1. Barak's reaction when Joseph's Tomb was atatcked
eddie ,   london UK   (12.11.09)
It was quite alright for the Palestinians to desecrate Joseph's tomb, Barak simply retreated, and surrendered it to them. Now, the coward is talking tough against the attackers of the mosque!
2. Ashamed
(12.11.09)
As a religious and right-wing person, I'm shocked by this awefull incident. We should all be shocked by this act as we are when a synagogue is damage, and as we expect from the non-jews to be horrified when some of them damage our synagogues. Yesha Council is right by clearly denouncing this act. No excuse for such an act.
3. We Didn't Start The Fire

4. An abhorrent act.
Roman ,   Lod, Israel   (12.11.09)
5. Baryonim
End of Days ,   US   (12.11.09)
One rogue can destroy a great deal of good. Tragically, the Baryonim (along with all the other actors) are back. For those who don't know, the Baryonim were "nationalist" Jewish rebels (agains the government AND the leading Rabbis) whose actions led to the destruction of the 2nd Temple.
6. Jews know what this feels like so we should severely punish
JO   (12.11.09)
the men who did this. Jewish houses of worship are frequently targets of such abuse so every effort should be made to find the people who are responsible. It is not right.
7. legal or illegal settlers; all in HEBREW
observer   (12.11.09)
Hebrew slurs were sprayed on the walls that said: "We will burn all of you." The words "price tag" were also scrawled on the walls. "Price tag" is the slogan adopted some months ago by extremist settlers who carry out reprisals against Palestinians in response to the evacuation of settlement structures by Israeli defense forces.
8. The Pals torched the mosque themselves
Skeptic   (12.11.09)
as a ruse to blame the Jews and inflame passions. We've seen these acts before. Al-Dura comes immediately to mind.
9. Who did it?
Israel Israeli ,   Tel Aviv   (12.11.09)
The facts are that a mosque was slightly damaged in a fire and no one has any idea who did it. Strangely, YNET mentions that the fire was "possibly set by settlers" but does not mention that it was no less possibly set by Arabs, police, GSS or Left-wing provocateurs. In fact, the name "Efi" was spray painted on the mosque. As everyone in Israel knows, "Efi" is a popular name in the Israeli police and GSS.
10. Burning Mosque
AHMAD ,   iSRAEL   (12.11.09)
If I understand you will, I think that you mean that this deed is justified, the moslems don't have the right even to complain otherwise they are anti-semitic and then they deserve much barbaric reaction from your majesty and your peers. Don't you understand that such a deed can lead to similiar rection, is that what you want. I wonder how racists like you are given the stage to express their weird opinions.
11. where was Barak, when joseph's tomb was destroyed?
chaim schonbrun ,   brooklyn ny   (12.11.09)
Israel the only country where it's defence minister is busy all day defending the enemy and not his own people, in any other normal country this leftist coward would be rotting in jail for high treason, but in this crazy country called Israel he is the defence minister. i weep for you israel
12. reminds me of Joseph;s tomb
golan ,   modiin   (12.11.09)
those who condemned the desecration of Joseph;s tomb should condemn this. Arabs, leftists, and other anti-Semites and "critics" of Israel who stayed quiet over the destruction of Joseph;s tomb should cork it! I condemn the vandalism of the mosque.
13. defilement of a chag
avramele   (12.11.09)
As the terrorist goldstein, yimach shmo, defiled Purim so these vandals have now defiled Chanukah. May there punishment be in both this world and the world to come.
14. Where are my Gush Katif Shuls???
KACH 613 ,   Judah, Israel   (12.11.09)
I myself would not do something like this, but look what they did to are synagogues in Gush Katif, repeating desecration of Josef’s tomb. I have no sympathy for them they don’t belong here. On a side note for some reason every mosque that was in Israel before the 67 war is still standing even though they where a banded years ago, you can see this all over the country. Moetzet Yesha are a bunch of cowerds fof condeming this.
15. During the Gaza op, synagogues across the world vandalized
usa   (12.11.09)
and swasticas sprayed painted on windows and jewish tomb stones, nobody ever gives a s...t, and nobody cares. so why does everyone up in arms about a few wild jews.
16. Dissenting point of view
Tzvi-Hersch Blum ,   Los Angeles, CA USA   (12.11.09)
The Qoran teaches to burn the infidel or convert him at the sword. It teaches that the rock and tree will cry out "There is a Jew hiding behind me. Come and kill him." So if any political-pseud-religion as Islam is, can teach such hatred, should Muslims be surprised at a less hostile and non-universal threat contrived out of bitterness at one sided concessions that Jews constantly make for an elusive and absolutely impossible peace between Jews who follow the Torah and the Muslims who are bent on annnhilation of the Jewish people and ALL infidels, which expresses Islam's self-righteous, untenable concept of peace? Muslims went into synagogues and burned and bombed and shot dead Jews in Turkey, In India (Mumbai) and in Argentina and don't forget Chebron, etc. !
17. while you're at it, bring to justice those who destroyed jos
ralph   (12.11.09)
joseph's tomb.
18. #9
observer   (12.11.09)
when security forces arrived to evacuate an illegal outpost, settlers from across the West Bank gathered to try to hinder the operation; however, many arrived too late to participate. Now, activist committees are calling for all settlers, including those who cannot make it to an evacuation in time, to help wreak havoc throughout the West Bank. Recommended methods include arson and road-blocking to force troops to abandon the evacuation and deal with the protesters’ actions. the new anti-evacuation campaign, called either Mutual Responsibility or Price Tag, was initiated by several organizations on the right wing of the settler movement and has been publicized through notices posted on settlement boards and in local newspapers. The groups include Youth for the Land of Israel, which claims to have 10,000 members, as well as the Samaria Settlers’ Committee and the Binyamin Settlers’ Committee.
19. # 3
Birdi ,   Israel   (12.11.09)
I hope the settlers did not start the fire.
20. Mosque Arson
David ,   South Africa   (12.11.09)
Cowards will always remain cowards, why disappear after the madness. In an era when nations are thinking of civilisation and climate change, backward beings are still behaving backwardly. Come to light. Can you stand it, if the same price tag strategy is used on you, remember the people you have offended understand this strategy better than you. Why start something, you know very well you cannot finish. By the way, which leaders do you claimed condenmed the vandalism. Ha ,ha,ha,ha, they are more than happy and grateful. No condition is forever.
21. No one will be punished
David ,   Australia   (12.11.09)
Settlers are rarely punished for committing acts of violence towards the Palestinians. A few may be brought in for "questioning", but that's it. Settlers who attack Palestinians or their property go free under the Israeli "justice" system.
22. no proof! They do same to other religions!
joe shmoe   (12.11.09)
how many times did they bomb! torch! stab! Shoot! terrorize! other religions. guess barak doesn't care about any religion more than his beloved left wing ideological islamic beliefs.
23. mosqe
hersch friedman ,   brooklyn usa   (12.11.09)
i did not hear any moslem outcry when the tomb of joseph was destroyed
24. Here We Go Again
Iberdis ,   Philarania   (12.11.09)
Can there still be anyone so naive and gullible that they really believe "settlers" and not the Shin Bet were beyond the burning of the mosque?
25. #7 - There's no proof to your claims
William ,   Israel   (12.11.09)
There is no proof that "price tag" was ever used as a rallying cry by settlers in response to "pal" demands for a building freeze. There is still speculation over what the Hebrew writing said, which IDF soldiers denied saying "we'll burn you all" - I guess you (willfully) missed that part of the article. Further, a good number of "palestinians" can speak and write in Hebrew because of their work inside Israel. Yet hardly any Israeli Jews can speak or write Arabic.
26. #10 - Ahmad - to whom are you speaking to?
William ,   Israel   (12.11.09)
It seems like almost every part of Israeli society interviewed has decried this action, either on moral grounds or because it disrupts actions towards peace. Sadly, not even among Israeli Arabs, was the torching and destruction of Joseph's Tomb by "palestinians" condemned. The real tension in posts here is how racist and one-sided Arabs are in demanding rights and services they wouldn't even give to others.
27. #24 - Apparently, just you are the "enlightened one"
William ,   Israel   (12.11.09)
No one has ever claimed, even from Arabs, that the Shin Bet did this. And how can they, when they're so busy forcing climate change on the world in order to destroy Arabs? Dummy.
28. a good settler did it, for he didn't leave a trace
observer   (12.11.09)
29. #10
Eran ,   Singapore   (12.12.09)
Ahmad, this is what the so called Pals have been teaching the settlers.Burn and Kill Israelis in synagogues and Churches. This is the reaction. At least they did not kill nobody like the Pal terrorists. Six wars; three rejected opportunities for a two-state solution, sixty-one plus years of terror -- I do believe that the Palestinian Arabs have made their true wishes clear. No more bites at the apple. There will be no more war when you will respond to Israel's requests.
30. To Ehud Barak
Eran ,   Singapore   (12.12.09)
I’m sure many Israeli people can’t wait for the opportunity to thank you properly at the next general election.
