Israel to get its own Air Force 1    Zvika Brot
1. Air Force 1 and the VIPs
Mr Prime minister and Honourable president,be a light unto the nations ,dont deny yourselves, use a spacecraft do it in style, when the space craft is not in use it can be used by other astronaughts.
philip ,   Afula. Israel   (11.19.09)
2. Airforce fuel plane with all the luxury fittings
Think about it, a prime minister and a president using a fuelling plane for transport, how common and dirty. Lets see how that fellow from Africa Israel flies around, and learn from him.....whata ya mean he is bankrupt, whats that got to do with it ...so are we !!!
Oscar Wilde ,   Ofakim, Israel   (11.19.09)
3. think of the partys katsav could have had !
The mind boggles ! talk about the mile high club !
Avi ,   Israel   (11.19.09)
4. #1 Philip. How did you know?
I thought I was the only one along with the Mosad who knew about Israel's secret weapons....eg. spaceship. Great job #1
Israeli 2   (11.19.09)
5. Get them a couple of hang gliders
The frequency of peres traveling would have any new plane ready for the junkyard in a year. With hang gliders they can jump off a high cliff or building and their hot air could carry them any place in the world. To land all they need to do is shut their mouths, but with politicians that is impossible.

6. Israel to get its own Air Force 1
This is the best and wise thing that you have decided to acquire in doing, safety is a priority and tax money well spent. good luck
bambi ,   bacolod, philippines   (11.19.09)
7. What will Barak have to say about this
YIOU EXPECT ME THE GREAT EHUD BARAK TO TRAVEL AROUND ON AN AIR FORCE FUELING JET THATS WORSE THAN HAVING TO TRAVEL BUSINESS CLASS RATHER THAN FIRST CLASS. It sounds like an extravagance but it probably will save money in the long term the government just needs to make sure they sell this to the public using every argument bust prestige, I am not sure how Obama is going to feel when somebody like Bibi who he hates so much lands in America on Air Force 1
zionist forever   (11.19.09)
8. Not much of a cost really...F-35's cost 100mil+ each
So this is nothing in comparison.
Jim ,   TA,Israel   (11.19.09)
9. taxpayers!, Kol HaKavod
you are going to have a share in that big big project; you may be entitled to a free tour inside the Air force 1; on the ground.
observer   (11.19.09)
10. If the government wants to be smart....
The best way to sell this to the public is to publish the costs of the PMs and Presidents' travels over the past few years, and present it side-by-side with what the cost would have been with a govt. owned plane. This way, man-on-the-street-Israeli could see that this is makes economic sense, instead of relying on a statement that it does.

11. To # 7
I think Barak already signed for his plane during his last jaunt in Paris. All I can say at this moment is that it is a Mirage, and nothing tatty or common like the proposed Air Force One .The delay at the moment concerns interior decoration and gourmet catering services, seemingly trifling matters but deserving of the attention to detail for which Ehud is so well known. I shall keep you posted as further details emerge. Copy....to The State Copmiroller etc..
Dolcha Vita ,   Metula, Israel   (11.19.09)
12. # 10
A grand idea , but I would propose that three independent proposals be submitted .Its not lack of belief or trust ,just better to treat the matter in a buisness like way.
Philip ,   Afula , Israel   (11.19.09)
13. Disgusting!!!! simply disgusting
children are going to bed hungry here
israel   (11.19.09)
14. Oh, the cynics among us. This is a "used" plane after all.
I'm surprised Israel went this long without at least an executive jet . But considering how much they currently spend to charter each flight and the delays associated with bidding each time, there's an economic case here. That he's going for a "relatively new" - i.e. used - plane suggests they are cognizant they will be held to account if they go overboard. Having a dedicated plane allows Israel to provide the kind of communication systems the leader of a state at war requires.
Raymond in DC ,   Washington, USA   (11.19.09)
15. This should've been done a long time ago.Every other country
has 1.Why not us? ,   Rueben, Israel   (11.19.09)
16. Cutting costs.
Remember Sarah was a EL _AL hostess before marrying Bibi, I am sure she will be glad to do her duty and save us a few cents.
Terrance Stamp ,   Tel Aviv, Israel   (11.19.09)
17. The US
Do we US tax payers have to foot the bill for this too? Seems we pay for too much already.
Amused ,   US   (11.19.09)
18. IT'S ABOUT TIME...! WHATEVER THE COST IT'S WORTH IT.
Sdunc   (11.19.09)
19. How do dignitaries other countries travel?
Does France have an Air Force 1? How about England? I know Canada doesn't/
Maurice ,   Montreal   (11.19.09)
20. Non of your business
It shouldn`t matter to you. Its just for chemtrail plane refueling.
stephan ,   sweden   (11.19.09)
21. To # 17 Air Farce more like it.
We are not amused ,but ashamed of our egomaniac leaders. Very expensive hotels and now this air force one or air farce one stupidity. After all we are not a wealthy country ,you would think that our leaders would show some sensitivity. We laugh at the third world countries but act just like them.
philip ,   afula, Israel   (11.19.09)
22. AIR FORCE ONE , FALAFEL ONE
This plane reminds me of Israeli taxi drivers, they don't take you where you ,the paying passenger, want to go they take you where THEY want to go .BASTARDS.
LAWRENCE RAP ARTISTE ,   SAFED ISRAEL   (11.19.09)
23. Excellent move long overdue
It is appallingly embarrassing that the leader of Israel uses commercial flights--especially when one considers the security issues. This is a good move.
Mea   (11.19.09)
24. But you can't call it Air Force 1...
because the number 1 is an Arabic numeral. And what Jew would place any type of Arabic symbol on a plane. Perhaps you should just designate it " Ersatz Israel'.
Mikesailor ,   Miai, FL   (11.20.09)
25. To #10
Also a good idea. As long as it's demonstrated to the taxpayers how they'll ultimately be saving money.
Yoni R. ,   Modiin, Israel   (11.19.09)
