Why does the Center need to operate as a government body? If Sephardim or Askhenazi Jews want special centers or museums, they need to fund-raise from those interested in such an institution and support it. By the way my mother is Sephardic and my father Askhenazi. The government should support only projects benefiting the entire Jewish people.

We Sephardic Jews have NOTHING in common with Mizrachi communities, certainly not anymore than the Ashkenazi communities do. Sephardic Jews (those originally from Iberia) have their own centres in the US and elsewhere where we try to preserve our Ladino language, music, and other cultural aspects. "Mizrachi" Jews are indigenous Jews who have lived in North Africa and the Arab Mideast. And quite frankly, they are NOT a monolithic group either! Egyptian, Iraqi, Lebanese, Yeminte, Morrocan etc Jews have VERY little in common with each other, they even speak different languages and/or dialects.
