1. THERE IS NO WAY THE EU WILL BACK THEM GOING IT ALONE
zionist forever   (11.16.09)
Most EU members know that if they support a unilaterally declared state then the result will be a war and regional instability. Unless Israel has agreed on it then there can be no peaceful solution and for the EU its peace and stability that matters most
2. just occure to me, they forgot about

5. I hope the EU agrees with this I'll write to my MEP
Ezra ,   London   (11.16.09)
today expressing my support
6. 1# Israel hasnt got a say since its not a member, also
Caroline   (11.16.09)
its going to be very difficult for the USA to veto it without a very good justification, otherwise they'll have no credibility in the ME. Israel has nobody to blame bar its politicians that have stalled the peace talks. Israel wont have to give the right of return, the Palestinians will have East J'lem as a capital and best of all the settlers will get Palestinian citizenship. I look forward to the day and God willing it'll be soon.

One of my biggest criticisms of the Palestinians has been that they don't take responsibility for themselves. We may not like some of the tactical implications of this unilateral move but it may be a step in the right direction, ideologically. If Palestinians accept responsibility for themselves perhaps they will also consider the consequences of their actions, i.e. terrorism. There is something disingenuous however about making such a declaration and annexing in words territories that are not in your control. Borders are part of negotiations. It's not clear that Jerusalem will be divided. One shouldn't incorporate such claims into a declaration of independence because the rejection of such declaration could simply be a matter of disagreeing with minor points. There is a serious down side to this declaration. If the Palestinians have a country then they face the consequences of their actions. Israel will be well within its right to stop supplying water and electricity. This is not a desirable prospect for either side, but that is the reality. Water and electricity will have to be part of a trade agreement that obviously will require immediate cessation of all violence.
9. It's always about smoke & mirrors, never substance

with the Palestinian leaders. They don't WANT a real state (or they would back Fayyad) but rather the illusion of a state that gives them $$$ but no accountability.
10. Morality and politics.

Even if the Arabs will get an additional state,a "Palestinian state", that part of the Land of Israel will still remain the Land of the Jews - robbed by the Arabs. The entirety of Jerusalem as the entirety of the Land of Israel belongs exclusively to the entirety of the Jewish people. It belongs to our generation as well as to the future generations to come, and no one has the right and/or the legitimacy to cede even one single square cm. of the city or the land. Agreements as a result of blackmail and pressure are not valid and will not change historical truth and International Legitimacy (The San Remo agreements). Mistakes done by Israeli government(s) in Anapolis or before should not be respected and should be put right immediately. Arabs have no case as to the Land of Israel, we should return to the original legitimity as described at : http://xrl.us/bjch4

The US will only loose its credibility if they couldn't justify the use of the veto and I think if the reason was to avoid a war it would be considered justifed. Just because the UN declared that the arabs are now to be given Judea & Samaria and east Jerusalem doesn't mean Israel is going to overnight move hundreds of thousands of settlers or simply agree to divide its capital. The palestinians will say this is ours if your not going to get out unilaterally then we will go to war to get you out. So Israel & the palestinians will launch a full scale war which will probably spread to Jordan because 80% of the population are palestinians will be demanding that Jordan go to war with Israel to support the palestinians. To avoid being overthrown Abdullah would feel he had to send military support. In Egypt its possible that Mubarak may come under pressure to do something. Lebanon at has has hundreds of thousands of palestian refugees living within their borders. So certainly Hizbollah would take part meaning an invasion of Lebanon Assad may even come under pressure to attack Israel. Israel can fight on all these fronts but by they time its all over the casualties will be in the thousands. Unilateral action risks starting the biggest regional war thats taken place in decades. The US intelligence & military establishment know these that this can all spill out of control if the palestinians are allowed to a state thats not the result of a negotated settlement with Israel so there is no way the US will let it pass. Use of the veto would be a last resort they will first try and convince the other Security Council members of the dangers involved and so they should also vote against backing the palestinians They will almost certainly talk the EU round and possibly Russia & China when they realise this is about stopping a regional war.

1. We're not stealing water, we actually provide it and take care of waste and purification. 2. You can't live without electricity. Israel provides you with most of it. You cannot have it both ways. Once you will be independent resistance will no longer be the issue. You will have to answer for your actions. Do you think your leadership is capable of this? I doubt it, but my opinion is not the issue. It's your future country. Your opinion is the one that matters, because you will be held accountable at the end of the day, via the consequences of their actions. Rather than speak in terms of justice, try to find a more pragmatic dialogue. What suggestions do you have for your leadership that would promote peace? (Suggestions for our leadership are just demands and not pragmatic.) Notice, I'm that thought this was a good thing. I just see two sides of this coin. Independence brings responsibility.

I agree one state for equal rights for all just so happens that state already exists its called JORDAN. Jordan is the only long term viable palestinian state. Another state in the 1967 border can never be viable so the only solution is make Jordan the only palestinian state. Muslim & pro palestinian countries will all support a palestiian state the UN giving them independence but non of those countries have a say in the Security Council. US, EU states, possibly Russia & China if its to avoid war they will all vote against the creation of this state unless Israel is behind it. The countries that support the palestinians are not the countries that matter. Go to the Security Council and the paestinians don't have a chance in hell.
