1. I only with that the Egyptian leadership...
Marco ,   Spain   (11.27.09)
could understand the wisdom in the words of Buthaina Shaaban!
2. after 60+ years, why the sudden concern now?
mike ,   israel (formerly usa   (11.27.09)
palestinians have been abused more by the middle eastern countries around israel than israel could ever do if it tried. why the crocodile tears about the plight of gazans? i agree that pressure should be put on egypt to ease the siege they have imposed on the people of gaza. that is, assuming they even care about them.
3. oh Syria!!!!
Yafa ,   Palestine   (11.27.09)
What about Golan heights Madam!!! oh maybe as usual the time is not yet hahaha
4. the sad side of these "leaders"
jason ,   israel   (11.27.09)
these type of arab "leaders" for 60 years have so thoroughly screwed the arabs of palestine and other parts of the ME, and this is more of the same. it is a shame they pour misery on their own, not even allowing them to enjoy a game of football in peace.
5. Mossad is behind Arabs' poor football skills

6. this lady actually makes a lot of sense...
american observer ,   dc   (11.27.09)
the arab people have become a disorganized group of people full of corruption and mismanagement. principles and integrity seem to have been thrown out the window. kudos to shaaban !
7. Buthaina
London guy ,   London   (11.27.09)
She has a valid point. The hysteria and bad blood whipped up recently by the Algeria-Egypt game is puerile in the extreme. Ms Shaaban simply makes the point that the Egyptian and Algerian governments are misdirecting their efforts and that Arab anger should not be directed towards fellow Arab states. As for the comment in #4 that "these type [sic] of Arab leaders... so thoroughly screwed the Arabs of Palestine", the author of the comment might care to check and see which terrorist group originally caused the flight/expulsion of our dear Palestinian brethren from their homes. The simple fact, dear readers, is that most of you simply don't think that a Syrian can speak or act in a civilised fashion, and that is exactly the Israeli stumbling block. Institutional and institutionalised racism refuses to acknowledge that you are dealing with equals.
8. Syria responsible for Gaza problems
Elly ,   Vienna, Austria   (11.27.09)
Syria is directly responsible for Gaza's problems encouraging the war.
9. Gotta give them credit for finially getting
Joe ,   Ohiop, USA   (11.27.09)
their priorities right for once.
10. OK Shaaban, get off your big you know what
Cynthia ,   USA   (11.27.09)
and do something for the Palestinians. Your country attacked Israel in '48 and caused the refugee problem. For Syria, the Palestinians are an excuse to make war with Israel.
