Do you know why such a vast proportrion of Jews were deported ? I'll tell you that before WWII till the 90's people had to register at the municipality to wich religion they belong . This to allowing the Dutch governement to subsidise the different faiths proportionally to the number of believers . So the nazis had only to look at those lists of Jews . You could find the exact % of religious of all the different towns , not , let's say 20 % , but 19.79 % . That there were collaborators , yes of course , as in every occupied territory . .

I cannot understand how a serious newspaper puts Occupied Palestinian Territories in quote signs. Isn't Israel also, as a full member of the UN, ruled by respect of international law? Israel is oblidged, by treaty to respect it's obligaitons towards it's trade partners. That includes correct nomination of origin. Other european countries surely will follow the dutch - since they get aware of israeli disrespect of trade rules.

Dear people! I am so shocked about the anti-Dutch talkbacks here. I started ordering Ahava from Israel 2 years ago and since I have made a lot of friends enthusiastic about it. Never ever have I heard anti-Israel remarks. We buy our Carmel, Ahava, YEs to Carrots etc. It might come to your comfort that the Socialist Party is not taken serious by the general public, especially not the young Dutch. Shalom :)

Look at numbers . In Holland , with a Jewish population of around 150,000 in 1940 , there Yad Vashem has given To 4947 Dutch people the Righteous amongst the Nations Award . They too risked their life to save Jews . If you go back in History , why not a little bit farther , 500 years ago Holland welcomed vast quantities of Jews fleeing the Spanish inquisition . People who initiate and support these boycotts are not typically the ones who buy the products. A bunch of loud mouthed socialists and clowns like Code Pink are not going to deter Ahava customers. I've heard these boycotts have the opposite effect and sales of Israeli products actually increase from the publicity.

Fortunately Ahava is a wonderful product - David if you really don't like it, try the shower gel and face cleanser, really nice for the skin. Ahava is making very nice products. But if they keep on making them from occupied territories, they\ll go bankrupt. Shops in Europe are wary of being spoken of in media as selling illegal products.
