Why Israeli tourism marketing fails    Danny Sadeh
31. question why? simply answer
We spent our 2008 holidays in Israel. It was terrifying finding how rude you can be. In hotel, in restaurant, on the streets. After first hallo- where r u from? - we were forced to hear 100s of times who and why u blame for the shoah. We were fed up and never again hollies in israel. ps. mid-range quality of services as low as in lebanon, syria and lower than egypt. Its still too early for u

32. Israeli Tourism marketing
Israel's tourism advertising fails because Israel insists on advertising that which is NOT unique about the country. If Italy were to advertise horseback riding and golf we would consider them idiots. After all why travel thousands of miles to enjoy something that is at least as good, if not better and cheaper back home? Yet Israel insists on promoting generic attractions rather than focusing on its unique selling proposition.

33. Israel must BE in order to sell itself
Many talkbacks speak about selling the uniqueness of Israel-that's true, but the uniqueness that the world looks about Jews stands not only in physical sites but mostly in spiritual Jewish matters.I mean, purity, genuine purity;I mean Kadosh. Turists looking for Israel certainly expect not to have other than kosher food all over, for example. What a tourist looks in Israel is the uniqueness of the ancient Hebrew People-no other than us! Israel will be flocked with tourists to visit His People, when His People realizes who they truly are,and this does not need comercial advertizing nor propanganda.

34. Wars/Constant on the defense attitude
1) I'm pretty sure bombing the hell out of a tiny strip and killing over 1000 people without a second thought has caused many people (including those that were pretty neutral on the topic) to re-think not only visiting, but the whole branding of the country. 2) This constant rudeness that everyone is talking about-that is probably the "defensive" attitude that people take about "outsiders" judging them. But hey, I would be defensive too if my dirty laundry was aired on the internet and news (wait wait...so these Palestinian people you are oppressing go through HOW MANY checkpoints??) You know, "constant security" would not be necessary if the country itself worked with its neighbors (illegal as it as) rather than always fighting with them.

Problem is we don't want them and they don't want us. For how long can two people live in the same house hating each other? Why should we work at something unworkable? People need to be more holistic, understand what I mean? They there(in arab lands-A LOT,by the way!);we here. It is as simple as that.
