1. Blair
New Yorker ,   U.S.A.   (11.29.09)
Tony Blair is a political pygmy. Every month has been critical for him. He is not alone in it.
2. There alreadty is a Palestinian state
Sarah B ,   U.S.A. / Israel   (11.29.09)
It is called "Jordan," and was created out of the clear blue sky by the British by carving away land intended by the League of Nations to be part of the Jewish state promised by the British in the Balfour Declaration. For shame, Mr. Blair. Learn your history!
3. I am an Irish Jew, he did bring peace to Northern Irel, but
Adam ,   Dublin   (11.29.09)
he just annoys me! he is a figure head and his advisors do all the hard work, he just presents.
4. #3 peace and Blair
Juan ,   Spain   (11.29.09)
Yes, you may think Blair helped bring peace to Northern Ireland, but in fact he capitulated to terrorists. Since then he has waged an apparently illegal war in Iraq. He now thinks he can sort out the Israel Palestine problem! What will he do - capitulate to terrorism again? I'm sorry, Blair gives the impression of being a nice chap, but it is a façade and he cannot be trusted.
5. Blair should butt out. Contributes NOTHING, makes it WORSE
Australian Guy ,   Australia   (11.29.09)
We know what Blair and co want - one-side negotiations that lead nowhere but further problems for Israel. The Pal/Israeli issue is not a "problem" that Blair is capable of working out. Bugger off mate, go and retire yourself and talk s**t all day with Jimmy Carter.
6. BLAIR IS DELUSIONAL... TWO STATES ARE NO LONGER POSSIBLE.
stude ham   (11.29.09)
after 60 years of arab hostility towards israel there is no further hope of accommodating the arab puppets. the end of the rope has been reached and yet another arab state on israel's borders is no longer an option for peace.
7. sorry blair, but you betrayed England
eddie ,   london UK   (11.29.09)
Mr Blair lied to the British public, and is now being investigated over the war in Iraq. He is not a trustworthy character, adn wil onyl bring destruction to Israel, if he gets a chance.
8. two state solution impossible since
avrom ,   bet shemesh   (11.29.09)
it is a stepping stone too the destruction of Israel therefore a two state solution will cause war ,terrorism and death as it has done in the past .The only solution is a one state solution called Israel because only Israel can provide a tolerant liberal democracy which safeguards the security dignity and human rights of both arab and jewish populations and economic prosperity Of course the Palestinians would not have a vote for the national government as is the situation with frenchmen not voting in th UK
9. 2 states
colin   (11.29.09)
Blair prodicts the worst. He lost his hope in getting the EU presidency and now very worried he will also loose his position as the quartets representitive. Blair says one that he wants peace in the middle east bur pridicts war. Go home Blair nobody hears your extreem words.
10. it's ALWAYS a "Hell of a Fight"
David   (11.29.09)
Mr. Blair, next month, last month, this century, last century, next century
11. His words are Worthless.. as No1 said
RJBH ,   Methil   (11.30.09)
A political Pygmy . Brits hate him too.
12. There already IS a Palestinian state and a Palestinian city.
Sam   (11.30.09)
The state is know by all as Jordan and the city is in Texas. If you'd be so concerned for the Palestinians, you would take your troop and move the Arabs over to where they belong. Definitely not in our state known by all as Israel.
13. when your ill and you throw up you go blair
zionist forever   (11.30.09)
Tony Blair really does make me sick he thinks he is so clever and has all the answers. Now his best buddy Bush is gone is criticizes his policies but cant stop praising Obama. He threatens a one state solution ( the arabs first choice ) if we don't accept the arab demands but the reality neither him & his EU friends, Obama could ever force Israel to accept the idea of a single arab majority state so less of the threats that you can't back with actions Tony. If arabs want 2 states then there is one country named Israel and there is another one next door named Jordan. Time for the rest of the world to keep out Middle East politics. Lets not forget it was the british & french who created most these problems. They promised what was Palestine to both the jews & arabs during WW1 to buy support from both sides. They broke the terms of their Legaue of Nations mandate first by creating Jordan and later by refusing to let the jews emigrate to Palestine even sending some ships back to Europe rather than let them dock in Palestine. They traded the Golan to France in exchange for Mousal .. if the Golan had always belonged to Israel there would have never been Syrian artillery fired at jews in the Galilee pre 1967 & we wouldn't be talking about giving it to a maffia thug now. Time for everybody to let Israel sort out its own problems its own way. A domestic solution which isn't rushed so a US president can say this problem was solved on my watch has alot better chance of success than the Europeans & US. I am sick of everybody knowing whats best for Israel and Israel being the only one who doesn't know whats good and bad for it.
14. JORDAN is 78% of palestine mandate. JORDAN is 80% palestinia
Strengthandhonor ,   Lynn US   (11.30.09)
and its leaders are a miniscule minority imported by colonial power Great Britain from Mecca in 1920. Jordan is "Palestine" Israel is Israel
15. we'll take "a hell of a fight"!
OZ   (11.30.09)
from a point of geopgraphical strength, as oppose to be stoped into thinking that the arabs would play nice with their own" state". is blair drunk? are people so oblivious to what is realy going on in the m.e? hamas &hizbulah, are armend to their teeth, iran wantes nukes, and every arab country wants israel on a pedestal, ripped for the salughter. no thanks, blair, we'll take care of ourselves without you!
16. Tony Blair...
Lior ,   Israel   (11.30.09)
http://www.spectator.co.uk/coffeehouse/5572073/exclusive-the-mandelson-and-gaddafi-shooting-party.thtml from Dailybeast: Just when it seemed that the British government’s relations with Libya couldn’t possibly get any messier, Charles Moore at The Spectator has revealed details of a recent pheasant shooting party at Waddeson Manor, Lord Rothschild’s huge country house in Buckinghamshire: the guest list included Cherie Blair, wife of former Prime Minister Tony; Lord Mandelson, our Business Secretary—and the unofficial deputy Prime Minister (apparently neither of whom picked up a gun—God forbid); and Saif Al-Islam Gaddafi, son of the Libyan dictator. Saif, a keen shot, has apparently laid down 40,000 partridges near Tripoli, but is perhaps best known for being the man who escorted al-Megrahi, the Lockerbie bomber, back to Libya in August this year after his early release. http://xrl.in/3w2y Tony Blair is an appeaser to those who wish us ill!! Nice George Bush started the mess of that stupid quartet made up of Britain , UN, Russia and U.S!! What a sham. Mortal enemies telling us what to do when in the mean time they are licking the as**s of some of the worst of the worst.
17. Irish peace because IRA were fought to a standstill
Seamus O'Cnaidel ,   Eire   (11.30.09)
18. The only solution
Amir ,   Haifa   (11.30.09)
is no Palestinian state along side Israel. There aren't enough resources, especially water, to support 2 states let alone natural population growth. Where do the proponents of the 2 state solution propose all the new immigrants, returning refugees and natural birth growth be housed? If the Palestinians want a state, there are 22 large Arab and Islamic states that should carve out a portion of their territory for a Palestinian state. The land of Israel has been recovered by its ancient and lawful owners, the Jewish people. There's no room in this land for an enemy that wants to annihilate the Jewish people.
19. Bungling Interfering Blair
DT ,   TA Israel   (11.30.09)
The latter Dummy
20. Tony is fogetting British Law
Lori ,   SF, CA USA   (11.30.09)
I think tony is forgetting that that comment is in violation of British law... When an international law or treaty is ratified in the UK, it becomes British Law. The British accepted the burden of administering the Mandate and they took it upon themselves a second time via the Anglo-American Treaty in 1924. These documents granted rights to the Jewish People to settle all of Palestine (Judea and Samaria included) and the right of settlement, and prohibited ceding any Jewish National Land. According to the Vienna Convention on Laws and Treaties, a right granted through a legal instrument cannot be canceled with the execution of that instrument, unless specified within the original document. So, Tony... your even saying that violates British Law...
21. did anyone ask Tony B Liar's opinion?
Ben ,   Gush Etzion   (11.30.09)
22. Re: #2 Sarah
Apa ,   NYC   (11.30.09)
You forgot one key part about the Balfour declaration - it specifically mentioned that the rights of the indigenous population was not to be violated. Clearly that has not been the case. The fact remains - the Brits promised the land to too many people, arabs and jews.
23. #14, NO ! JORDAN IS ALSO ISRAELI LAND
....DACON9   (11.30.09)
YOU WANT TO MAKE A NEW HISTORY BOOK DONTCHYA... LOLOLOL
24. Sarah B., Shimon Peres says you're hallucinating...
BBSNews ,   Charlotte, NC   (11.30.09)
...in May of this year Haaretz reported about your wildly inaccurate claim: "National Union MK Aryeh Eldad's proposal that Jordan take responsibility for the Palestinians' welfare is a "baseless hallucination," the president told Israel Radio." How do you explain that? Who should we believe? Sarah B., who has shown herself to be about as misinformed as it gets on nearly every single issue, or do we believe the President of Israel in May 2009? I believe Peres and the historical record. Sarah B. simply has proved she inhabits a completely different world that the reality based crowd.
25. stude ham, what then of the Palestinians?
BBSNews ,   Charlotte, NC   (11.30.09)
If Israel was one state right now, there would be parity between Jews and Muslims. Under your scenario, what of the Arab Palestinians eh? They all get Israeli citizenship. equal rights and one person one vote in all elections right?
26. Sam, Shimon Peres says you are hallucinating...
BBSNews ,   Charlotte, NC   (11.30.09)
...I'm going to have to take his words in May 2009 far more seriously than your lame fallacy.
27. Seldom mentioned…
Ron B. ,   Lod   (11.30.09)
In one of his last and most important speeches, Rabin stated before the Knesset on October 5, 1995, one month before he was murdered, his opposition to a new independent Arab state acting as a sovereign authority inside Israel's current borders. He stated at the time, "We view the permanent solution in the framework of State of Israel which will include most of the area of the Land of Israel as it was under the rule of the British Mandate, and alongside it a Palestinian entity which will be a home to most of the Palestinian residents living in the Gaza Strip and the West Bank. "We would like this to be an entity which is less than a state, and which will independently run the lives of the Palestinians under its authority." About an additional Arab state west of the Jordan (in 4 parts): http://xrl.us/osjq5
28. The policy of land for peace.
Ron B. ,   Lod   (11.30.09)
Stop the policy of land for peace, which has really been concessions for terror We need to say clearly that there is a military solution to Hamas, that Syria must be isolated and that any big decision on a diplomatic agreement must be brought to a democratic vote in a national referendum." As to the disastrous Oslo Agreements it is a failure, from the start, it didn’t have a chance. After the horrible mistakes he commited as a result of his total lack of vision, Peres should keep away of politics and the Media. As to the “Palestinian” demography : http://xrl.us/bewfbt
29. There are TWO Palestinian states: Jordan and Gaza!!!
