31. Pity that some people lack humanity and blame the victim

While you have been safely ensconced in Canada, Israel has been under siege since well before statehood. Have you ever been to Israel? By the way, the last I checked, the Arabs have rejected a two-state solution on each of the three occasions such a solution has been offered. They want it all -- and that is not going to happen. For the record, Israel has won all six wars which were started by the Arabs. Stupid choices on their part, but, hey -- why should the rules of military conquest in the course of fighting a defensive war be changed? No. The Palestinians are stuck with the consequences of their actions. Judea and Samaria belong to Israel. Any Arab that does not it, is free to leave. We can send them all to Canada if you wish. Maybe we should do it anyway. Given the tenor of your posts (whether as Addle or Adele), I'm sure you will welcome them with open arms, isn't that a fact?

Never been there. Who said they want it all? They turned it down as in each solution, they saw something that was potentially unfair on their behalf(ex: they're not given 100% sovereignty over East Jerusalem) . Not all wars were started by Arabs. 1948 war, Israel established on Palestinian land which caused neighboring states to go defend the Palestinians interest. Even Israel's first PM acknowledged this. "If I were an Arab leader, I would never sign an agreement with Israel. It is normal; we have taken their country. It is true God promised it to us, but how could that interest them? Our God is not theirs. There has been Anti - Semitism, the Nazis, Hitler, Auschwitz, but was that their fault ? They see but one thing: we have come and we have stolen their country. Why would they accept that?” Suez crisis was started by Israel(and were initially driven back after U.S pressure). Six Day war was also started by Israel. Yom kippur war ended in a stalemate. The rules haven't changed. Israel is occupying territory that doesn't belong to them to which the international community and international law has called upon them to leave. I'm not in favor of a Palestinian population transfer for the fact that their land is in Palestine and not Canada.

- Perhaps you should visit Israel. Although your failure to do so certainly does explain all your wildly inaccurate posts. - In 1956, Nasser closed the Straits of Tiran to Israeli commercial shipping. Under international law, that constitutes an act of war. - In late May 1967, Nasser again closed the Straits of Tiran. As in 1956, this is casus belli. Israel's strike against Egypt was therefore ratliatory. On the basis of some ridiculous claims made by Nasser, Jordan and Syria jumped into the fray. Not smart. Israel kicked their hindquarters, too. - The Yom Kippur War was scarcely a stalemate. Israeli troops crossed the Suez Canal and could easily have marched on Cairo; similarly, Israel beat back Syria to Quneitra, and could have shelled Damascus. On this occasion, King Hussein very wisely chose not to enter the war. - Adele, you know full well that under international law, a country's acquisition of non-sovereign territory while fighting a defensive war constitutes a fully-legal acquisition. However, as a courtesy, I post for your enlightenment the following: http://www.globalpolitician.com/24388-israel-jerusalem Although you would benefit from reading the treatise in its entirety, feel free to skip down to the section titled "Law on Israel's Takeover of 1967 Lands." Read both subparagraph 1 and 2 -- the first examines the issue under Security Council Resolution 242 (and confirms what I have told you that it is neither binding nor enforceable, as it was issued under Chapter Six of the United Charter, and not Chapter Seven). The second section discusses Acquisition of Non-Sovereign Land in a Defensive War and concludes that international law does not preclude Israel from retaining AND settling Judea and Samaria and, in fact, fully supports Israel’s right to do precisely that.
