3. UN hate,
There needs to be an aggressive policy against the UN now by the few nations left in the UN that know "right" from "wrong" and hate when they see it and to send it the way of the League of Nations. If such nations fail to act they will be next on the UN hate list for injustices.

5. So its a possibility UN could vote Israel to go outa busines

6. I am not Jewish, not Israeli. I am Norwgian but I'll tell
you, the United Nations with its actions and lack of actions; this organisation with the its list of priorities, and lack of any priorities, has lost all respect among many of my friends here in Oslo. This organisation has become irrelevant and I would suggest to the Jewish people to view it this way, yes, irrelevant.
Sven ,   Oslo, Norway   (11.06.09)
7. The UN has not done a single positive thing regarding Israel
since 29 November 1947, nothing, and we simply can't expect it anymore. It is an organization that has lost its justification for being.
Eitan ,   Qatzrin, Israel   (11.06.09)
8. If you believe in democractic value
then you have to accept the result of the majority vote on Goldstone. Unless there is another form of democracy that we don't know of that works by minority vote!!!!!
Cynic #2   (11.06.09)
9. #8
If you believe in democratic value, how can you believe in the vote of 118 country of which at least 100 are not truly democratic ? Doesn't it bother you that unelected leaders' representant are granted the right to vote in a democratic system ?
Amih'ai ,   Jerusalem   (11.06.09)
10. #2 Moral majority
Well, in a court of four, which consists of a judge and three monkeys, the one judge is a moral majority. Like it or not.
dapperdanman ,   Czech Republic   (11.06.09)
11. Most countries think Israel when to far but want to limit it
Israel when to far in Gaza even based on it own IDF report but Goldstone report would cause problem for most modern armies it using bombs or artillery in cities or on building that could have innocent people inside. If report have been limited in scope even more countries would have voted for it. Killing children on roofs because they could be spotting for Hamas or shooting people with white flags because the could have a bomb on them, is hard to defend even if understandable to protect soldiers. Destroying a flour mill or greenhouses or food warehouses it harder to understand and looks like punishment for rocket attacks when add to the blockade on most food products.

12. 44 abstainees
if they are afraid of the Arabs more than the US, that is a disaster. But, if they fear most of the US, that is the most disastrous thing for Israel. Then, forget about US veto and any abstaining in the UNSC.

13. It seams Lieberman doesn't know math !!
He cannot tell the difference between 18 , 44 and major vote of 114 !!! The Russian thief is very stupid !
(11.06.09)
14. Lieberman's moral majority = minor HYPOCRISY !

15. The United Nations is an organization with thepurpose
of solving problems without war or other violence. rganization with the purpose of solving problems without war or other violence. It doesn’t become better than its parts, but it is surely better than the law of the jungle. The problems that it have is not that it is to harsh on violent states, it is that it doesn’t have enough power to act, when parties with un humanistic motives is blockading international justice or hinder slaughter and bloodshed and tyranny. That UN is week doesn’t mean that it´s not the best we can do in our resent development level. Think that we have had just a couple of hundred years to try to organize interstate relations towards a more democratic and humanitarian way. It takes lots of work to develop a truly democratic state and there are always dark powers that try to work against humanism in the name of nationalism, freedom, religion, racism, cultural racism and so on and on. Support the working of good instead of discredit good forces. This time Israel, US, Kina, Russia are wrong. They do not stand for a moral perspective, but support tyranny.

17. #2 114 countires maybe are just Arabs country
My dear only in Italy you can have e person who changes the law to do it's on business. Regarding the 114 countries most of it are Arabic country and I just want to see the level of they democracies, in many of these country if you are Gay you risk your live, same if you do say something against the local government. Before you say something in regards to the Israeli democracy you need to evaluate the real situation.I am Italian too that emigrate because of out Italian democracy.

19. #7, Even that was not a accomplishment
The UN partition plan was nothing but that: a plan. It did not create any states. It was not binding. The drafters made sure to write 'RECOMMENDATION' at the top, and the UN made sure never to carry the resolution over from the General Assembly to the Security Council for implementation, due to Arab opposition. Quite the opposite. In order to mollify the Arabs, the UN sent its Chief Envoy, the Count Bernadotte, with a full mandate bearing proposals to scrap the Jewish state altogether and merge the entire western Palestine with Transjordan. Later, when the State of Israel was already a fete accompli, Bernadotte returned with proposals to limit the size of Israel to the coastal strip and Galilee, ceding Jerusalem and the Negev to Jordan. Israel only became a UN member after it had won the war against the Arabs and became a fact on the ground in its own right. the UN Partition Plan was only a statement of good will for the establishment of a Jewish State by many of the nations of the world. It not establish the Jewish State. Israel owes the UN nothing.

20. #2. Goldstone is Jewish, like Brutus and Cassius were Romans
Dante put them at the 9th Circle of Hell for their act of treason.
Jake   (11.06.09)
21. #1 Atilla is preaching civilization to Israel: a minor irony
The 18 countries which voted in favor of Israel are not countries to be "bought". They are all developed, stable, democratic countries. The countries which voted against Israel are, for the most part, underdeveloped or so-called "non-aligned" countries that form the automatic majority which, no matter what happens, will always vote in favor of the Arab-Islamic bloc on resolutions pertaining to the Arab-Israeli conflict every single time. You also forgot the 44 nations that abstained, which for all intents and purposes, constitutes a non-endorsement of the Goldstone Report.
Jake   (11.06.09)
22. To Dani #17 Pay no attention to #2
We can hardly blame Italy for the incoherent pseudo-poetic anti-Israel ramblings of Ale. Italy was one of the 18 countries that had the moral clarity to vote against the adoption of the infamous Goldstone report. Italy was also the only nation, apart from America, to boycott the NATO exercises due to Turkey's exclusion of Israel.
Jake   (11.06.09)
23. #13 Lieberman did the math
114 countries bribed and blackmailed by the Arab-Islamic bloc to vote against Israel every time is not a moral majority.
Jake   (11.06.09)
24. #1 Sure...Judged by these guys..

25. 114 minus 56 muslim countries = 58 actual nonbias.
out of 58, 44 abstained, and 18 against. 44 + 18 = 62. so that means that at least 4 Muslim countries either were against it or abstained. Take Muslim countries outta the equation and Israel pretty much wins.
(11.06.09)
26. Details of the vote
6 European countries AGAINST Israel: Ireland, Switzerland, Portugal, Serbia, Slovenia, Albania, Bosnia. 9 For Israel: Germany, Netherlands, Italy, Czech, Slovakia, Hungary, Poland, Ukraine, Macedonia The remainder abstained.
Zoli ,   Budapest   (11.06.09)
27. so without muslim countries = 58 against.
and 62 in favor or abstained. muslims lose again.
(11.06.09)
28. Lieberman has faith in Hamas probing up to int'al standard?
is that a recognition of Hamas statehood?
