Religion and sport no connectionwith chabad
carol ,   eilat   (11.06.09)
3. To #1 sour grapes
Missionaries are the ones who try to CHANGE your religion. Only if you think of yourself as a devout atheist ( religion, and even then you are a Jew until you die, after that it's G-s judgement.

I have once assisted , and paid for it ! , at a chabad Seder . Let me tell you that there was more chabad propaganda than Seder . The reading of the Haggadah occured full speed , without any explanation for the many ex Russian Jews , but then they talked largely about their "Maschiach" . They are a kind of missionaries , you can't deny it .

5. Are There Prayer Requests At Grave?
In the picture of Danny Klein at Rebbe's grave, the grave area looks to be full of litter at first glance. The pieces of paper strewn on the grave -- are they prayer requests like those left at the Western Wall? Do people pray TO the Rebbe & believe he responds, or do they believe the Rebbe is taking their requests to G-d -- so they really pray to G-d via the Rebbe?

6. Chabad
Well, the best way to honor the memory of a long gone teacher is to read his works. The way Chabad goes on about it with videos and portraits on the wall go a bit too far in this regard. When people see the portraits of the Rebbe, many will think of an almost 19th century person that does not reflect today.

7. CHABAD ARE GENUINE SINCERE ZIONISTS.

8. #5 Jews pray for their beloved
Jews pray for their sages, for their parents, for their forefathers... as if they were alive. They are alive indeed. There are good gentile sites for christians to keep in touch with their own belief. I suggest you to follow them, where you are more confortable, identifying with your own language and customs, without interfaith conflicts, only for the sake of your love for jesus ,nothing else... A Jewish site is not quite appropriate for you. Jews apply to another language, unknown to christians ,no matter how they try to understand. It's a matter of indoctrination, there is not much to do...

9. Messiah : charls and #1
Torah,Messiah and Zion are fundimental for ALL Jews. The intentions of Chabad are to bring ALL jews closer to their roots. we could care less WHO the Messiah is, lets just start connecting to the fact that we want and need him to come and bring REAL world peace and bring all the jews back home to Israel. Sorry if you had a bad experience with Chabad, they were just trying to make you feel welcome with a meal and jewish connection thousands of miles away from home. You can't please all the people all the time. Look for the negitive and you will find it. The same is true if you want to try and find something positive to say about your fellow Jew and his efforts.

Keren ,   IL-BR   (11.08.09)
11. even then you are a Jew until you die?,
sez m, but even then, chabad is not selling judaism. they have their own religion marinated in vodka. the object of their devotion is their long deceased reve!
Eshkol Hakofer   (11.08.09)
12. CHABAD ARE GENUINE SINCERE ZIONISTS, sez bandy
of orlando. that is actually their own brand of zionism. the jewish state according to them, is that eventually run according to their religion and led by their dead king burried in queens n.y. go figure what zionism is that! yiikes!
Eshkol Hakofer   (11.08.09)
13. christie asked:
"Do people pray TO the Rebbe & believe he responds, or do they believe the Rebbe is taking their requests to G-d -- so they really pray to G-d via the Rebbe?" either way christie, ain't kosher! although i suspect by now, the difference is really blurred and 2nd and 3rd generations, can't tell the difference.
Eshkol Hakofer   (11.08.09)
14. To christy boston
Yes, the papers are prayer requests- people ask the rebbe to use his merits to intervene on their behalf with God. They don't ask the rebbe for things , they ask him to ask God.
Lubavitcher ,   Israel   (11.08.09)
15. Motti , 9
It was before we made Alyah . Generally we were here for פסח but that year we came later and wanted to experience a chabad Seder . I think that we were the only people who brought a Haggadah , and knew it well . That's why i said that it was too much chabad , and not enough סדר . Most of the people i saw there have eaten , but did'nt learn something , only received chabad propaganda , no much Yiddiskeit .
Charles ,   Petach Tikva   (11.08.09)
16. 'to increase Jewish identity????
Chabad is about as far from Beni Israel and Torah identity, is it not? Who are these that define who I am? My identity? If they want to increase Jewish identity, post the words of the eser debrot (ten commandments). Isn't that a mitzvah to talk of Torah, not men and their institution? Self promotion is NOT "Jewish" identity. It doesn't work anyway.
Josh   (11.08.09)
17. #14
Actually,Jews don't need intermediaries-we can(and should) do the job pretty well by ourselves.
Keren ,   IL-BR   (11.08.09)
18. #13 #14
Chabad movement is an intelectual , inteligent and espiritual Jewish movement, and they talk directly to Creator ,as any Jew does. I understand the requests for the Rebbe as if these members were talking to a sage,a tzadic, the same way we do when stuying Escriptures ,when ,somehow, we are indeed "talking"(intelectually talking) to our tzadikim,sages,forefathers...
Keren ,   IL-BR   (11.08.09)

21. was it a live broadcast from his OIL (ohel)?
Chatzkel ,   Jerusalem   (11.08.09)
22. To keren
Yes, we can do it ourselves, and of course we do pray ourselves as well. But it is a know jewish tradition to pray at the graves of the righteous (tzadikkim)- Abraham, Isac, Jacob, Rabbi Shimon bar Yochai, the Baba Sali, and yes, the Lubabvitcher Rebbe, and ask for their intervention because they have more merits than we do.
Lubavitcher ,   Israel   (11.08.09)
23. #22 Yes,eventually I agree.
Keren ,   IL-BR   (11.08.09)
24. I'll define what you are : not a Jew ,
only a pseudo Torah believer , who's place is not amongst us , TRUE Jews
