31. Sarah B. H., Peres says you are hallucinating...
BBSNews ,   Charlotte, NC   (12.21.09)
...why would an "international expert" and arbitrator sully their reputation by being such a racist fool? Are you not afraid your clients will find out? Here you are again, advocating ethnic cleansing, and advocating that which Shimon Peres says is a "hallucination" that olde chestnut of "Jordan is Palestine". Here's an idea, Israel abides by the agreements it signed, and the relevant UN resolutions and customary international law and end its endless and illegal occupations? Then Israel gets away with 78% of the original mandate, gets peace, and get to mostly, keep its purity, and the Palestinians will finally have their right to self-determination, their land, and their resources. That's the only way to peace baby!
32. Dan, let me explain something to you...
BBSNews ,   Charlotte, NC   (12.21.09)
...if Israel annexes the West Bank, there will be all out regional war that there is no guarantee Israel could win. You claim to live here in the 'Sates, do you seriously think after how hard it was to get 30,000 more troops to Afghanistan that the US military will be sent to bail out Israel in the event they do something so stupid as to illegally annex the West Bank? I don't think this administration would answer the phone. And frankly, I don't think the last one would have in that case either. You and the others here are basically screaming for Israel to commit suicide, and that is why I will always question whether you folks really care about Israel or are you some sort of foreign agents planting crap just to muddy things up. "Palestinians should NOT be grated citizenship unless and until they convert to Judaism. " That's just stark raving lunacy, plain and simple.
33. hey canuck, land belongs to israel, arabs are
bernard ross ,   st anns bay, jamaica   (12.21.09)
receivers of stolen property and settled it in prior invasions. Therefore geneva convention applies retroactively to occupying arabs. Jews were removed byt romans and arabs and are now back.
34. This is insane and what the Palis really wanted all along
Vered, Israel   (12.21.09)
We're too unorganized to form our own State - let's take yours! Don't fall for it Israel, it's the real reason they have rejected every opportunity to have their own State.
35. Jewish majority law
Takan ,   Elat IL   (12.21.09)
Israel needs to annex all disputed land and give nationality to all living within the borders. But let's not forget why Israel was created in the first place, which was to give the Jews from all over the world a country where they would live, prosper and rule in a Jewish democracy. Israel is not a democracy “per se”, it is a Jewish democracy and therefore I would advise Jewish politicians to quickly vote a law that says that every decision needs to be agreed by the majority and by the majority of Jews as well. That way, the Jewish character of Israel would always be preserved by the Jewish majority, without being threatened by the birth rate of the minorities. These minorities of course should be treated equally to Jews, and should display civism and respect to the Jewish state of Israel, its symbols and its choices.
36. Dave in Europe
Kyle ,   Southpark, CO, USA   (12.21.09)
Please pull your head out of your tuchis and you will see that Israel is not a 100% Jewish state based on apartheid, but every state surrounding it is 100% Arab state based on Islamic apartheid.
37. #21 - Asleep during the Fatah party?
William ,   Israel   (12.21.09)
Incase you missed the festivities in the West Bank during the first congress of Fatah in a long time, not one person there declared they wanted Israel out of the West Bank...only. Each member declared they wanted Israel destroyed and its Jewish citizens GONE from the Middle East. Hamas has this in their charter. Hizbullah insists this is the only solution to the "palestinian" issue. Arafat said this right after he signed the Oslo Accords, to a large Muslim audience in South Africa. And PA TV mimics this exactly. So....to your claim that "palestinians" just want Israel out of their "occupied territory"...I say, bunk! Infact, a can give you many instances of "paletinians" saying they'd rather have Israel rule them then Hamas or PA, because of the corruption and brutality. But, you probably missed that article.
38. #21
frank ,   israel   (12.21.09)
you keep saying occupied terrorities. What terrorities are you referring to. The ones that were mandated to us in the 20s and then renaged. The ones where we were attacked and by virture of winning the war, 48, 56 67 and 73 are ours by rights, or are you referring to Toronto that sits on thousands of years of Indian lands that I don't see you leaving. Sure give them ice, but not your house. If you were committed to peace and giving back Occupied lands, why are you not starting with your home, in your country? Why do you leftist do-gooders also seem to take the moral high road when you are "giving away" others peoples things? You would have a lot more credibility if you also came out, at least as vocally about Dufar, Sudan, Tibet, US, Canada rather than simply picking on us. How come I you don't seem to care about women's rights in arab countries? How is it that you don't seem to mention that the arab countries came into existance at around the same time as Israel, how come Jordan is not on your occupiers list? You see what this tells me is that you really don't care about he rights of others only the age-old right of jew bashing.....oh sure, it is not about jews, but Israelis....crap and frankly, get some creds and then come back here, otherwise there is a hamas meeting right down your street that is waiting for you to take his seat.....
39. Tzipi Hotovely, you are 50% right
Nour ,   Palestine   (12.21.09)
The land is indivisible. 60 years of blood, persistent and stubborn colonization, and refusal of native to vanish, are testimony of this simple fact. Annexation is not a bad idea - so long as the resultant entity is a democratic one, with equal rights, and for all its citizens. This imples an Arab majority, and the probable name of this entity will be (surprise surprise) Palestine. Are you truly willing to attain that level of enlightenment, Hotovely? The Palestine Solution is the only solution, and it will come in the terms set by the majority.
40. to #31 Peres is president
ghostq   (12.21.09)
the president status in Israel is just symbolic one, it's not the same as president of the USA, and she is not Racist many jewish relic r on the pali side, such as the city of Jerico which palis took, also beith lechem which suppose to be chritian but the palis also took, there r more mosques than churches there. and they don't let jews any eccess to Jericho or other places they stole. the relics don't lie but palis do.
41. to #32 no let me explaine to you
ghostq   (12.21.09)
the palis borowed their name, up until the mid 80's jews were also considered palis, in every mandatory birth certificants, Hebron isn't a setelment, even though palis want that place to themselves, I personaly talked to 8th generation of jew from there and east Jerusalem there was a jewish neighborhood named Givat Simion that was established in 1869. but palis want to steal that place too. check it out, the photos don't lie but palis do. http://www.ynetnews.com/articles/0,7340,L-3819434,00.html
42. #31 Don't waste your breath BBSNews
Nour ,   Palestine   (12.21.09)
That woman is truly beyond redemption, beyond any hope. She is totally blinded by hatred and racism. To compound the problem further, she is a walking index of lies. You will regret every letter you type to her!!!
43. to #39 now it's 60???
ghostq   (12.21.09)
you palis got time problem, it's more than 60's sheesh sort selective memory, I can show you how palis tryed to kill jews in the year 1914, and that include expell jews from TA, and the arab who were peacful stayed in their homes, no Israeli will take that name cause it a curse word that Romans basicaly came up with and it documented in relics. sadly palis don't know what their name they borowed in the 80's means. I wouldn't be proud of that knowing the real sea dewellers sacrified babies to a pagan god. Israelis would like to keep the original name of the place that exist for 4000 years which is Israel.
44. #32, you mean as opposed to the war
Danny   (12.21.09)
Israel is in now? You see Jordan and Syria going head to head with the IDF? Nope neither do i. It would simply be more of the same crap.
45. William, until the Likud Charter is changed...
BBSNews ,   Charlotte, NC   (12.21.09)
...you have absolutely no business talking about anyone else's political document that reads much the same way towards the Palestinians. The legal basis for the resistance from Palestinian resistance groups stems from the brutal occupations. It is their right to resist the occupier. I can tell you that if some foreign entity tried to occupy any rural neighborhood in the United States, the result would be a cross between Magyver, the A-Team, and The French Resistance. People who are occupied and having their land and resources stolen are apt to fight back. I know Americans would. And Palestinians are no different and have no less rights than anyone else on this planet, most especially their occupiers.
46. "palestinians" have per capita of 2,000/ year. 50% want to
Jae ,   Lynn US   (12.21.09)
leave anyway. Encorage this by giving 10 years salary to each family and transfer to Jordan & arab states. 20k /family is like american family making 50 k a year and getting 500k if they move to canada. many people would do it!
47. Frank, post one thing you have done for Darfur with a link..
BBSNews ,   Charlotte, NC   (12.21.09)
...come on. You called people out. You post what you have done and then I will show you what I have done and when I started. But I digress, this article does not mention Darfur. No, in fact, Ynet English online coverage does not seem to ever mention Darfur much either. That's because Frank, we are here to discuss the idea today of Israel granting citizenship to Palestinians in the West Bank after they illegally "annex" it. Try and focus old son. Focus.
48. Nour, you might be surprised.
BBSNews ,   Charlotte, NC   (12.21.09)
49. YES, CITIZENSHIP!!!
Ali   (12.21.09)
i never thought i'd say that but that just might be the perfect solution. annex and naturalize. then normalize. but Gaza must also be given a timeframe to stop armed resistance after which Gaza is annexed too and Palestinians naturalized as citizens. believe me, those Palestinians will die to defend this new secular democracy. it's all about fairness and justice. it will be THE light unto the nations,
50. #45, news flash changed years ago
Danny   (12.21.09)
51. Democracy/Theocracy
dave ,   Europe   (12.21.09)
Israel is a failed democracy as different groups live oppressed. No civil marriage, no gay marriage, arab discrimination in the name of security, illegal settlements, corruption in the governement. Last elections 32% of the population came to vote and of these 32% only 28% was under 30 year old. Young people are uninterested in politics because every taxpayer have been cheated for years by a corrupt governement. Education is under all levels explaining why israeli's with means leave to study abroad. This Tzipi speaks of looking at alternatives. No wonder she's being slammed down here by a crowd which wants to keep everything just the same as it is. A backward religious republic ruled by corrupt warlords with transatlantic ties that keep money flowing in to keep them in office.
52. Great Idea and next elections you'd have an Arab government
Ezra ,   London   (12.21.09)
fantastic !

zionist forever   (12.21.09)
You can try & rig the electoral system to keep them from gaining to much political power but ASSUMING it can be done it won't solve problems and it would be only a tempory solution. If the new arab population which will soon become the majority if they feel underrepresented in the Knesset they will demand a change to the political system which they will probably get. Israel could legally no longer call itself a jewish state because there would be just as many if not more arabs living there if you add the palestinians in Judea & Samaria, Gaza and all over the Middle East On day 1 they will probably equal the jewish population. Then there is the fact arabs usually have more children than the average secular jew. Alliyah would proably be considered an illegal discriminatory policy and be banned. i imagine that some of the olim from the US & Europe who gave up better lives to come to Israel for ideological reasons would decide there is no need to stick around as this isn't a jewish state. All the symbols of state & the name of the country would have to change to reflect the fact that this is now a 1 man 1 vote country for Israelis & palestinians. Arab population equalling the jewish one overnight. Lower jewish birthrate No more alliyah Olim leaving Within 1 generation jews would become a shrinking minority in this new binational state. Whats left of Israel and if we were going to accept a solution like this in the end why did we spend decades fighting an dying to keep the idea of jewish state alive?
54. there is a solution that leaves everybody a winner
zionist forever   (12.21.09)
The best solution to this conflict 1) Israel annexes Judea, Samaria and Gaza. 2) The arabs can continue living there but they would be given full Jordanian citizenship so they have no say in the Israeli political system. They would be nothing more than long term resident. They could be deported back to Jordan for certain crimes but with general minor offenses they could continue living in Israel 3) This law would only apply to existing Jordanian residents. It can't be a situation where any Jordanian can come live in Israel at will. This is a long term residency permit only that they have not a right for all Jordanians to move. Their children will be Jordanian nationals but when they are adults they need to apply for a residency permit of their own which can be rejected. They don't have an automatic right to continue living here because their parents did. 4) If any Jordanian decides to sell up the Israeli government has an obligation to buy it and either set it aside as state land for jewish use or have the option to sell to the JNF. Residing in Israel as Jordanians with a special residency permit that is not something that can be inherited will allow Israel to keep all the land. Keep its jewish majority and over a number of generations the Jordanian population would shrink. It means we have an overnight solution thats just based on changing a few laws be politicians and doesn't involve removal of a single arab or jew. Within a matter of months it could all be official.
55. Why don't you annex
Paul ,   Trinidad   (12.21.09)
the USA as well while you are at it. You already control it.
56. To NOUR
Adam ,   Jerusalem, Israel   (02.17.10)
Actually, I think you'll find that the PA's stats are wrong by at least a million people. Also just because we annex the West Bank it doesn't mean we have to annex Gaza. Annexing the West Bank would give us a 30% or so Muslim minority just like Macedonia or Serbia. Binationalism would not work as it didn't in Lebanon.
