1. False Bravado
The purpose of the sanctions is to dry up the long list of providers. This is at least the second year Iran has rationed gas to the public and a couple months ago, they cut back further stating they needed to reserve gas to fuel planes in case of an attack. This would be a good time for countries who purchase oil and gas from Iran to secure alternate sources.

would understand how to seriously shut up and be pliable.

3. The absurdity of sanctions
On that Iran is right. The U.S and West governments are too dumb to see otherwise. It's up to Israel, or Iran goes nuclear and the PM's credibility is gone. The west can sit back and say "We tried and failed "

4. IRANIANS ARE USED TO.................#1
Sacrifices unlike you people,Cynthia. It does not mean that the Iranians are going to bow down to these sanctions and abondon their peaceful nature of Nuclear research. No way,Cynthia!! In face of these sanctions you will see what will develope into more resolute attitude of the majority of the Iranians and make them accomodate these hardships. That is what the Iranians have amply demonstrated in the last 3 decades but the thick skulls in the West don't seem to absorb this trend.

6. If only Israel had a backbone
if only Israel had the backbone Iran shows to stand up to the world pressure which threatens her survival with a 23 Islamic state in the heartland of Israel.
Instead Israel only capitulates and appeases under the slightest pressure.A recipie for disaster as it exudes weakness and invites more threats and pressure.
This has proven to be a losing gambit as more pressure comes on the capitulation nation and not less .

7. #4 You're out of touch with reality
From the safety of your new European homeland, you expect Iranians to sacrifice so the Islamic Regime can lead Iran into further economic isolation and ruin. 30+ years and over 6 billion dollars later spent on the nuclear fiasco and who knows how many billions spent to fund two proxy wars against Israel. Ahmadinejad originally ran on a platform to improve the economy, end corruption and bring oil money to the people. He failed miserably on all promises.
When sanctions fully kick in and impact middle to upper class Iranians, you'll see even larger crowds taking to the streets in opposition to the Regime.
