1. less about an oil field more about nukes

If Iran can start making diplomatic problems that are going to affect Iraq like arguing over an oil field then he gives the US another problem to deal with. Also the US cannot threaten sanctions if this is an issue based on legality because Iran is saying it owns something & the US disputes it. There is no way the US will send its own troops to drive out the Iranians because the last thing obama wants is a shooting match with Iran. The UN is worthless, they can say its Iraqi land but Iran will just keep their troops in place and say no it belongs to us. Sadam Hussain said Kuwait was one of Iraqs former provinces so his troops had a right to be there. The palestinians act as if they are an ancient arab race and before 1948 what is now Israel was an arab state that they ruled. Syria believes Lebanon is a former Syrian province and has always refused to recognize Lebanon as an independent state. This sort of thing goes on all over the Middle East. If the US wants Iran out of those oil fields Irans price wll be closer diplomatic relations and that is going to be that the US eases off on the nuclear issue and makes it one about Israel. Knowing Obama if Iran offered him an ultimatum like that he would probably accept.
2. Iran the oil field is ours

Iran is testing the Iraqi gov, and Obama too, and seeing how far the USA will bend to Iranian demands. The Iraqi army needs to stand up to Iran and Obama needs to show he supports the Iraqis.
3. As govt denies incursion, army justifies it

Welcome to Arab politics 101. It's obvious what is happening is Arab whitewashing of facts to manipulate the Western media. Testimonies cite Iran forces there, the Iranian military website justifies taking the oil rig, then Iranian leaders say it never happened and blamed it on "foreign forces". Imagine, the rest of the Mullah regime killing people by the thousands and crying "the foreign forces are making me do it!" Rather than deal with the 1967 lines, it seems the UN is really needed on the border of Iran-Iraq - that's the truly disputed border. Iraq - fight for your sovereignty. Iran is no friend!
4. ISN'T THIS JUST HOW WWII STARTED?

the sudetenland was german... or so the nazis claimed... and now this force majeur to steal iraq's oil fields. the persian lunatics are on a rampage and must be met head on with cruel force.
5. Iran

Next Iran will declare the Sudetenland an integral part of Iran - Whoops, that was Germany in 1938 - a country led by a megalomaniac bent on terrorizing neighbouring countries. Had Hitler been stopped in 1938 rather than allowed to get away with it... Sound familiar????
6. Germany

Does anybody remember Germany invading Czech Republic and Austria also claiming border dispute.....no??? Jesus Christ.........it WAS ONLY 70 years ago people wake the hell up!

Obama showing support for the Iraqis would mean promising to commit soldiers to fight off the Iranians if they would not withdraw diplomatically. He is trying to get out of Iraq not have to commit troops to another area. If Iran sats no Obama will have to walk away from Iraq then the last thng he wants to do is get into a war with Iran. Any fighting here would not be against terrorists it starting an entire new war with another country. Just like Chamberlin Obama will either turn a blind eye or he can defend Iraqs right to the oil field or go to war to get it back.

12. #7 - Maybe the gobal response should be....
William ,   Israel   (12.20.09)
an end to Iranian oil purchases. As long as Iran goes around stealing things from its neighbors (including several islands from UAE), and fomenting terrorism around the world, the sanctions on Iran should be absolute. You want Iraq's oil? Ok - but unless you can drink it or turn it into gas, it will be worthless. Iran, above even Climate Change, is the reason why the world should move from petroleum products immediately.
13. #8- So much for the US-led moral war
William ,   Israel   (12.20.09)
I agreed 100% with the US-led war in the region, but when a true illegal act is perpetrated by the resident evil and the US walks away from it....I am left in awe. How can any Western nation who claims to be both moral and working for democracy allow theft to happen in front of them and do nothing. This might as well be NYC when passer-bys are too busy with shopping or work to stop a mugging.
