1. Qatar should not be allowed to host
Qatar is a backwards Islamist state whose intolerance should preclude it from ever hosting such international events. WIll Israelis be able to freely and securely travel to Qatar to watch the games?
In any case, who wants to watch football withou a pint in hand? Their Qataris are going to for sure ban any alcholic beverages even for non-Muslims! Islamists are always forcing their religion on others and them hosting this event will be another opportunity for them to humiliate and subjugate non-muslims! We should oppose them!

2. #1 Cognitive dissonance
I think you have a severe case of cognitive dissonance! The article quite clearly states, from published sources (that being the chief executive of the Qatari bid), that both Israel and alcohol will be allowed. I think the other term used for people like you is "blinded by hatred"!

4. Palestinian World Cup
The Palestinians should be offered to host the World Cup if they permanently end their war with Israel.

6. to all
qatar neither needs our respect, out thanks or our anything. israel is a nation and so declared by the un.
israeli athletes should be allowed to enter any country to compete without being boycotted . period.
those countries that have no relation or diplomatic contact with israel should not be used to host sport events should they boycott israeli athletes. these events can be hosted by nations other than arab and islamic nations
i guess qatar learned its lessons from the dubai and shahar peer incidence and acted accordingly. however, this qatari action doesn't deserve any of our thanks or sympathy.
be a proud nation that knows its athletes are welcome by all. if they are not, the competitions can be moved to many other locations that are more liberal, westernized, modern and not backwards.

8. #3 ghostq
As usual, you make remarks that are entirely off the subject. Nowhere did I state that Muslims don't drink alcohol. In Jordan, it is perfectly legal to buy alcohol from a liquor store or shop. In Qatar, you need to buy a liquor license, and then you need to go to a specific government building that sells liquor, plus there's a monthly quota of consumption, hence the clarification by the Qataris. Please, please don't post talkbacks in ignorance!

9. Qatar is the wrong place for such an event
Qatar was clearly stung by the reaction to their restrictions on Israeli athletes last year. Beyond a modest fine, they've paid no price for their discriminatory behavior.
My basic attitude, not knowing the others in contention is ABQ - Anywhere But Qatar. I might reconsider if they make clear all teams will be treated without discrimination, Israeli fans will be welcomed, and that Israel will be invited to help with security. Oh, and that boycott thing? Drop it!

14. Don't do us any favours
Qataris will "permit" Israelis to attend? Even if we trust them to not bait and switch this promise at the last moment, can Qataris guarantee that the hicks among them will not mob lynch Israeli tourists? Can they guarantee the security and DIGNITY of Israeli visitors? That they won't be humiliated by government employees and police, hotel staff, cab drivers? That they won't be harassed or mistreated in any way for being Jewish / Israeli?
Let's see them show their civility by allowing Israelis to visit NOW ... and not just cynically use it as a "sweetener" to fool FIFA into this decision.

15. Qatar can be good example of Sweden
Sweden is not able to organize Davis cup anymore. Qatar is to show higher level of tolerance and security to Israeli athletes?

16. #1 Important question
WIll Israelis be able to freely and securely travel to Qatar to watch the games?
The answer is NO, of course, so Qatar cannot be a host. PERIOD.
