1. Naval Clout.......
Brian ,   Tel Aviv, Israel   (11.30.09)
......begins with Amphibious Assault Carriers and Aircraft Carriers, and ends with Nuclear Submarines. There isn't a single Nation in the ME with true naval clout. Somali Pirates, have more naval clout than Iran, Israel also needs to build a true navy, and amphibious force.
2. Islamic delusion should make us all worry
JPS ,   Efrat   (11.30.09)
While their quest for nuclear weapons should give everybody reason to lose sleep at night, Iran's conventional forces are more a threat to their immediate Muslim neighbors (Iraq, Kuwait, Saudi Arabia, Gulf states) than anybody else. Is Iran the new "3rd reich" that is building itself up to control the world and show Shiite superiority? Let's continue to let them think so, since they continue to underestimate the destruction the would bring upon themselves. In the meantime, the world must work to stop them from developing nuclear weapons. The Iranian regime embraces suicide as a quick path to paradise, and is a threat to the entire world.
3. SO WHAT !!!.
Arn-Orao. ,   Sweden-Srbia.   (11.30.09)
Closing the Strait would cause "tremendous economic damage" to Iran, which would "probably not undertake a closure lightly," the study said, but added: "Disrupting traffic flow or even threatening to do so may be an effective tool for Iran." IT WILL DO MORE DAMAGE TO WEST AND WORLD ECONOMY. IRAN IS NOT AFRAID OF SACRIFICES, AS THE JAPANEESE SUISIDE PILOTS DURING WORLD WAR 2. THERE IS A GREAT TRUTH REGARDING SACRIFICES, AND THAT IS - -VICTOTY THROUGH SACRIFICE-!!!. Revolutionary Guard favored by regime AS THE SS I HITLER GERMANY. ACTION IS REQUIRED !!!. Arn-Orao.
4. A few new Russian nuclear submarines will help Iran a lot
Tayfun_Turkey ,   Istanbul   (11.30.09)
Such a few submarines especially nuclear will mean Israel may be easily targetted by Iranian missles and also USA may feel Iranian submarines along its coast as nuclear submarines may go through poles directly US coasts.
5. NOTHING NEW
MAHMOOD ,   LONDON-UK   (11.30.09)
In the article. The details that follow were in force already for the last 6 to 8 months and increasing by the day,The article comes up at a time when chances of conflict are high but the Iranian Naval deployement was as in the article.
6. Smart conclusions
Dr D ,   Jerusalem   (11.30.09)
Any strategic Iranian analyst, after seeing the results of the wars conducted by the USA, NATO and Israel in Iraq, Afghanistan, Lebanon and Gaza, is convinced that nobody will be able to defeat Iran on his territory. Nasser also pushed his luck when he blocked Tiran and he had the second most powerful ally on earth on his side. Teheran and his allies must be careful because maybe this time his enemies will not conduct the war fully in accordance with the Geneva Convention and the support of the sensationalistic media.
7. A Few Fast Patrol Boats for Irans own coastline
RJBH ,   Methil   (11.30.09)
is hardly naval clout, as your scribe put it. Iran needs to be able to defend itself from US threat which in the Bush years was formidable..Best Iran can do now... is steady expansion.

while you was chasing the d, in ilford with your pakki friends. if you know things, i mean really know things, then you shouldn't tell you fool. and besides we all know that by the way you talk you are just a sad old junkie. and if ynet don't print this then they too support the jihad. if it's ok for them to offend us why can't we offend them?
9. The Iranian Navy
Sarah B ,   U.S.A. / Israel   (11.30.09)
Should be interesting to see the Iranian Navy come up against the full faith and credit of the United States Fifth Fleet, also deployed in the Persian Gulf. Don't think in terms of a replay of the Battle of Jutland. Think more in terms of shooting fish in a barrel. That would be Iranian fish, of course.

11. We Can Muster Over 30 Aircraft Carrier Groups
Dav Lev ,   Burbank. CAUSA   (11.30.09)
The US has 3 battleship groups in the area, with 3 aircraft carriers, and their attendent ships. We can take out Iran' navy within a few hours, if provoked. Our cruise missiles are nuclear tipped. We can move additional fleet at will from the Med to the area..perhaps 10. ( We have over 30 worldwide). Satellites can pinpoint Iran's larger ships..and I would not be surprised if little Israel's navy will be included..to seek out, attack and destroy Iran's smaller vessels. But do we have the guts, the chutspah to wipe Iran out? Im not so sure?

In the event that Iran is attacked by the United States, whether by air, land or sea, Iran will respond ferociously. I will give you an example. If Iran is attacked by the Americans, it will recruit Shia proxy forces, which Iran will deploy them to the South of Iraq, where these forces will slaughter thousands of US soldiers. Of course, the war planners at the Pentagon had that in mind as they were constructing their cost-benefit analysis. Never mind the fact that an attack on Iran by the US or anyone else would set the Strait of Hormuz and the Persian Gulf on fire. Those in America and the rest of the West though it was bad paying for gas at $175 a barrel. Imagine paying for gas at $700 a barrel. It is these two reasons that the US has been deterred from attacking Iran.

"While their quest for nuclear weapons should give everybody reason to lose sleep at night, Iran's conventional forces are more a threat to their immediate Muslim neighbors (Iraq, Kuwait, Saudi Arabia, Gulf states) than anybody else. " Its neighbors have no issue with a nuclear Iran. Enlighten yourself with Noam Chomsky's book, WHAT WE SAY GOES. "Is Iran the new "3rd reich" that is building itself up to control the world and show Shiite superiority? " Iran doesn't have the means to control the world. What a silly question. About Shia superiority, I believe the world saw that when Hezbollah handed back to Israel its rear after the 2006 war. "Let's continue to let them think so, since they continue to underestimate the destruction the would bring upon themselves." Iran knows that an attack on anyone would send it back into the Stone Age. Therefore, they aren't interested in war. But, thinking about the fact that it is being pressured and threatened from many sides, it has nothing to do but prepare itself for a potential attack. "In the meantime, the world must work to stop them from developing nuclear weapons." They arent trying to. Never have, never will. But, point the dirty finger at your country, please. Israel developed 250 plus nukes outside of the framework of the NPT. In other words, it did so secretely. A nuclear Israel is much more of a threat. It has attacked all of its neighbors, has maintained the longest occupation in modern history, and has used chemical weapons banned by international conventions against civilians. Iran hasnt attacked a country in over 300 years, And 300 spartans sought them off.

Agreed. Nuclear submarines -- top of the line Kursk class -- is just what the doctor ordered. Oh, wait. The Kursk's nuclear plant failed and the Kursk sank, all hands. Yep. JUST what the doctor ordered. Iranian submarines targeting Israel? Threatening the U.S. coastline? Tayfun, whatever it is you are smoking, you really need to stop.

dovdevan ,   ashdod,israel   (11.30.09)
the destruction of their oil facilities and nuclear plants will make them think twice about retaliation against israel ! and if this is not enough we have got our submarrine with nuclear bomb abaord to finish the job with this satanic regime !

"This is correct. Irans lets it's aides Hamas and Hizbullah do the dirty job. " We can say the same thing about US support for Israel. The weapons Israel uses to massacre Palestinians are US-made. Perhaps the US is using Israel as a tool to keep the Arab World divided as it continues to exploit it for its resources?

Sarah B ,   U.S.A. / Israel   (11.30.09)
Yes. Respond ferociously, indeed. Just as ferociously as they responded to a vastly inferior Iraq. Ten years later, half a million dead soldiers later, Iran shamefacedly begged for a draw. Sweetie -- if the United States wanted to take over the oil fields of any country in the Persian Gulf -- who do you think could (or would) stop them? You are the quintessential poster child for Arab and Moslem delusions of grandeur. It is precisely why, with the exception of Israel, the Middle East is such a dreary and dismal place. Keep up the good work.
23. If only our arab child o-BUM-a was able to become a man and

deal with iran seriously. But, alas, this will never happen.

Israel is a sovereign state. Hamas and Hizbollah are known terrorist entities, and it contravenes international law to support terrorist groups. That's why the international community (that part of it that matters) has so diligently worked to interdict Iranian shipments of arms. Massacre Palestinians? Do you mean like in Jenin, when Palestinian claims of over a thousand dead civilians were later conclusively proven to be twelve terrorists dead? Oh, Noor. Enough already. Everyone knows you for who and what you are -- an absolute nothing. Again -- do keep up the good work.
