1. Iran :So whats new ?
DT ,   TA Israel   (12.29.09)
Heard that one before. Of course Obama could not endure any such prospect as Israel defending itself and it's very existence. If US bases were attacked by Iran would throw Obama and his admin into meltdown.
2. Iran may attack anyway
Sidney ,   USA   (12.29.09)
When the people turn against a totalitarian country, a standard response is to start a war to rally the people to the side of the government. In the Muslim world, you win even by losing. Nasser wasn't allowed to resign after the Six Day War. On the other hand, the Czarist government would not have been toppled were it not for World War I. The tragedy would be that Israel and the people of Iran are not enemies. A lot of innocent people would be killed to maintain a Stalinist theocracy.
3. Israel may have to break it's pledge.
Bill Kandy ,   North Carolina USA   (12.29.09)
Not to be the first to introduce nuclear weapons into the Middle East.
4. Israel is the real ME bully
That's obvious   (12.29.09)
So far Israel has been the one who started all the wars in the region.
5. I Respect...
California Bear ,   Berkeley   (12.29.09)
...any country's right to self-defense. Nevertheless, I hope he understands that the first Shahab to land in a U.S. base will mean hell will be unleashed on his country, not matter who is sitting in the White House.
6. Iran's prediction
Eyal ,   USA   (12.29.09)
So what? Israel will attack Iran, Iran will respond with rockets, cause Iran's air force will be wiped out. Rockets from Lebanon and Syria will hit Israel, not Iran, cause they will be intercepted. Israel will completely put Lebanon back to the 1st century and Syria won't even know what hit them. The US will join and destroy all Government institutions within the Islamic Republic and the people of Iran will start the revolution to end the oppression. End of the story with Iran. We are making this a bigger problem than it is. Its like Saddam threatening the US before the war. No resistance, no fight, just hype. heheheh hahahah
7. #4 - So Israel launched the 1973 war itself?
William ,   Israel   (12.29.09)
I find it amazing they could convince the Syrians and Egyptians to attack Israel while Israelis prayed and fasted all day. Or then again - you could be just a pile of crap, and the truth that Arabs started every way (with Israel and each other for centuries) could be obvious. I have to hand it to you - self-inflicted blindness is often the most effective, but even the calls by the Arab League to make "jewish blood run through the streets like a river" before the Arabs attacked Israel in 1948 is pretty hard to ignore. Kudos.
8. #4 - How old are you?
Eyal ,   USA   (12.29.09)
You must be at least 15 or so. Yeh, Israel started all wars if you live in Arabia, England and some parts of Europe, but those regions are not reality, are they? Grow up and when you are man enough, start writing again, I give you permission. hehehe ahahahah hohoho
9. #4 - History Lesson
Eyal ,   USA   (12.29.09)
To the dummy that thinks he is obvious... 1948 - Israel was attacked because of its Independence, 1967 - Israel was attacked by Egypt, Jordan, Syria, 1973 - Israel was attacked by Syria, 1981 - Israel was attacked by Lebanon, 2006 - Israel was attacked by Hezbollah (kidnappings), 2008 - Israel had to stop the rockets. So how did Israel start the wars dumb ass? Just because Israel won all the wars, doesn't mean they started the wars. hehehe ahahaha hohohohh
10. Iran will counter-attack with what? Pistacchios
Gee I'm scared ,   USA   (12.29.09)
As if the Gulf States don't know that Iran's counter attack capability will be GREATLY diminished after an initial Devastating attack.
11. "Bill Kandy" and that would mean the end of Israel...
BBSNews ,   Charlotte, NC   (12.29.09)
...as it is currently constituted. You think Israel is hated the world over now? Launch a nuke and endanger US troops and interests. I swear you kooks are completely nutso. Read Anthony Cordesman's treatise on the fallout (literally) that would befall Israel upon a foolhardy nuke attack on Iran. Israel would be toast. Literally.
12. So many lies, so little time....
Mikesailor ,   Miami, FL   (12.29.09)
In 1956, Israel attacked Egypt with the collusion of France and Britain. In 1967, Israel launched a surprise attack against Egypt ( See Pearl Harbor). Even Begin admitted that was a war of choice. The attack on Lebanon in 1981 was purely a war of choice by Israel. Likewise 2006 on Lebanon and tjhe massacre in Gaza. Too many lies are spread by the zionists and everyone who points the truth out is automatically dismissed as anti-semitic. They are hasbara ( i.e. propoganda specialists). Truth means nothing to them. Of course Iran will retaliate. I would expect nothing less. Naturally that will place US forces in the region at risk. When you supply US weapons to sociopathic nation, and that nation attacks someone else, what do you expect will happen? If Obama allows Israel to attack, through US controlled airspace, the US will not be able to avoid its complicity in such an attack. The Iranian arsenals will quickly be opened and they will give arms, without preconditions, to all who will fight the Israelis and Americans. So, my question to the idiot Americans who would support an attack on Iran is: How many Americans should die for Israel? A thousand? Ten thousand? Do you think they will ever forget our duplicity? Or forgive it? If they ever really want nuclear weapons, sooner or later they wii get one. Then what happens? The cowardly Israelis would like nothing more than to have the US fight and die on their behalf. Their idea is to strike and leave the Americans to pick up the pieces and suffer the consequences. And pay for it all, both in blood and treasure. If you ever want to study Israeli duplicity, look at the Lavon affair. There they attempted to commit terrorist acts against the US with the idea of implicating Egypt. So, my advice is to watch for a replication of Lavon. And shoot down any Israeli aircraft which seeks to first-strike Iran.

Jerry Ecklor ,   United States   (12.29.09)
Won't be long now... I give it about six to eight months before the $@#* hits the fan. Time will tell.
14. Mike the Sailor Man - stay in Miami
Eyal ,   USA   (12.29.09)
heheheh, you gotta be the biggest laaahhhhhoooooozzzzzer. Let me tell you why: 1. When the decision was made to go to war in 1956, more than 100,000 soldiers were mobilized in less than 72 hours and the air force was fully operational within 43 hours. Paratroopers landed in the Sinai and Israeli forces quickly advanced unopposed toward the Suez Canal before halting in compliance with the demands of England and France. As expected, the Egyptians ignored the Anglo-French ultimatum to withdraw since they, the “victims,” were being asked to retreat from the Sinai to the west bank of the Canal while the Israelis were permitted to stay just 10 miles east of the Canal. 2. In 1967 Israel launched the war because 1,000,000 Arab soldiers were at the border ready to attack Israel dummy. 3. Yes you are right pure choice to either live with these barbaric terrorists, sub-human brothers of yours in Lebanon or die. We decided to live and wiped your brothers as we should have. 4. 2006 - your brothers come into the territory of Israel and kiddnapp our soldiers and you say Israel started it? Sorry, but you need a reality check. This is an act of war and we took it that way sucker. Get your stories together, unless you live in Iran and they tell you what you want to hear? hahahah
15. @ #12
Ravnos ,   Milw, Wi   (12.29.09)
Just to start with your first point.. Isreal, France, and Britain vs. Egypt in 1956. Do you even know the background that led to this? A simple look at the Suez crisis of 1956 would clear up your misinformaiton. To put it simply, Egypt attempted to nationalize the Suez Canal, an item which Egypt sold its shares to Britain nearly 80 years earlier because of its own debt and financial crisis in 1875. The Convention of Constantinople in 1888 declared the canal a neutral zone. All sides had their interests in the canal, but Egypt took the overstep of declaring the canal as its own, thus starting the conflict.
16. Joshua
royzer ,   bc canada   (12.29.09)
Read Joshua for a tactical lesson on how to fight your enemies Israel. God said kill every living thing, leave none to survive, that is the only way Israel will be free of it,s enemies.
17. you really want to do that, iran?
mike ,   israel (formerly usa   (12.29.09)
sure iran will kill some by striking US bases and israeli targets, but why give any reason/justification for additional painful strikes by enemies who are praying for excuse to make the iranian regime's lives more miserable than they already are? i understand the bravado and i know that the iranian regime is crazy, but please tell me they're really not that stupid. please? iran should absorb any military strike against its nuclear facilities and leave it at that. any adventurous response will only be extremely bad news, i mean WORSE, news for the shi'ite state.
18. Attack with what
Ben ,   Pitt, PA   (12.29.09)
With what is Iran going to attack the middle east? It's planes are old, outdated and cannot fly sorties outside of their own borders. It's army has been deteriorating since the Shah was deposed. It only survived the Iran Iraq War through human wave tactics. I think it is unlikely the Iranian people are as fanatic about defending the Theocracy in 2009 as there were in 1980. After some 30 years of oppressive government, I doubt the people will fight with the same tenacity that they did in the 1980s. The only real weapons Iran has are Asymetrically one. Hizballah, etc. If they unleashed these in the Middle East, I think it would be fair to say they would be crushed, especially if Iran attacks all of its enemies in the middle east. Iran can't win a war outside its borders, it is barely winning the current one within.
19. Are they that stupid?
Marty ,   Canada   (12.29.09)
.........one Russian diplomat said, "There is no LIMIT to they're stupidity."
20. # 4
Birdi ,   Israel   (12.29.09)
A word of advice to you. Open a history book before you post here. You dont know what you're talking about.
21. I'm guessing that #4 is 20 - 22 years old
Tyra ,   Lebanon, USA   (12.29.09)
Parents need to be reading through their children's books from school, they've not only stopped teaching social studies, HISTORY, and the propaganda used by Hitler, but they've also STARTED teaching by disinformation. It's getting scary in America, (I'm assuming that obvious is from America, I mean after all it looks obvious to me anyway...heeeheee)
22. To #13.... I give it less time than that.
Tyra ,   Lebanon, US   (12.29.09)
The reason.....we're on the count down now. 5770-5777 looks like God's perfect numbers for the 7 year tribulation. Iran will be on the unchosen side. What a horrific day it will be (for them because I believe their people are like anyone else, but their regime is beyond demonic)
23. so let's get this straight...
tom ,   toronto, canada   (12.30.09)
so far, the mullahcracy has publicly announced their enrichment programme, their secret lab which they didn't declare to the iaea, and they have been caught developing trigger components for nuclear weapons. and they have shown the world test flights of their ballistic missiles, which they claim can reach not only all of israel, but most of europe as well. now, if israel doesn't destroy iran's nuclear facilities first, iran will finish developing a bomb and will use its missiles to deliver it to israel. based on previous attacks, such as the scuds fired from iraq, the target will be the centre of any large israeli city, with the intention of causing maximum civilian casualties. in view of the poor targeting accuracy of such weapons (kilometres), they are useless against military targets, but deadly against defenceless civilians. the second option, if the dhimmi state of israel should dare to attack iran and destroy its nuclear facilities, iran threatens to bomb israeli cities with whatever (non-nuclear) weapons they have left. sounds to me like option 1 is far more dangerous, and will result in far more damage. option 2 not only reduces the chances of a nuclear attack, but also gives israeli civilians a chance to take cover. larijani definitely comes off sounding like a proverbial "no-brainer"...
24. Telling us what we already know
Chris   (12.30.09)
Anybody who thinks that Iran would not retaliate if Israel attacked it is mad. Of course Iran will attack Israel in retaliation! The one issue that Iran has made clear is that it treats Israel and the West as confederates. The US will be drawn into any battle that might occur because of Iran. If an attack has to be made, I am now almost certain that the US will be forced to attack Iran for its own defence. I pity the people of Iran whose lives have been put in such danger by their government.
