6 protestors detained in anti-fence rally    Anat Shalev
1. As I said before...
such actions of the "most moral army in the world" conflict with human rights and freedom. The Universal Declaration of Human Rights says... Article 17. * (1) Everyone has the right to own property alone as well as in association with others. * (2) No one shall be arbitrarily deprived of his property. Article 19. * Everyone has the right to freedom of opinion and expression; this right includes freedom to hold opinions without interference and to seek, receive and impart information and ideas through any media and regardless of frontiers. Article 20. * (1) Everyone has the right to freedom of peaceful assembly and association. There's more articles to cite but I don't want to get too carried away. Israel, stop stealing land from the Palestinians and stop arresting those who exercise free speech.
Addle ,   Toronto   (11.14.09)
2. #1 Trespassing is not a human right
Protestors have no right to trespass on military zone. They know the rules, they know the consequences. This is a photoshoot which is why they come with cameras.
Cynthia ,   USA   (11.14.09)
3. To Addle @ 1
Stealing lands? Who's lands? Where were you before 67 when the so-called "palestinians" were just as bent on the destruction of the Jewish state (just as they were in 48 and decades before it)? Stop sympathizing with gangs of hooligans and those who want the destruction of Israel.
John ,   Munich   (11.14.09)
4. Addle from Toronto:
If protesters entered the Esquimalt Naval Base in British Columbia (Canada), they would be arrested. Right? Canadians would agree that the protesters had no right to trespass onto the base. What makes you think that it is any different near the security fence in Israel? I would suggest that your repeated posts on Ynet consistently show off your ignorance. It might be time to enhance your education re the mideast as opposed to publishing your opinions.
Robert Haymond ,   Ashdod, Israel   (11.14.09)
5. Why hasn't Israel bought/used the humane crowd control
weapons produced in the US? Shown on the American TV program 60 minutes: From half a mile away you can aim a powerful signal that heats the surface of the skin and MAKES you leave without any temporary or permanent harm. FROM a half mile away, no rubber bullets, no soldiers endangered.
Bunnie Meyer ,   Los Angeles, CA USA   (11.15.09)
6. To: No. 1
You forgot these: Article 4. * No one shall be held in slavery or servitude; slavery and the slave trade shall be prohibited in all their forms. Article 5. * No one shall be subjected to torture or to cruel, inhuman or degrading treatment or punishment. Article 11. * (1) Everyone charged with a penal offence has the right to be presumed innocent until proved guilty according to law in a public trial at which he has had all the guarantees necessary for his defence. * (2) No one shall be held guilty of any penal offence on account of any act or omission which did not constitute a penal offence, under national or international law, at the time when it was committed. Nor shall a heavier penalty be imposed than the one that was applicable at the time the penal offence was committed. Fully 80% of the member states of the United Nations are in violation of these principles. Nearly all of them, I might add, Arab and Moslem nations, but Africa is rather liberally represented as well. Where is your outcry against those, Addie? All I see from you is a great deal of anti-Israel invective. There are 193 other member nations of the United Nations. You're just a dyed-in-the-wool Jew-hater is what you are. And you are not successful in your attempt to couch your hatred of Jews in preachy, pious and uninformed blanket statements of support for Palestinian lawbreakers and terrorists. You are fooling no one. We know EXACTLY what you are. We've dealt with your ilk for thousands of years. We've seen you come. And we've seen you go.

7. To #2,#3 and #4
#2: The military zone is established on Palestinian land. You might want to revise who the real trespassers are. They also bring cameras as evidence to show the IDF's wrong doings (which the IDF desperately try to suppress). #3 You dang well know whose lands I'm talking about. Do those Israeli protesters also want the destruction of Israel? No, they want to clear Israeli presence from what's intended to be a Palestinian state. #4 You can't seriously compare the two. The security fences ensure Israeli settlements can grab as much land from the Palestinians then the Palestinians can get back. What ignorance? The word you're looking for is "factual". I've know a thing or two about the Middle East. I also know this thing called "international law" and "human rights". Please, please. For all whose minds who are clouded with hatred against the Palestinians, take time to watch this unbiased report (even you Ynet moderator, I'm asking you to see it as well): http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=A7XtT91yO6g&feature=fvw Hopefully you will have an unbiased viewpoint about the struggle for peace.
Addle ,   Toronto   (11.15.09)
8. Re: Addle and others
B"H There is no such thing as "palestinian land" Addle. British Mandate Palestine seased to exist in '48 with the creation of modern Israel and Jordan, as the Palestinian Arab State. The rest is propaganda.
Ariel Ben Yochanan ,   Kfar Tapuah, Efraim,   (11.15.09)
9. to #7 nop, they got no deeds,
just go snow bording, and it was unauthorized rally. you need to get permition to demonstrat.
ghostq   (11.15.09)
10. Why aren't they bussed to jail the minute they arrive?
Nemesis   (11.15.09)
11. #8 , #9
#8 Jordan is not a Palestinian state, it's a Jordanian one. Your attempt at ignoring people who owned lands for hundreds of years (and still have papers to prove it) is horrendous. You're one of the living examples of why peace is out of reach. You can't show sympathy for the other side but rather, you just label them as non-existent. What I presented is not propaganda but the truth of what goes on in the occupied West Bank. #9 Permit to demonstrate? Ha. Let me guess. You also need to have a license to speak? Freedom of speech, expression, assembly etc requires no permission/authorization. It's a human right. Unless you're saying Israel does not allow such human right...?
Addle ,   Toronto   (11.15.09)
12. #7 Israelis have human rights too
The security fence and military zone are built on some land purchased or rented from Palestinians in response to terror. The fence protects Israeli lives. These protesters are trespassing. They don't bring cameras to take nice pictures of IDF soldiers guarding the site. They throw rocks at the soldiers to provoke an incident. When the soldiers respond, they take the photo or tape the incident. The highlight of their protest is when someone does get hurt. That makes the whole incident worthwhile. As for settlements...Jews have every right to live in the West Bank. The Palestinians would like to think the world stands still on their behalf waiting for them to make peace. Decades and missed opportunities have passed while billions of dollars poured into the PA but never got used to build a better life for the Palestinians. You're just another member of the lazy blame Israel club.
