How many Israelis will die after hundreds of convicted terrorists are released?
2. US just experienced what happens when evil is let loose

Serial offender Maurice Clemmons was pardoned, despite his criminal record. Several days ago he carried out a personal retribution against the police by gunning down four officers while they sat drinking coffee. After a city-wide manhunt, he was spotted, confronted, and killed when he resisted. Found in his possession was a gun taken from one of the slain police officers. Now consider the 980+ prisoners about to be let loose, many of whom will choose to continue their "resistance".
3. @1 how many soldiers died hunting down these sons of b...es?

4. its the shalit family & their supporters responsible not Bib
zionist forever   (12.01.09)
The problem is the Shalit family and their supporters understandably say the government must be willing to pay any price for Gilads return doesn't matter if its financial, political or releasing terrorists they just must get him back whatever the cost. Then they organize and stage demonstrations demanding the government get Gilad back but of course the people who are calling for a responsible deal not at any price they don't turn out to demonstrate against so the only voice that gets heard is the emotional one and it pressures the government into doing bad deals. During the oslo years we released about 6000 terrorists and about 1000 of them went onto kill. Bibi personally released in 1996 a man who later went onto organize 3 terror attacks in Netanya and one of the attacks he was involved in the planning of was the 2002 Park Hotel bomb. He is was recaptured by the IDF but now he is defaintly one of the men on Hamas list. So we have seen they kill again once they are on the streets and I imagine that at least some of this batch that gets released for Gilad will probably carry out attacks in future. Sharon gave 400 Hizbollah men without blood on their hands for 2 dead soldiers & a drug dealer Olmert released hundreds of Hizbollah terrorists including samir Kuntar for 2 dead soldiers Bibi is about to release around 1000 terrorists many killers or high vaue terrorists like Marwan Bargouti for Gilad Shalit. The terrorists know kidnapping soldiers is profitable, all they need is 1 man and they can demand anything and probably get it. A palestinian charity has offered $1 million to anybody that takes a soldier. One of Hamas main goals during Cast Lead was to kidnap soldiers. There are public calls to kidnap soldiers. We are encouraging it and the problem is mainly the emotional families & their supporters who then put pressure onto th government. Its also hard for Bibi to say on the record I refuse to say that no price is to high and if Hamas price is not right I will leave Gilad to rot then he looks like a traitor. After the video emotional outpour increased because we knew he was alive and Bibi felt he had no choice but to cave into public pressure.

What are the odds that Hamas will release their sole bargaining chip? I note that from what the external news reports say, the working theory is that Israel will release one-half of the terrorists first, followed by a release of the second half of the terrorists, and then Gilad Shalit is to be released in the care of an Egyptian representative and the German mediator. My ten year old recognizes how stupid an arrangement this is, and how likely Hamas is to sit back, laugh heartily while Shalit goes absolutely nowhere. Someone needs to put a muzzle on Shalit's parents. Yes, their son is precious. So are the lives of the Jews and Israelis who will be endangered by the thousand or so released terrorists. Gilad Shalit is Hamas' ace in the hole. He is NEVER coming home unless he is extracted, or Israel takes a hostage that Hamas would consider bargaining for. Frankly, I don't think such a hostage exists. But I KNOW that Hamas will never release Gilad. And, frankly -- the price Israel is being asked to pay is not worth it, even were Gilad to be released. As the poster at No. 4 points out, if Israel goes through with this deal, you may as well paint a bull's-eye on the back of every Israeli soldier. Gilad is never going to be released. Anyone who does not realize this -- or who believes Hamas is capable of honorable negotiation -- is a complete and total fool.
6. Listen To The Cadets
Christy ,   Boston, US   (12.02.09)
They, and others like them, are the ones who may suffer because Israel's enemies realize ANY PRICE will be paid for their safe return if they are captured. To me, it's like having a bulls-eye painted on your back. Also, has anyone thought that G. Shalit thinks just like these cadets and may not want his freedom at ANY PRICE? Maybe it would be hard on his conscience to realize all the terrorists that are to be released for him?

8. Ask them again when they are the kidnapped soldiers
Mirqa ,   Tsfat   (12.02.09)
It's all very well for these young "cadets" to have their opinions. They may feel otherwise when they themselves are behind enemy lines.
9. Good for them. 18 year olds have more sense than government

10. #8, thanks to these sort of deals
Danny   (12.02.09)
We may very well have the chance to find out. It is pretty obvious that these deals encourage more kidnappings and more terror. Why worry about being captured when Israel will release you and hundreds like you whenever a soldier is taken.

YOU SHOULD BE AGHAST AT YOUR SELF DESTRUCTIVE VIEWS, AND PRAISE YOUNG soldiers of valor like Daniel. *980 terrorists reportedly being released *Terror recidivism (they go back to supporting or directing terrorism) rate over 75% *735 freed people who are going back to terrorism *1000's of israelis Killed or irreparably wounded by terrorists * freeing Gilad is what we should do, but on our terms not hamas'. We should kidnap a few hamas leaders, commando style, and do a swap
