I believe that if the islamist in Europe had shown more of their integration to the democartic society, and not engage in car burning, rioting over news papers articles nad engaging in protests of anything they perceive "insult to Islam" , rather than accept that in a democracy the freedom of speech is for everyone. This was not the first time a Swiss popular vote was used to promote religious intolerance. A century ago, a referendum banned Jewish ritual slaughter in order to drive the Jews out of the country. Like the minaret, the Christian cross is a symbol of the Spanish Inquisition or the violence committed by Crusaders against Muslims ... and Jews! isn't that a political minority party practicing abuse of the Swiss public vote.

What's the big fuss. The minarets will prevail and prosper under the european ' roof '. If I was in their shoes (europe's),I would strongly recommend making the teaching of arabic in school mandatory. The rest, like islamisation, will gradually follow, in due time. it is more stronger when it is strong in each heart .. islam in the heart do not need political support nor minaretes . becouse of that it is easy to be moslem wherever you are be. but to be europian you will seek your right as a european not as moslem .. islam is so simple it is not a fantasi or by force
