1. Brown promised to change the law years ago
jason ,   london uk   (12.16.09)
This situation has been coming up for years and Brown has always promised to change the law. The last excuse was they couldn't change it after the gaza war because they wouldn't get the support to change the law in parliament. There promises to change it mean nothing.
2. Yes and we have a place for her to stay in Holloway
Ezra ,   London   (12.16.09)
all at the Queens expense
3. brown wont because he needs as many votes possible
for election   (12.16.09)

Tahl ,   Ashdod, Israel   (12.16.09)
Maybe the Muslim voters, but they are traditional Labor supporters.
6. Don't bet on it
steve from raleigh   (12.16.09)
Gordon can't be trusted. And even if he's sincere, the law in UKistan is against it. Israel should downgrade relations with the UK to the level of any random developing country.
7. UK and the "law"

" Israel should downgrade relations with the UK to the level of any random developing country. "
11. Gordon Brown... the Voice of Kirkcaldy.. always happy to
RJBH ,   Methil   (12.16.09)
With War Criminals.. as he is one himself. The Kirk of St. Brycedale is Ashamed of this son of the manse... in a way it would never have been possible to think.. while Broon was a young aspiring politician. The Kirk I once attended.. I now hang my Head in Shame... and I guess many others of the Congregation feel the same way.
12. Come on Brown!
Shlomo Kamra   (12.16.09)
Don't be so gutless! don't change the law-attack the war criminals! Don't be like Australia who welcomes Israeli war criminals with open arms! This is the chance to show zionists that they cannot act with impunity and immunity when they slaughter innocent women, children and the elderly in such a wholesale fashion. What would you do if an IDF tank destroyed your home Gordon-laugh it off and invite their mates to do the same to your neighbours???? Come on world-the time to act against the war criminals is now!!
13. They imprisoned her father and now this. Don't trust them.

Meanwhile, Muslim terrorists and those that support them like Yusuf al-Qaradawi are welcome with open arms in Britain and seen as 'honoured guests' by British elected officials like the anti-Semite Ken Livingstone. The law wont be changed because people are scared stiff of Muslims in the UK, they are a sizeable voting block. If that were not a consideration, the British have become so politically correct that it nothing can be said that Muslims deem to find offensive in case it encourages them to strap bombs to themselves and blow people up. It really is frightening living in the UK and witnessing the increasing power and influence that the Muslims have here.
15. to #12 I knew someone will TB the famous
ghostq   (12.16.09)

16. 13# wasn;t because he was a terrorist?
Ezra ,   London   (12.16.09)
17. Oh shut up Sam
Michael ,   UK   (12.16.09)
Standard drivel from someone so insignificant that they have to resort to xenophobia; always the last resort of the truly worthless. Not that I agree with this arrest warrant - a piece of complete idiocy that will damage our relations with Israel no matter how hard the government is back-pedalling (and they are doing that so hard at the moment it is almost comical to watch). But people like you are a waste of space.
18. meaning Livni most welcome in UK after 100 years
observer   (12.16.09)
19. Brown lies again
Sammy ,   UK   (12.16.09)
UK leaders like Brown are so dependent upon suckling the teat of the major Zionist donors (see the recent Channel 4 programme on this) that they will even promise what they cannot by law deliver. The UK is a nation of laws (unlike Israel where settlers kill Palestinians and steal their land with impunity). The UK judiciary is independent, so Brown has no authority to "change" the situation whereby Israeli war criminals like Livni, Olmert, etc., who are do not enjoy diplomatic immunity are subject to arrest. I would love for Livni to visit the UK soon... and end up staying a very long time.

What gives the UK the right to issue a warrant in the first place? It's no secret that the UK is being overtaken by Arabs, but it's really an overkill to want to appease them by bending over backwards and giving into their stupid baseless demands. Why does the UK think it has any jurisdiction over what happens in this country? And why do they not issue a warrant for wanted Hamas murderers and that Nutter in Iran? What a bunch of misfits. They just hosted Gadaffi – the man who was behind the Lockerbie bombing back in the 80s – the man who was responsible for the cold blooded murder of British, Scottish and American citizens.
21. Its a trap welcome in open arms into
tea man ,   marjayoun   (12.16.09)
London central jail ! ooops
22. Did anyone bother to fact check the Guardian story?
Danny   (12.16.09)
because apparently the court service and police denied the existence of the warrant.
23. @danny 22: the warrant is real
Sammy ,   UK   (12.16.09)
The warrant was issued because Livni was to speak in London, in preparation for her arrival, but then withdrawn ONLY because Livni canceled her plans -- there is no legal authority to issue the warrant until she is in UK jurisdiction. The warrant will presumably be reactivated the moment she steps on UK soil.
24. Ynet what a pity you did not publish my posts.
James ,   Israel   (12.17.09)
The two I sent spoke of PM Brown and his many failings put upon him by his erstwhile colleague Blair. Plus the fact he is a mild mannered man--at least externally. He portrays his hidden aggresiveness by showing his outward mildness. He is not a bad man. As far as the accusations on Livni: Since it was done by the courts, not by its Govt..Don't we have the same problem in Israel with our courts who makes decisions without the approval of the Knesset et al? Anyway, the continuation by Britain on various "boycotts" are beyond the pale.Especially referring to arrests of our officers preventing them to enter the UK..with a threat of ARREST. Having failed with the first, they found an important person..i.e Ms.Livni. That shows how they pursue this affair humbling Israel. Desperate to please the Islamists who live among them. This is the crux of the matter.Elections are due soon and perhaps the Conservatives will win the next round. Thank you
25. Criminal Welcome in UK
Jeffrey Levy ,   Needham, MA USA   (12.17.09)
The UK has made a good start by applying universal jurisdiction principles to Israeli war criminal Tsipi Livni. Now it's time to apply the same principles to Benjamin Netanyahu and other planners of last year's Gaza slaughter, and to Tony Blair, for the crimes he aided and abetted in invading and occupying Iraq.
