31. # 26 & 28 accidental porn sites
Lena ,   Israel   (11.03.09)
To all those who say it's not possible to get into a porn site accidently I want to say that in my experience it's very easy. When you do an internet search - if it's a word that has associations with porn and if your internet is NOT filtered your search will bring up a good selection of porn sites. If you are a native English speaker you can recognise them and not go in. But in Israel a lot of kids will not spot this and will not take the time & trouble to read and look up every work before they jump into the site and then they come face to face with some pretty hard porn images. Remember a picture is printed in your mind for a long time. Is that what people want to happen to their kids? For example I was with a friend who was searching for the Israel postal service website (post.il) and before she knew what was happening she had gone into a gay porn site (postillion position) - now as adults we just had a good laugh. But think about children/ young teens seeing it. It can happen all too easily

certain people. Whether you have a "filter" is absolutely meaningless. As a human being with common sense, it is not difficult to tell what may or may niot be porn. If one wants to find it, one will find it. Otherwise, if one believes it might be porn, all that is required is the use of the "DELETE" button. Poof, no more porn. Problem is, there are those who must make mountains out of molehills.

You're correct, and I don't think some people realize there are porn sites that deliberately create domain names very similar to sites that are frequently accessed by children in the hopes that an innocent error will direct a child to one of these sites. In fact, I had an interesting experience when I intended to access a well-known shopping site that goes under the name of the woman who founded the company. But when I mistakenly spelled the woman's name so that it was off by one letter, I ended up on a porn site, which obviously used that nearly identical name to the shopping site in the hopes of attracting customers who might possibly make the same error. But, as an adult, I immediately understood what had happened. However, this is a way in which children can inadvertently end up on websites that I daresay most parents would never want them to have access to.

35. Legislating morals
Norman Gellman ,   Rehovot   (11.05.09)
The orthodox are continuing to force legislation and compliance to their definition of morals. Some examples are segregated bus lines; billboard advertising pictures especially those of Fox; classifying foods that in other countries are considered kosher as non kosher here in Israel. History has shown that in the end this approach fails and leads sometimes to violent opposition. Trying to put youth and the public into an isolation chamber just doesn’t work. What is needed is education and dialog after all “more flys are caught with honey then by swatting”. In addition, isolation dulls the ability to discriminate, an ability needed by all adults.
36. It Isn't Mandatory For All, Is It?
Christy ,   Boston, US   (11.05.09)
If people want to have a service that censors what they see they should be entitled to have such a service. I can't see anywhere that this service will be forced down anyone's throat. If you don't want it, don't get it. How do the people who want such a service harm anyone? Just because someone may choose something another would *never* choose -- so what?
