When the First Fleet arrived, there was estimated to be between 380,000 to 750,000 aborigines in the whole of Australia, including Tasmania. Another heroine of the Holocaust was the Polish non-Jewish Irena Sendler,who saved over 2.500 Jewish children from extermination. She has been honoured in Jerusalem as a Righteous Gentile. There were many more non-Jews who helped & saved the Jews in the Holocaust. I hope you never have to go through a 1/4 of the suffering Anne Frank & her family suffered.

What happened to Judea and Samaria and also Gaza which even then could have been welded together into an Arab Palestinian state? Their brothers in Jordan and Egypt grabbed them. In both cases these were plainly illegal occupations in violation of international law, but no Palestinian made a peep nor did anyone else in the world. In 1967 as the Arabs prepared another war of extermination, the Israelis made a pre-emptive strike and beat them all in six days, liberating Jerusalem, Judea, and Samaria, and getting stuck with Gaza too. The settlements began in accordance with Article 80 of the UN Charter. Now all of a sudden the Arabs began shouting that Judea and Samaria was “occupied territory.” The fact is they are disputed territories and there is a world of difference. Going back to the last Jewish state, they’ve always been under the rule of some imperialist power each introducing their own colonists into area. The Palestinian Arabs are descendants of these colonists -- they took Samaria from the Samaritans, but there are still Samaritans there. You can occupy land that was under the sovereignty and control of someone, you can’t occupy land that never belonged to anyone. That’s the legal side. On the ground Israel wants peace and is engaging in a process, but here are the hangups 1. The Arabs want the descendants of former residents who fled, in most cases voluntarily to get out of the way of the Mongol massacre, the right to return within Israel’s borders. That of course would be suicide for Israel and it will never happen. If they do a straight money deal, the Arabs will have to pay the Jews an enormous sum because the number of Jews chased out of Arab lands at the time exceeds by far the number of Arabs who fled Palestine; not to mention the huge difference in property lost. They have to back off this demand and work out something reasonable. 2. The Arabs want half of Jerusalem. This city has been Israel’s capital for 3,000 years. If any Israeli government tries to meet this demand, there will be a civil war. 3. The Arabs want Israel to return to the 1949 ceasefire lines. That would include areas such as Gush Etzion where Jews were driven out by Jordan in 1948, and the Arabs were never there. Israel is not going back to the ceasefire lines, but there is room for negotiations, including swaps of land. The problem is they keep repeating like a broken record the “1967 borders” when there never were any borders, and if they get serious, a deal can be done here. The Tibetans, the Kurds, and the Karen also aspire to independent states and their people have suffered far worse than the Arabs in Palestine, have gained no international support, and actually no one gives a damn about them. Is there anyone vilifying rank-and-file Chinese, Turks, and Burmese day after day, even those who have moved abroad, hour after hour, day after day, because of these issues? No? Otto Frank is known to have lived very modestly with his second wife. He is known to have refused to profit from his daughter's diary, which would have garnered him millions -- even billions -- of dollars. The diary has been made into countless movie screenplays throughout the world, and has been adapted to the stage as well. Mr. Frank always insisted that any profits be turned over to several Holocaust museums in Europe and for the maintenance of The Anne Frank House as a museum. Jewish charities continue to be the recipient of the proceeds of the sale of the Diary. It is disgusting that you would suggest otherwise. Heroism of Jane Haining? That depends on how you feel about missionaries, I guess. It's little bit like the legend of Dr. Stanley. Grand humanitarian? No. You had to convert first. "Mark Twain" means two fathoms, and that is what the measurer would call out when doing a depth check of the water. Twain is far better known for being an essayist and a satirist that for being a fiction-writer. His comments on Palestine are accurate, match identically with photographs of Palestine and other written accounts. Australia is not in contravention of any UN resolution and unlike your apartheid racist regime the Aboriginals aren't segregated and have successfully fought and won their grievances through the Australian Courts.
