1. The people with the match
Ariel Ben Yochanan ,   Kfar Tapuah, Efraim,   (12.14.09)
B"H First of all, we do not know who are the people with the mach. Chances are that they are rightist Jews, but can be Arab provocateurs, Israeli leftists as well as government agencies. At this point, we don't know. However this may be besides the point. Orbach closes his article with the phrase: "No, the people with the match don’t understand it". I think they do. Whoever they are, they do understand and aim to create a somewhat new(er) balance of terror.
2. Proof Not Suspicion
Garrison ,   USA   (12.14.09)
People suspect bad people burned a mosque. This could have been set by people trying to set a new infitida also who are not Jews. Until you have absolute proof be careful not to judge as you are the the one falling into a trap by causing trouble.
3. Mr. Uri,
Noor ,   Palestine   (12.14.09)
it is permissible, beyond any doubt, to attribute the same concept to the 61 year old occupation of Palestinian lands and to the ongoing blatant human rights violations initiated by the Israelis. Whether Israeli right- wing fascists doubt the historical existence of Palestine or not is irrelevant. The implications are still in place. No justice=no peace. No justice= ongoing violence, whether justified or not. It's time that the innocent Israeli civilian population wake up and begin to elect leaders that will help assist the peace process. Israel cannot stand the ongoing erosion of its military power and international support for it. Israel may have the upper hand militarily in the region, and there are no two ways about that, but it's power has eroded and the once recognized invincible army of the Middle East is now being overshadowed by present realities. Israel is increasingly unable to deal effectively with its enemies. The years 1987, 2006, and 2009 provide a perfect historical and analytical perspective for such a position that Israel's power is going down the tubes.
4. A fool and his wisdom
Rabbi Yosef ,   JErusalem, Israel   (12.14.09)
It is sometimes better to remain silent and thought a fool then like Uri speak and remove all doubt that he is a fool.
5. They bomb us, burn Josephs Tomb, and where are the Jews?
WRP   (12.14.09)
Are they marching in the streets? Are they rampaging through the cities like Arab youth in Paris and London and Madrid? Overturning cars and smashing windows over .....cartoons? Until we make them know that shooting Gaza schoolchildren is intolerable, and blowing up pizza eaters is unmentionable, why do we shed tears for them? OF course burning the mosque was and is wrong and criminal. But ask Muslims if burning Josephs tomb was 'wrong' and 'criminal' you'll get all sorts of justifications and rationalizations. I"m tired of being the only Good Christian in the Jewish religion. Aren't you?
6. to #3 you forget i takes 2 to tango
ghostq   (12.14.09)
you blaming only Israel but Arabs took great deal in the situation I can name you many errors along History that you did, including murdering innocent Israelis you keep igmoring the violence the Arab did toward the jews way before61 years, and that including excpelling jews from TA in 1914, and on top the only poplation the pali except r Muslims all the chritians run away from the teritory you became arab Muslims while in Israel there r Muslims and christians from all kinds including Bahais, Armenians and so on. can you tell me that pali society is open minded? I don't think so. so untill you will do house check first only than go to others in complants.
7. 2 wrongs making right
The Count ,   Transylvania, Romani   (12.14.09)
Again the comments section fills with people vastly more engaged in justifying the possible actions of the crime, blurring the potential culpability, and ultimately continuing the great talkback tradtition of avoiding the truth to stifle any kind of genuine debate. Nobody is blameless, and equally nobody is willing to take the moral high ground. Good luck with this one guys. You're obviously so correct, and all so obviously the chosen people, there's no way anyone can lose.
8. The "residents of Judea/Samaria" DIDN'T DO IT
WAKE UP! ,   Israel   (12.14.09)
Go look for the REAL criminals (this happens every time someone wants to make the "settlers" look bad, and they can never find the guilty party. Sound fishy? You bet.
9. Noor - what 1987, 2006 & 2009 prove beyond a doubt
JPS ,   Efrat   (12.14.09)
...is that Arabs are willing to die for nothing. 1987 brought about Oslo, which only showed that the Palestinians can't run their own affairs and prefer to stab each other in the back rather than build a nation. 2006 proved that Hezbollah is stupid and makes mistakes. Narallah himself said "ooops, if i had known that the IDF would bludgeon us in return then maybe we wouldn't have broken international law and attacked the IDF and Israeli civilians" And what 2009 showed was how stupid Hamas is firing it's small but lethal rockets at Israeli civilians (a war crime, as Goldstone said) and bringing a Lebanon-like destruction on Gaza. What does this prove? That Palestinians and Hezbollah are willing to sacrifice thousands of men, women and children so that they can dance in the street and say "we beat the IDF! we beat the IDF". Well, you didn't. You did manage to kill a lot of people and bring destruction on your own heads.
10.  Average Europeans and Israelis are FED UP
Trumpeldor ,   eurabyeh   (12.14.09)
with mosques Tensions is mounting in europre and "leaders" and "leftist elites" fear that confrontation time is coming Average Israelis know the rules
11. TO SEPARETE PEOPLE FROM STATES
Atilla Karagözoğlu   (12.14.09)
I think this is important. LETS PUT ALL FIRES AT GARBIAGES FOR NOW, and and lets try to understand WHAT IS HUMAN ? human is unlucky created one yes it is. human human born in this world human lives in this world when time comes, human leaves this world where human goes when he leaves ? only holy books tell about it but we never truly have a evidance where human go human dont come world with all knowledge about life human born as child than learns all gues what ! it takes long time to get know all some human have okay life but all human make mistakes all. all. all. FOR EXAMPLE ME ! IF I MAKE MISTAKE, WOULD YOU BLAME ON MY COUNTRY, ALWAYS ? I hope not. *** LETS TALK ABOUT STATES this is an interesting deep subject. NO STATE IS INNOCENT WHY ATİLLA ? because no state is that open you cant see HEARTS OF STATES THAT CLEAR every state has its own deep state EVEN MY LAND some people do act as if they own the state and mostly they act WITHOUT MERCY. for example my land loves me. but but if my deep state think that MY DEATH WILL BE HELP MY LAND they happly kill me to help my state. *** IS THERE ANY WAY TO SEPARETE THE STATES FROM THEIR OWN DEEP STATES ? ANSWER : NO. *** in this case I dont know who did that. BUT ! IF SOME ISRAELI ORDINARY PEOPLE DID THAT ! IT IS MUCH OKAY THAT DEEP ISRAEL DID IT. *** anyway its very cold here -3 humudity level is at alarm level in winters here. ı was at the garden to smoke cigarette but I wish I didnt go. YOU KNOW WHAT I CARE NOW ? I feel so sad for people who lives out side , who have no home HOMELESS PEOPLE THEY MOSTLY KIDS HOW THEY LIVE IN VERY COLD WHEATHER ! ***
12. WHAT WRITES ON THE BURNED PAGE ! ANYONE READ ARABIC ?
ATİLLA KARAGÖZOĞLU   (12.14.09)
WHO TOOK THE PHOTO OF THE BURNED PAGE ? Palestinians ? some christian reporters ? I DONT THINK JEWISH REPORTERS TOOK THE PHOTO. yes. I want to know what the writing says on the left page. why atilla ? I JUST WANT TO KNOW WHAT MESSAGE WAS IN REPORTER'S MIND WHILE TAKING THAT AS THE PHOTO. HE MAY TOOK SOME OTHER PAGES BUT HE TOOK THIS ONE.
13. # 3- what is your justice, Noor?
Agnostic ,   Israel   (12.14.09)
The prevalent interpretation of the term that is officially pronounced by Palestinians is Israel's demise. Let's stick to the international law, the occupation has "only" been taking place since 1967, not 1948. The so called "refugees" aren't refuges in accordance to the international law. [http://www.jcpa.org/jl/vp485.htm]. Moreover, someone from your culture is likely to the last to preach us about Human-Rights or mutual respect due to his intolerance Islamic religion (in a case you're Muslim) and the everlasting megalomania regarding the conflict: "what is mine mine, and what's yours is also mine". Do yourself a favor and stop westernising your society, the Arab society in generally has a very bad reputation vis-a-vis none-Arabs, so hold reforms from within before preaching "enlightenment" to your cousins. Of course, Israel needs to elect new leaders, but you should recognise our right for the country, no shortcuts here. Besides, Islam needs to be reformed as well, the rabid intolerance towards none-Muslims is a global epidemic that must be urgently resolved by you. The conflict is not "just about land", your mesmerization attempts aren't fooled any sane person, though sworn anti-Israelis. I support Palestinian state within 1967 borders encapsulated with special security arrangements. However, nothing is going to happen, unless Israel will draw its way out and your people will stop their vision of Israel's destruction. Nobody can help someone who refuses to help himself/herself, relevant to both sides, especially yours.

17. Someone in Israel has a set.
David ,   USA, exile   (12.14.09)
The more I study Torah the more I discover how much HaShem hates ba'al and the crowd that worships it. If the person responsible for this act of burning this altar to hasatan is found he should be decorated.

20. Torching of Mosque
Yoel ,   New York, NY   (12.14.09)
The fear of Muslim reprisals against Jews & other non-Muslims is the worst possible reason to do or not do or say or not say. What any bully relies on to keep others in line is fear. I'm not suggesting that it's ok to torch a mosque or to offend any Muslim, or for that matter, any human being, but to act or not act out of a sense of fear only serves to enable and strengthen the bully. Yes, be respectful! But no, not out of fear.
21. Did you torch Mosques you! Uri Orbach?
Tayfun_Turkey ,   Istanbul   (12.15.09)

22. amazing
tom ,   toronto, canada   (12.17.09)
the perpetrators of this arson will be found and charged. eventually. in the meantime, it is amazing to see the orgy of condemnation from the arabs (who never seem to condemn suicide bombings of worshippers and mosques in iraq or afganistan or pakistan or yemen or..., let alone attacks on churches or synagogues). are they so quick to speak out in this case because it's an opportunity y to bash israel? and even more amazing is the israeli response, such as this one - apologize first, get the facts later. why the rush to judgement? why self-flagellate, when it's far from clear who is responsible? wouldn't a simple declaration that everything would be done to find and punish the perpetrators be more than enough? this immediate and kneejerk apologizing merely paints israel in the role of dhimmi, and encourages islamist delusions of superiority. sadly, ehud olmert seems to h ave spawned a culture of shame and a behaviour of inferiority.
