How is it that it's always Israel alone required to appease or preform goodwill gestures to the Arab Islamists for a supposed peace and the Arabs are never required to do a darn thing except demand more and from Israel? Israel has jumped into the role of defeated loser under the Trojan peace Road Map,always capitulating. At one time Israel defeated Arab army after Arab army in war after war.Now Israel can't even defeat Hamas in Gaza because their masters in Washington hold the leash tight on their loyal lap dog Prime Ministers. The Arabs lost at war but won at peace. You sold your soul to the US for a false peace and got weakness and great calamity instead .Return to HaShem.
2. Netanyaho is 1 of few capable leaders in Isr. to make peace
NB ,   Nablus, Pal   (12.05.09)
All other doubts notwithstanding, I do believe that Netanyahu is developing genuine peace intentions towards Syria that foresee a full withdrawal from the Golan Heights. In so doing, he'll not only be making history, but acting in Israel's best interest - I believe.

ben eliezer and barak screwed things up as PM and DM. Lives were lost, terror was not fought because they were unduly sensitive to US pressure. Sharon came in, asked what the hell was going on, and started to smash heads and that with yaalon quieted terror. Do you remember you labor mice? The illness suffered by israel is labels- left, right. Take the good from each of them, not the whole philosophy. For example withdrawal from gaza was probably right but not philadelphi route.Talk to syria about peace but not surrender golan like the crooked coward olmert did( he should behave more like his brother who knocked out the reporter when it comes to israel's adversaries). And talks should be direct as yaalon would say with no concessions up front. Tamir and perez and paz pines are spineless pussies like uveneri who now writes in maan and tehran times and has advanced the state of palestine with a jewish province much like what olmerde was accepting. And livni- why did you sit with olmert during hezbollah war when he didn' brief you properly and you disagreed with him? Why did you not resign? Because you have no guts and for that you cannot be PM/ We had one pussie as PM and we cannot afford another one. Erdogan is in bed with assad and wants th egolan returned to syria to absolve him of his ripoff of syrian lands.
4. Dignity?:Import as there is none in Israel
Tayfun_Turkey ,   Istanbul   (12.05.09)
What a Foreign Minister you have! What a Decisive Goverment you have! Despite Turkey spoke facts and that is coceived as Insult by Your FM Lieberman, now Israel beg, cry, lick hands of Turkey to mediate between Syria and Israel You should import dignity as there is none in Israel, but will you manage to use imported dignity as you never had before?
5. Negotiations with Syria
graczek ,   Maryland, USA   (12.05.09)
What's in it for Syria? Why should the Syrians waste time, breath, and resources on useless conferences with the zionists? There is nothing to negotiate; soon Muslims and Christians together will liberate the Holy Land from Zionism and Syria will get its Jawlan Heights back through military victory.
6. Talks with Syria? Certainly yes: talks about Peace for Peace
Eitan ,   Qatzrin, Israel   (12.05.09)
from which all parties will benefit tremendously. But if Syria has in mind to regain control over the Golan, they can forget about it. The Golan was used by Syria as a launching pad from which it attacked Israel in three major wars: 1948, 1967 and 1973. In each case not only the Golan was used but Syria broke international laws and singed agreements with Israel. Syria, incidentally, controlled the Golan for much less time than Israel: 1946 to 1967 vs. 1967 to 2009 respectively. Why should Israel hand over the territory that provides it with a degree of strategic defensive depth in light of such background. I don't know a country that would comply with Syrian's demands, thus Peace for Peace is the only realistic option.

To answer your question, Read Isaiah 46:10. Then read the first division of this Shabbat.s Torah portion. If you don't get it the first time, read it again. You will eventually see it and your question will be answered. There is nothing new under the sun.
8. Is the PM Bibi or Livni they are starting to sound alike
zionist forever   (12.05.09)
Everyday their policies seem to be getting more and more alike. If he agrees to share the premiership with her the policy won't change but he can loose the right wing coalition in favour of a Labour / Kadima one. Bibi it seems is starting to take up more and more of a leftist agenda. First a full freeze of settlements in the Yeshe ( something neither Livni or Olmert offered ) and in exchange he is getting nothing from either the US or the arabs. He is agreeing to an even more disgusting deal for Shalit than Olmert was willing to accept in 2 years. Hamas have put up their price and now Bibi the hard man is about to pay it. Less than 2 weeks ago he was giving assurances there is no way he would release Bargouti. Now it seems if he agrees to go into exile he will get his pardon. Now he is agreeing to talk with Assad despite a promise that he would not give away the Golan and with Turkish mediation which he previously ruled out because he rightly said Turkey could not be trusted. Since he made those comments Turkey has also held war games with Syria for the first time whilst refusing to hold with Israel. They have committed air force support to Iran if Israel attacked its nuclear facilities, agreed to let Iran place early warning stations in their territory and will share inteligence ( on Israel ) Now though we can trust Turkey to be an independent mediator. So far the only promise he hasn't caved in on is Jerusalem but at this rate how long till he does?
9. Eitan, historically challenged as usual...
BBSNews ,   Charlotte, NC   (12.05.09)
...Moshe Dayan long ago admitted the Golan Heights was simply stolen because kibbutzniks coveted the land. And then there's that other inconvenient fact you left out as usual: 'territory acquired by war is inadmissible' And yet one more important tidbit, the "annexation" by Israel of the Golan Heights is illegal and null and void. See UNSCR 497. It is for all of the above reasons that Israel will be giving back to Syria it's stolen property and then Israel can be at peace with Syria. Your nonsense has no bearing whatever on the reality of the situation.

Which international law allowed the Syrian military the right to sit atop the Golan Heights and bomb Jewish farms and communities below from 1948-1967? The kibbutzniks worked hard to farm the land below and did not provoke these bomb attacks. The Golan fourishes under Israeli rule and for the most part, this border is peaceful. Eitan is correct. Oh, and please post the direct quote from Moshe Dayan and cite your source.

zionist forever   (12.05.09)
It doesn't really matter what the UN or anybody else says about Israels control of the Golan the simple fact is that possession is 9 tenths of the law. ISRAEL CONTROLS THE GOLAN SYRIA IS TO WEAK TO TAKE BY FORCE AND WONT TRY. THE ONLY WAY ISRAEL WILL GIVE UP THE GOLAN IS IF ISRAEL WANTS TO GIVE IT UP
12. Cynthis, if you don't know it, then why are you...

...commenting about Syria? How can you intelligently write about Syria and the Golan Heights if you don't know basic source material? Here's an excerpt, ask Ynet to repost the rest: "Never mind that [when asked that Syrians initiated the war from the Golan Heights]. After all, I know how at least 80 percent of the clashes there started. In my opinion, more than 80 percent, but let's talk about 80 percent. It went this way: We would send a tractor to plough someplace where it wasn't possible to do anything, in the demilitarized area, and knew in advance that the Syrians would start to shoot. If they didn't shoot, we would tell the tractor to advance farther, until in the end Syrians would get annoyed and shoot. And then we would use artillery and later the air force also, and that's how it was. I did that, and Laskov and Chara [Zvi Tsur, Rabin's predecessor as chief of staff] did that, Yitzhak did that, but it seems to me that the person who most enjoyed these games was Dado [David Elzar, OC Northern Command, 1964-69]." 13. Cynthia, also on the Golan in 1967...
BBSNews ,   Charlotte, NC   (12.06.09)
...the USS Liberty figures prominently. "Adm. Thomas Moorer, a former chief of naval operations and chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, wrote in a memorandum on June 8, 1997, the 30th anniversary of the attack, that Israel deliberately attacked to hide its intentions in the war. ``I am confident that Israel knew the Liberty could intercept radio messages from all parties and potential parties to the ongoing war, then in its fourth day, and that Israel was preparing to seize the Golan Heights from Syria despite President Johnson's known opposition to such a move,'' Moorer wrote. ``I believe (then-Israeli Defense Minister) Moshe Dayan concluded that he could prevent Washington from becoming aware of what Israel was up to by destroying the primary source of acquiring that information, the USS Liberty.'' Israel took the strategic Syrian territory and still holds it 37 years later."
14. peace is necessary
roro ,   jerusalem   (12.06.09)
peace with syria, as with any of our olther neihbors, is necessary. i for one am sick and tired of the violence. if giving up the golan geights would give us peace with syria, then so be it.

I see you're up to your old tricks. You weren't able to address my question so you cut and paste nonsense from your favorite propaganda site, PalestineRemembered.com under Famous Zionist Quotes (Misquotes) at www.palestineremembered.com/Acre/Famous-Zionist-Quotes/Story649.html
