I take a bus home from the Central Bus Station every work day, and I've seen the large groups of Ethiopian kids who hang out there. They may be loud sometimes like all teenagers, but they are far from disruptive. Compared to most Israeli teenagers, and compared to all the other weird and shady characters who hang out there the Ethiopian kids are saints.

If the letter says "misbehavior" and "disruption" of the central bus, and at the same time claims that the children are "subject of violence" it is contradictory. What is the true reason and motive of such letter? Is the goal to penalize the Ethiopian teens for their misbehavior or to protect them from violence by racist bigots? What is going on in Israel? While the rest of the world is moving towards integration, Israel is regressing into the dark days of racial segregation that was discarded in USA. Israel needs to do some soul searching before the world slaps it with biting sanctions.

I for one do not believe that the Ethiopian youth would misbehave any worse than youth from other backgrounds. But even if they do why would the police or education ministry recommend to segregate all of them? That is why we say it is RACISM! It is so sad to learn about how one bad apple can corrupt others. But the big picture is how Israeli's have a short or no tolerance towards Ethiopians.
