1. So wrong, wow.
Ben ,   TA, Israel   (11.16.09)
During elections everyone broke right. Bibi went leftward after the elections because of realpolitik, Lieberman, need I say more? Even Livni tried her best to look like a rightist. Sharon ran like a right wing hawk, he only changed after the elections.
2. "Transportation minister"
Center-right ,   Israel   (11.16.09)
Mofaz, FYI more Israelis were killed on the roads then from pallis. You, as Transportation minister was useless for the country and expensive for taxpayers. Stay home and don't come with stupid ideas. You had a brilliant chance to act on crucial post as a Transportation minister before. Now you lost credibility.
3. Mofaz
Israeli Jew   (11.16.09)
Did that self serving Mofaz ever have any credibility? In fact none of them have. One is worse then the other with their same bs mantras. Will Israel ever grow up and appoint true leaders? So far only 1 potential and thats Moshe Feiglin all the rest are just club members shuffling seats to suit themselves and care little about the bigger picture. I joined the Likud on Feiglins ticket and Im as secular as you can get. But I recognise a true person with jewish values and Feiglin beats them all hands down.
4. If he wants left, let him join Meretz

5. and now Mofaz!
MC   (11.16.09)
All the politicians mentioned in the above article, including Bibi who's the best of the bunch, are only interested in themselves and their own positions and power. All this 'turning to the left' which is a disaster for the country, is their vision of reaching their gandiose ideas of themselves. People are tired of all of this. They want the government to protect them and their security and wellfare and nothing else matters. It's time for these 'oldies' including Peres,to retire and make room for younger leaders with new ideas and inspiration able to unify the people not fragment them as has been going on for too long...
6. Shaul Mofaz's plan is very similar to Rabin's approach as
Eitan ,   Qatzrin, Israel   (11.16.09)
expressed in his last speech at the Knesset in Oct. 1994. 1) A Palestinian state will be less than a state 2) The Jordan Valley must be viewed in the widest possible meaning of the term 3) Gush Etzion plus additional settlements will be annexed to Israel 4) Major Jewish settlement blocs will be part of Israel 5) Jerusalem will remain undivided and will also incorporate settlements such as Ma'aleh Adumim and Giv'at Zeev. Rabin has been considered by all, including the Arabs, as a man of peace. Rabin's ideas are part of Israel's main stream of Israel today, reflected by people like Netanyahu and Mofaz.
7. Hamas talks not relevent
mordechai taub ,   jerusalem   (11.16.09)
Mofaz's call to negotiate with Hamas is not a move to the Left, nether Hamas nor Abu Mazen have accepted the existance of Israel as a reality. His support for unilateral withdrawls, which even most of the Left realizes is a disaster, will lead nowhere. .
8. 2 states - now or never!
ben mordecai   (11.16.09)
the threat of single bi national state is real and can't be ignored. Within a generation, if we don't repartition now, Tel Aviv and the coast will be an upscale bantustan within a palestinian entity. Jerusalem will be a southern version of Beruit. Expelling arabs or denying them full citizenship in an expanded state is not an options for reasons of practicality as well as morality. Ben Gurion, Rabin and Sharon all understood this...many of the followers of Jabotinsky now have seen the fuller picture. Two states for two peoples now!
9. mofaz
marcel   (11.17.09)
What has he done. He beat out vilnai who was a better military man. He was lucky to have Yaalon as chief of staff when they cleaned up west bank terror. he was the one who certified halutz as chief of staff which should have never happened. Halutz, a good air force man was a fish out of water and a lousy overall general who was not able to motivate the land generals and adjust and adapt. he was similiar to zeira in 73 with his fixed concepts. yet he sat there like an imbecile taking direction from 0lmert. The losses in readiness were attributed to mofaz. Then he sat there like a dodo as olmert livni and peretz screwed up the hezbollah war. So he thinks israelis will trust him? i don't. He and halutz give israel hope that it can deal with iran as we now know iranian material better. And other than pistachio nuts, its not very good. I don't care for livni but she is better than mofaz if she can just tell us how she differed from Olmert. If she did not differ significantly, then I have no use for her and israelis would be stupid to vote for her. She should have anticipated goldstone prior to cast lead and had a quick report ready.
10. MOFAZ DOWN TURN !!!.
