1. When will you learn
moshe ,   israel   (11.23.09)
Jordan is Palestine. The whole of Israel is ours.
2. Encourage the pali's to unilaterally
Joe ,   Ohio, USA   (11.23.09)
declare a state. The unilaterally set the borders for them. Leaving them with about half of the west bank and significant arab population centers in Israel proper, build a wall and then force them to the other side and say too bad. You went to war and lost then set unrealistic peace terms, so take your lumps or cross the border and take your chances.
3. There are many solutions. Don't be so narrow minded.
Adam ,   Tel Aviv, Israel   (11.23.09)
4. The only solution is expelling all arabs from Israel!
jordan is palestine   (11.23.09)
If the arabs ever won a war with Israel they would have murdered every single Jew! Jews are merciful! We should expel them without killing them!
5. Artificial dilemma: logical fallacy = ynet's agenda
Paqid Yirmeyahu ,   Ra'anana, Israel   (11.23.09)
6. 2-State Solution is a Myth
Nour ,   Palestine   (11.23.09)
Not only is it racist, unworkable, and unrealistic, it's also impractical. 40 years of Israeli colonization have totally torn to pieces any chances for this "solution" to ever happen. The peace process was a ploy, a scheme, to defraud Arab Palestinians of their lands peacefully. Thank God, everyone now accross the political spectrum in Palestine is giving up on the "negotiation" strategy. Negotiation entails 2 reasonably strong parties. What obtains on the ground is a state actor, with 21st century war machines, against a defenseless population. How could there EVER be fair negotiations, especially in absence of an unbiased mediator? Come on people. The sooner we all accept the Palestine Solution (1 secular state) the sooner there will be peace. Of course, the racist Jews who refuse this can follow the example of the supremacist Afrikaaners/Boers and simply leave the holy land and return to their former host countries. 1 state now. Right of Return and Aliyah is a human right!
7. #2 Your idea won't fly
Nour ,   Palestine   (11.23.09)
As it stinks of racism and calls for ghettos, jailing the native population majority in Palestine (from river to sea) into cantons. How dare you. This will never work, pea-brain.
8. I BELIEVE ISRAEL NEVER HAD THE CHOOSE
atilla karagözoğlu   (11.23.09)
everything is mixed up. there are no simple answers there are no simple facts there are no simple wishes how did it begin ? I dont think its known. how did it started ? I dont think its necessary to know. CRYING OUT it is to me is asking for help people both people not just one single people both both in captivity human wants all. human runs from its mistakes. human never think of others than human lose all they say ; if a bird flies in japan that wind become great big thunder wind (horricane) *** everyday middle east cries everyday we feel than in many ways we cry too. *** I can forgive anything human makes but but selfish dreams we have no right to take others lives no. no we dont . at this point, I take leaders and politicians as responsiblers *** people have rights they have also have rights to be ruled by its leaders honestly. PEOPLE CAN LOSE ITS WAYS BUT BUT NOT LEADERS. PEOLE CAN HATE EACH OTHER BUT NOT FATHERS. lets remember ! whatever The God gives to human ( good mind ...) The God expect that human use it for good. IF LEADERS DONT BE LIGHT FOR PEOPLE, I DONT BLAME THE PEOPLE NO MATTER WHAT THEY DO ... even terrorism. weak fathers all I see is weak fathers
9. THE ONLY AND FINAL SOLUTION !!!.
Arn-Orao. ,   Sweden-Srbia.   (11.23.09)
Isaiah 54 1"Sing, O barren, thou that didst not bear! Break forth into singing and cry aloud, thou that didst not travail with child! For more are the children of the desolate than the children of the married wife," saith the LORD. 2Enlarge the place of thy tent, and let them stretch forth the curtains of thine habitations; spare not, lengthen thy cords, and strengthen thy stakes. 3For thou shalt break forth on the right hand and on the left, and thy seed shall inherit the Gentiles, and make the desolate cities to be inhabited. 4"Fear not; for thou shalt not be ashamed; neither be thou confounded, for thou shalt not be put to shame: for thou shalt forget the shame of thy youth, and shalt not remember the reproach of thy widowhood any more. 5For thy Maker is thine husband" the LORD of hosts is His name" and thy Redeemer, the Holy One of Israel; the God of the whole earth shall He be called. THIS HOLDS TRUE EVEN IF TAKEN THIS COURSE - and parted My land. FROM - Joel 3 1"For behold, in those days and in that time, when I shall bring back the captives of Judah and Jerusalem, 2I will also gather all nations, and will bring them down into the Valley of Jehoshaphat, and will plead with them there for My people and for My heritage Israel, whom they have scattered among the nations, and parted My land. THOSE WHO PART THE LAND OF JEHOWAH Sebaot/LORD of Hosts, WILL BE ON THE LOSING SIDE HOWEVER, EVEN IF ISRAELIS. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yWSATpx7uzk Arn-Orao.
10. #2 Sounds like Gazas / Bantustans to me
Nour ,   Palestine   (11.23.09)
11. Transfer of Arabs or a binational Israel
golan ,   Ashdod   (11.23.09)
you cannot have a "Jewish" state with Arabs in it. That is a binational state. So ok to a Palestinian state if you transfer out the Arabs living in Israel from Acco to Jerusalem to Jaffa and the Galil. That is the price for a "Palestinian state" which can be made in Gaza no problem. Their is no reason to give up Hebron and "east" Jerusalem or the Galil. We can live well with Um ElFahm but without its Arab settlers.
12. Israel must disengage from PA
revert Palis ,   into Jordanians   (11.23.09)
Let them trade with Jordan using Jordanian currency.
13. our choices
Sharon ,   near Gaza   (11.23.09)
The people writing here are about as realistic as those saying there will be mass immigration from the U.S. Every stone in every settlement is a disaster for the Jewish State of Israel. We are building a bi-national state with our own hands and stupidity.
14. Ignoring reality
Israel Israeli ,   Tel Aviv   (11.23.09)
Eshet is ignoring the reality of the "two state solution". As clearly explained by Livni and Olmert, the two-state solution will lead to one ethnically pure apartheid state where Jews are not allowed called "Palestine", and a second multinational state called Israel. Israel will eventually be renamed, its flag and anthem changed to not insult the large Arab Muslim minority. Due to no law enforcement in the Arab sector under the Kadima regime (for votes), there will be no land for Jewish building as free land is illegally taken by the Arab Muslims. With the "right of return", "family reunification", Arab polygamy and simple illegal entry, Arabs will flee the corrupt hell-hole called "Palestine" to live in Israel. Israel will disappear, the Jews dispersed, and without international donations the "Palestinians" will eventually emigrate back to their homelands in Syria, Lebanon and Iraq.
15. @2
Sam ,   ME   (11.23.09)
What were those "unrealistic peace terms"???
16. STATUS QUO IS DYING
DAVID ,   JUDEA   (11.23.09)
A very correct observation from this writer, only he can not see in which direction we are moving to, because he is to limited by his secular Zionist believe system: The malchut will be restored with the appointment of a King and the Torah system of government under the direction of the Sanhedrin. 2. The seed of Amaleq will be wiped out (this means they will be removed from the land and rendered incapable of harming Am Yisrael. 3. The Temple and Jerusalem (Ezekiel 40:148:35) will be gloriously restored and the people of God will be gathered and blessed as never before.
17. plaestine4 ever
Salma ,   palestine   (11.23.09)
the state of palestine coming like it or refuse it all the same... salam
18. to #10 lol if you think you want one state than
ghostq   (11.23.09)
you probably will want democracy so you will have to be loyal to the jewish majority and accept their civic customs like in any democracy and that include the national anthem, y you arab don't think things through beyond me, you had that chance before the first intifada but as alway historicaly you blow it when you turn to violent riots. once again that ship already set sail.
19. We chose Jordan, now they can piss off there
James   (11.23.09)
20. To #5
Mohammad ,   Jordan   (11.23.09)
Would you please clarify what the artificial dilemma or the logical fallacy you are talking about? Thanks
21. Neither Israel or the PA may have a choice in the matter
Bloodyscot ,   Dallas, Texas   (11.23.09)
The US, EU and Russia have already decide most of the solution based on pasted Israel/PA agreements and the Saudi Plan with land swap but not how to reach it yet. Deporting the Muslims is not an option that will be allowed by US and a one state option would give the refugees the right of return and possible land rights under Int. Laws. A 2 state solution is the ONLY option and will be based close to Saudi Plan with land swap. This will happen before Obama leaves office, EU has plan to declare a Palestine state if needed but time is need to work out process and build PA Gov. framework, about 2yrs. The US veto in UN is controlled by Obama and not Congress.
22. One state
Haider ,   Gothenburh, Sweden   (11.23.09)
Is the the most rational solution on condition that all have equal rights. Palestinians who were forced out are welcome to return back to their homes. Wasn´t that what the jewish exodus was all about, to return home? What´s so difficult in that? As for #, you haven´t read your history right. Those who murdered the jews were europeans and christians. And to #14, you havn´t done your homework right eithr because as far as I and verybody knows, Israel would not have survived all these years without donations especially from the USA.
23. Problem is the difference between with and within
Eric ,   Tel Aviv   (11.23.09)
Israel has agreed to the concept of a Palestinian state within the 1967 borders, but what the PA is calling for is a Palestinian state with the 1967 borders. The difference is one that will be hard to overcome, and not because of settlements but because of Jerusalem - the Temple Mount etc would become Palestinian if it is with the '67 boarders. Thus an Israeli PM must give away the heart of Jerusalem and of the Jewish people. Not going to happen as it would never be ratified Also, Israel is not concerned with a unilateral declaration of independence as they did it once and it went nowhere. So doing it again just looks silly.
24. Palestinian statehood?
Bear ,   Zefat, Israel   (11.23.09)
Neither of your ideas are good nor necessary nor workable , mostly because in either case THEY SIMPLY DON'T WANT US! The best solution is to make a deal either with Jordan or Egypt or both to relocate them in Jordan and/or the Sinai. Then we can all live our lives peacefully (if they'll let us.)
25. Except we are already responsible....
Danny   (11.23.09)
Look at Gaza, we are already held responsible for every tiny bad thing. It is still claimed we "occupy" it. Better to properly occupy it and have the control that comes from that.
26. #7, except you'll call everything racist
Danny   (11.23.09)
so why don't we do whats good for us and ignore you?
27. #21 why is deportation not an option?
Danny   (11.23.09)
The gulf states deported over 400,000 Palestinians after the first Gulf war. Libya deported over 100,000 Palestinians after Oslo was announced. Jordan deported tens of thousands of Palestinians in 1970. Lebanon and Syria keep hundreds of thousands of Palestinians in ghettos with no access to outside work, no rights and no citizenship but apparently this is not apartheid. Nothing will happen under Obama, it will all sort itself out when the oil runs out, Iranian and Syrian regime are overthrown.
28. Idea that Israel must have deal makes Pals demand more
Sam ,   Canada   (11.23.09)
The seeming desperation from some Jews that Israel must have a deal only encourages the Palestinians to hold out for more. There is no crisis except among the neurotic for Israel to make a deal at any cost. If there is an acceptable deal no doubt Israel will make it. There is no potential deal because peace for Jews means a Jewish state must remain and peace for the the Palestinians means a Jewish state must disappear. A unilateral declaration by Palestinians over less than all the territory means they will be back for more.
29. bi national state? a definite NO
AHARON TAUS ,   Jerusalem, Israel   (11.23.09)
Perhaps, Israel will not be destroyed from the outside in. Rather from the inside out. A bi-national state will definitely ensure Israel self destruction. Advocating a two state solution: Palestine and Israel is the only viable option to guarantee Israel continuous existence as a JEWISH STATE. A bi national state requires that two nations of different faith be democratically and fairly represented in the Knesset. Admitting such evidence, it means that the Arab population will eventually overpass the Israeli (Jewish) population within a very short period of time. Proportional representation in the Knesset will determine the majority votes and Israel will cease to exist as de facto. REMEMBER THAT A BI NATIONAL STATE IS CONTRARY TO THE INTEREST OF THE SURVIVAL OF A JEWISH STATE.
30. 20 Mohammad
Paqid Yirmeyahu ,   Ra'anana, Israel   (11.23.09)
Fair question. The author of the article "assumes" the dilemma: "Palestinian state, or one bi-national state." There are an innumerable number of alternatives beside the assumed dilemma. Other alternatives range from an international region to protectorates within Israel to a lawless region like Somalia and every shade in-between. Not all of the alternatives are very reasonable but the author's and readers' ignoring their existence is pretty good evidence that none of them are thinking of the alternatives that are reasonable. There is no limit to the number of alternatives. It merely requires one to think outside of the box and consider options other than what they've fixated on. The author wants readers to assume the dilemma so he can show the "alternative" he doesn't like won't fly, leaving readers to "assume" they're left with no recourse but the remaining alternative. Dilemmas are almost always artificial, a logical fallacy--and an instrument of propaganda.
