Muslims attacked Christians and beheaded those that did not convert. Christians launched crusades on Muslims to take back Jerusalem holy sites. Jews were the targets of Muslim hatred in the Middle East and N. Africa for centuries. The only places where there was "peace" were locations where one group ruled with a heavy hand and the rest kept their mouths shut. Most Jews lived in "peace" among Arabs when they kept their mouths shut, paid their Dhimmi tax, and acknowledged the supremacy of Islam (as required). Same too in Christian lands in the Middle Ages. Pace - "peace" among people does not necessarily mean "equal rights" or "right of self-determination". Canada might be at "peace" with their brethren but it isn't entirely a fair system.
