1. Astonishing that something so simple requires a law.

2. 1: It really does. Americans should be so lucky.

Try working as a pharmacist in a chain drug store with the toilet a football field distance away. My sister had to run to go to the toilet because the workload was so horrific, it was like being a one-armed paper hanger. A nearby toilet would have been such a help. She got a lot of medical problems from delaying using the toilet for hours. The State Board of Pharmacy said a toilet had to be on the premises....but made allowances for big box stores that had the toilet 50 to a hundred yards from the pharmacy case. My sister ended up with ulcerative colitis. Who cares? Workers in America are disposable. Sav-On Drugstores should be called Slave-On.

What does this say about working/living in Israel and working for Jews? Make Aliaya! yeah right. The fact that this seemingly non-issue had to be made into a law in order to protect a citizens or should I say slaves most basic human rights (to go to the washroom when nature calls) is really disgusting. When my friends working as security guards told me that they had to work 10- 12 plus hour shifts (without getting paid overtime because they were forced to sign a contract that gave up that right before being hired) and were not allowed to go to the bathroom I nearly fell over. No wonder they hate it here. When I worked at a call center they actually timed us when we went to the washroom. If my employer limited my use of the bathroom I'd _______ on his or her desk. This issue is feasting material for Jew haters and Israel bashers.

While it's certainly an outrage that a law would be necessary to treat workers with dignity and respect, let's not forget that many of the Israel-bashers will be from countries that often employ very young children under primitive and inhumane conditions, so they're hardly in a position to pass judgment on Israel. And even some of those countries who regard themselves as being extremely civilized (including my own) will set up shop in countries that exploit these children. So that makes them equally culpable in contributing to the problem.

Permit me to take the opportunity to inform you that it was not until 1998 that the United States Postal Service permitted "bathroom breaks" for individuals working on the mail-sorting line. Since the advent of scanners and barcodes (rather a late arrival to the USPS) the point has become moot, but before you all jump on the anti-Israel bandwagon, do take note of the fact that the United States Postal Service (and, for all I know, other federal agencies) had identical restrictions.
