Well, I am certain that once the ship is safely docked in Ashdod, the containers removed and the threat assessed, the officers questioned (and, in all likelihood, repatriated) there will be proof aplenty, which Israel will share as it deems fit. Since this is the fourth or fifth such interdiction -- not all the vessels being stopped and seized by the Israelis, either, but all of them found to be carrying weapons under false bills of lading and all of them having set sail from an Iranian port -- this particular incident is not likely to be any different. Do not discount American assistance in this successful interdiction of an arms-laden ship. The U.S. has satellites continuously monitoring Iranian ports; it is to everyone's benefit to stop a lawless Iran and the terrorist proxies it supports.

Dont count your chickens before they hatch. One ship load more or one ship load less doesnt matter. Hezbollah is at the threshold of 200,000 missiles. I assure you that your leaders have not been having good night sleeps for some time now.
4. What's your point, Marco #3
(11.04.09)
is your point that evil and treachery are troubling and that leaders of the free world are unfortunately kept up at night strategizing so that good can prevail?
5. Arms , Iran , Hezbollah & Goldstone
Philippe Delaporte ,   Marseilles France   (11.04.09)
Here is a good recipe to get rid of all the goods seized : get the Hizbullah members along with Goldstone , stick a rocket in their ass and fire them to Iran.
6. meant to "harm Israel's cities"? Golan cities aren't Israeli
observer   (11.04.09)
The ship was bound to Latakia Port in Syria. Unilateral annexation of Syrian Golan by Israel is illegal by international law. no country recognizes this annexation and therefore it remains, in international law, as Syrian territory.
7. To # 3 - Too Bad For Lebanon
California Bear ,   Berkeley, CA   (11.04.09)
If those "200,000" missiles are launched at Israeli population centers, no one in Lebanon will be sleeping easy or at all for that matter.
8. Iran is present at our borders :
Ron B. ,   Lod   (11.04.09)
The terrorist movements Hizbullah and Hamas are both Iranian satellites. We should fight and beat to the ground the Hizbullah first and then Hamas, so that when we will have to deal with Iran the north front and the south front are pacified. Hamas continue to insist they are never going to recognize Israel and never going to make peace. So what is there to talk about with them? It is evident that negotiating with Hamas and Iran cannot lead anywhere. Hizbullah’s strengthening in Lebanon means that Israel’s mortal enemy, Iran, has a stronger presence on Israel’s northern border. Israeli ex-Ambassador to the UN Danny Gillerman explained, “Weapons are flowing to Hizbullah, Lebanon is being torn apart and is bleeding… Iran is on our northern border, and, to some extent, on our southern border as well.” The civilization of Islamic Iran : http://xrl.us/biz87
9. stop worrying about us #3
liz ,   israel   (11.04.09)
to #3 at least Israel is concerned for her citizens welfare, you should be much more worried about living in SPAIN.. where no one does anything to stop the terrorists from doing as they please.

As Marco rightly says, for every ship caught, there are many that get through obviously. I like an even game!

Chickens or no chickens...Hezbollah, would do well to turn their act into the political one they so dearly love to espouse to. If they attack Israel, or provoke Israel to attack it, it would be acting as an agent of the Lebanon state, now that they have some standing in the Lebaese legislature. This would obviously start a conflagration that Israel, having learned from previous mistakes, would be far more successful at. In turn, it would put significant political and social pressure on Hezbollah, no matter what the outcome. In essence, it would spell disaster for Hezbollah as an organization. It would signify two unsuccessful attempts to do significant damage to Israel, and might even force Iran, it's sugar daddy, to stop funding it, or at least significantly reduce their influence, in general, in the region. In regards to your sleepless nights, I'm sure Israel's leaders, political and military, have formulated the necessary plans to foil this attack, and more. This action would be unfortunate for all concerned. More loss of lives for no reason other to evoke a worldwide response against Israel's actions, that it will expect anyway. To be blunt, if Iran were gone, there wouldn't be such problems on the planet.
12. All Muslim World including Turkey must Help Iran ship goods
Tayfun_Turkey ,   Istanbul   (11.04.09)
USA and Israel tries to impose an illegal embargo on Iran Turkey and other muslim countries should not ackowledge Imperialist policies and react by helping Iranian shipments of goods As for arms: If such arms can protect Palestinians in Gaza and prevent next round of mass murders of IDF in Gaza, Why any muslim country should stand against Iran? Perhaps Mr Erdogan may proceed to extend military help to Gaza and donate them anti-aircraft missles to shoot down Israeli jets or helicopters Or at least Turkey may allow to pass such arm to Gaza and Lebonan Therefore Erdogan's recent stance will be reinforced with real action beside much talk of him to international public

Possession is nine-tenths of the law. That means, in the case of the Golan Heights, it has been annexed, Israeli law and citizenship has been extended to its residents and that is that. Any country which feels differently has yet to actually do anything about it, so Golan is a part of Israel. And has been since 1982.
17. PROMPT PUBLIC U.N. DELIVERY OF THIS REPORT
AIRIRANSDIRTLAUNDRY ,   Lynn US   (11.04.09)
Though the UN is, by the majority, hypocritical, a hotbed of tyranny, racist & anti semitic it needs to be called out. bring victims of hezbollah tp UN along with the ships weaponry and let these victims of hezbollah in israel & lebanon tell the un to start acting like a just organization instead of the morally bankrupt one it is and has been. If Israel sent arms to north korea it would be rightly condemned- SO HOW CAN IRAN send arms to hizbollah DO THIS AND at best GET A slap on the wrist? Iran needs to get the hell out of lebanon & Israel.
18. PM: Arms ship meant to hurt Israel's cities
Bonnie ,   NY, U.S.   (11.04.09)
Ha, ha, ha. And if you believe that, Israel has a bridge to sell you! They must think we, non-jews, are still gullible to their chicanery and lies! First israel invents some lame attack upon themselves, if that doesn't work, they try something else. If that doesn't work, it's another invention. This 'seeming, weaponry, is obviously a set up by israel to distract from their own aggression against others.
19. #14 Jack

No Jack, Tomas di Torquemada is not my name, it might be your mothers name!
20. #3 Marco

I was wondering if you could give a solution than just flirting. I see you are unhappy that the ship is ceased. Sorry to tell you, but the world is tired of people like you!! Peace!!
21. MArco just leave those POOR Israelis alone!
Paco ,   Canada   (11.05.09)
they dont get news like this everyday ya know? So what they do the make them up and manipulate the news with there setups like this one. As if Iran will send missiles to hezbollah or syria with a nice letter inside each of the missile boxes saying "to Hezbollah". if that was the case ISRAEL WOULD PROVIDE PROOF (e.g. PAPER, PIC) THAT THE ARMS WERE MEANT FOR THE LEBANESE GROUP. So all pro-J do me a favor and stfu
22. Piracy
Surfer Dave ,   Perth, West Australi   (11.05.09)
Is it illegal to ship weapons? No, or how else does Israel receive weapons from the USA? Is it illegal to stop and board a ship in international waters and force it to change course to different destination? Yes, that is called piracy or an act of war. So, Israel, yet again demonstrated complete lawlessness. Israel, rogue nation of Asia.
23. #12 - Not Really. Read The News
Christy ,   Boston, US   (11.05.09)
quote"Why any muslim country should stand against Iran?" Lots of reasons for fellow Muslim nations to be against Iran. They may not do it openly, but they do behind the scenes. Iraq and Iran fought a war not so long ago. Pretty bloody. Follow the news closely as well as history. Did you read what an Iran cleric said about facing Mecca to pray, and why? The current Iranian president seems to believe he's the one to unite all Muslims -- under his leadership, of course- a new Caliphate ushered in by Iran's president. (This can't go over well with the leaders of other Muslim countries.) Iran hasn't let any feelings or sentiments for fellow Muslims stand in the way of harming them. Look how Iranian leaders treat their own people.

I invite you to document and authenticate your charges. No one here that matters is particularly interested in what you "think," because by virtue of your ludicrous post you have proven that whatever the range of things of which you may be capable, "thought" is not one of them. Put up or shut up, Bonnie. Since you cannot, I invite you to leave this board and meet up with your like-minded soulmates at the Al Qaeda, Hizbollah, Hamas or Al-Jazeera websites. Ta-ta. Don't let the door slam you in your @$$ on the way out, okay?
