel and Jerusalem. It is central to my faith and love for my creator. I would gladly emigrate to Israel, and serve in the IDF but I am not allowed.

Jerusalem is a city holy to three religions and as such all three religions should have the freedom to worship there. However, religion aside for the moment, on a more practical level Jerusalem is the capital of two people - Israelis and Palestinians. I think it will be quite fitting that, as an commitment to peace, both Israelis and Palestinians will share Jerusalem as their capital cities as part of a future peace agreement.

If you read the old testament you will also see that G-D asked Israel to make him a house of worship which king Solomon built. Why do muslims pray with their backs towards Jerusalem if it is so religiously important to them and pray towards Meca. G-D never broke the covenent he made with Israel, even though he punished them he has brought them back. Neither the Muslims, or anyone else will take them away from Jerusalem.

I'd love to be there, but I'm a Christian and not eligible for citizenship. Christians believe we are commanded in the Bible to pray for Israel, bless the Jews, and pray for the Peace of Jerusalem. We can do this wherever we are. If I were there I'd politically support anyone who would stop giving away Israeli land.
