Quite true that Israel's enemies have very effectively used the world's media and "intellectual elites" to demonize and delegitimize Israel. But as Gen. Yaalon also recognizes, official Israeli representatives also contribute to the problem. I've heard Israeli Consul Generals recommend Tom Segev's book as essential reading, and the Jewish Agency has an entire unit whose sole purpose seems to be to pull down the underwear of Israel in public. It's great that the Israeli government has recognized this aspect of the problem and is actively addressing it. Counter propaganda with truth - and state the truth with pride, not apologies.
