What could his motivation be to turn the info. over to a blogger??!! Looking for some internet fame .. what? At least the guy confessed. I feel sorry for his family, they must be feeling terrible about this.
2. Leibowitz gets 20 months
Judith ,   Rishon, Israel   (12.18.09)
Leibowitz provides secret info to blogger and gets 20 months in jail, and Pollard received life. I just don't understand why the difference in sentences.
3. FBI-CIA-etc etc
Uzi ,   Israel   (12.18.09)
If I were the head of any of those agencies (sorry to say) but I would not employ any Israelis or even jews in any sensitive position. They (we) proved to be untrustable. Thats what I say, like it or not. Just like ministers in Israel leaking any and all info to the public for some reason Israelis think that they are allowed to do the same all over the world. Shame on you, you must change, Idiots. Thats right, like it or not.
4. #2 perhaps the difference in level of treason?
(12.18.09)
Pollard committed serious treason against the United States and got the sentence he deserved! If you can't do the time don't do the crime!

Why? Because Pollard put the entire intelligence community of the USA in a very vulnerable position and this small fry's info was just a minimum security breach, although he had high security clearance.

Give it to a civil liberties oriented blog, they tip off reporter to potential abuse, and then highlight the article? Noticed on his lawyer website, Liebowitz mentions that he interned at the ACLU as a law student at American University."

Hansen was the Soviet spy who betrayed CIA operatives in the Soviet Union. It was pinned on Pollard since the Soviet mole was doing the investigation within the FBI. Pollard was screwed by the USA and Israel and is basically in prison on 'technicality' -- his Arab-American lawyer had failed to make a timely appeal and all the appeal courts now refuse to reopen the case. Pollard was never tried in the court of law and no case of treason was proved against him. There was a plea bargain agreement , just like in the current case, but the judge disregarded it based on a secret letter from Casper Weinberger. Perhaps 50 years from now we will know the truth why Pollard was sacrificed.

This is really sad story of pining some one the way it happen to Poor Pollard. CAspaer bring odd memory's to many Israelis. Hope will not take 50 years. Hope to see him free soon. Thinking of giutmo & gizmoz coming now to US soil makes me wonder . Did Polard stood for a fiar trial at all? They will he didn't.

Apparently the "Judeo-Nazi" mentality of which he spoke describes his grandson to a T. Oh, and here's another question: what are the odds the original "refuser" would have said that soldiers refusing orders to evacuate settlers would be violating chain of command?
