We have no dispute with the people of Iran. We used to be so close until the murderous regime took over. We've had Football matches and we have shared technology. I only wish they got rid of it, a thing that can solve many of the problems in the region. Peace with Iran, one can dream.
3. Peace to Iran and Israel
John ,   Boise, Idaho USA   (01.01.10)
Yes, peace on earth and goodwill to the families of Iran who seek to raise their families in accord with the intentions of God. Peace to those everywhere who seek peace and love freedom, democracy and the right to choose the good things outside of tyranny.

Yeah just like Saddam Hussein was gonna wage the mother of all wars. Iran is a paper tiger just like Iraq. 10 years of war and neither side prevailed. Not Iran. Not Iraq. How long did it take US technology and Military might to trample Iraq? 100 hours? You never ever learn do you. Tehran can't even control its own people they are revolting in the streets. Do you think the people of Iran want a fight with Israel and the West? Its laughable just like your comments.

I read israeli sites because I care for Israel.I noticed you read and express your low views and hate to Israel in different occasions. You know something, you definetively are a sad, frustrated, full of anger looser.Instead of nurturing your sick heart and brain ( you have one at least you know to write and read) with hate to the Jewish people, learn from them you idiot. Stop dreaming about the fall of Israel don't you realize that the People of Israel are eternal!!!

If I were you, I'd completely forget the notion of, not only the Iranian army marching in Tel Aviv anytime soon : I'd completely forget the notion of the Iranian army setting foot in the holy land of Eratz Yisrael ever ! If you must focus on the army of the soon to be defunct Islamic Republic of Iran, I'd keep in mind that, within 6 months, they [and the roaming bands of Basiji thugs, etc.], will have completely lost control of the streets of Teheran !, to the freedom loving masses of Iranians, particularly the most numerous younger generations, who have already unquestionably "had enough !" of the constant abuses of the irretrievably lost and confused quasi-theocracy of mullahs.

I hope this will be downplayed for their sakes. Persia's history with the Jewish people speaks for itself (& has been expressed many times in the recent past) Please pray for these people- they are fighting so hard to get their country back.
9. New Year wishes

They wished each other a good New Year and they each didn't immediately implode. See, its ok to be good to one another (even if my mistake) and you won't melt. Anything in this world is possible, even, dare I say, peace.

Many of the Iranians demonstrated on the so-called Palestine Day in favor of Israel. The Iran of the future will be a strong ally of Israel.

Palestinian Football Federation a 'good soccer year' too, and added that they are going to intervene with their government to let the Palestinian's football stadium to be finished (it is blocking it despite having approved all the building permits), and to tell their government to let the Palestinian team get together for practices, and travel to their away games without having to schedule in several days to try and get enough players to not forfeit through security.

Historian ,   Paris   (01.01.10)
Comment by the idiot Tayfun in Turkey who thinks that Sloppy inept Royal Army or Iran could even lick the boots of the IDF is laughable. The only thing they could do in Tel Aviv is buy a coffee.

This begins to get really tedious. They're talking about Iranians and Israelis. Why do feel the whole damned world has to revolve around the Palestinians...especially because their supposed misery has been self-inflicted throughout their history. Not only that, but inasmuch as there are desperate people all over the world, who are suffering genuine deprivation and horrific abuse through no fault of their own, you might want to consider sparing just a bit of your sympathy for them.

ABRAHAM ben JACOB ,   CANADA   (01.02.10)
#12..RICHARD, IF ARABS ( PALS ) STOP BOMBS & ROCKETS, THERE WOULD BE NO NEED FOR ANY CAUTION OR DELAY ON ISRAEL'S PART. IT'S HARD TO SCHEDULE FOR ANYTHING WHEN THE ( ARABS ) OR PALS AS THEY ARE SOMETIMES CALLED COMMIT ATROCITIES , BOMBINGS ETC. THERE WAS A VOLLEYBALL GAME TODAY IN PAKISTAN AND IT WAS BOMBED BY A SUICIDE BOMBER WITH EXPLOSIVE HIDDEN IN VEHICLE. 70 TO 80 PEOPLE ARE DEAD FROM THIS BOMBING IN PAKISTAN !! SOME PEOPLE TAKE SPORTS AND THEN USE IT USE IT FOR TERRIBLE RESULTS. YES, RICHARD, IN A PERFECT WORLD IT WOULD BE NICE, I KNOW, BUT SPORTS LOSES WHEN POLITICS BOMBS GET IN THE WAY. HAPPY NEW YEAR TO YOU AND BEST WISHES FOR PEACE.

so sad that the Iranian government has no sense of fair play- sports does not mix with politics, and religion does with neither. Smart people know this- what does that make the Iranian government?

It's quite encouraging to know that the sayyidin of the Iranian Football Federation are actually fellow-travellers with the opposition. This opens perspectives for Mousavi! I wish them good luck.

I once heckled one of the underground Islamist webmasters, and I think he clicked the "friend" button when he meant to hit "ban", because now I'm in his mailing list and I get emails about that group's forthcoming events every couple of weeks. I kid you not.
20. Re: New Year Wishes!!
Nebo ,   Glastonbury, USA   (01.03.10)
Happy New Year, everyone!!! Israelis, Iranians and everyone else in between!!! Clearly, people who play soccer have a better sense of fair play than silly politicians, who are mostly consumed by ego and conceit. I bet that there are Iranians who don't care who they play in a soccer game, as long as they get a chance to have some fun, and be human for a change.
21. Why can't this be a new beginning!
Brian Miller ,   Chicago, USA   (01.03.10)
This is such a heartwarming mistake! I wish the accidental show of goodwill on the part of Iran and the trepidation fiiled yet gracious response of the Israeli's could be the beginning of a new dialogue where both sides abandon hate and skepticism and move into a new era of cooperation and peace!

While I definitely agree with your sentiments, I didn't see anything in this article that would lead one to believe there was any trepidation on the part of the Israelis. However, if it turned out there was, it was probably out of a fear that there might be recriminations against the Iranian team by their own government. And that's the really sad part...that a holiday greeting between the two teams should be considered anything other than a show of friendship, and something to be encouraged rather than punished.

When I read this I was THRILLED. It shows you the people just the regular people and not the politicians want peace and want to accept each other as is. It is too bad the man who sent it was forced to say it was an error. I bet it was just a good will gesture from his heart and I applaud that and send a good will greeting for the New Year back to all Islamic people. I always say it is just too bad the situations are as they are because both cultures have much in common. Both could learn from each other. Moreover to me Middle East Islamic culture is so fascinating. I would LOVE nothing more than to view the architecture of mosques and the historical underpinnings of Islam. What stands in our way? Killing each other does nothing but create chaos and economic stagnation. We could all live together and prosper, learn from each other and help each other. How wonderful it COULD be if ONLY people could let go of anger and leaders could serve them. It serves no purpose for the people to hate and fight each other. I am going to try for the New Year not to do that and to look at all sides of issues. Happy New Year to all and at least I can hope for a better year no matter the odds against it.

Iranians, unfortunately, fear for their lives because of a corrupt leader. The PEOPLE of Iran would love to wish Israel a great New Year!

Maybe now there'll be five years of peace and no confrontation between the two countries. Of course it'll turn out to be a mistake.
