Face it, if you have someone by the . . . sensitive anatomy . . . and can twist them to your bidding, are you really going to let go? Nope! Shalit may be alive, but I fear he is destined to be a pawn for all his remaining days.
2. shalit release
marco ,   pardes hana   (01.05.10)
This was of course expected. Time for Israel to show some self respect and stop this pussy footing around. Start off by not allowing any visits whatsoever, take away ALL special priveldges to the prisoners in Israeli custody, and reduce the nutmber of prisoners to 1:1. Fair enought after all this crap that has been going on.
3. Hamas be Reasonable
Observer   (01.05.10)
I do not know before now that Hamas would also have something to gain by freeing her people in detention. if you know that, why not send aggreable list than presenting an endless list only to blame Israel for failing to agree with you.

I agree with him 100%. Hamas staged a commando raid across an internationally recognized border and kidnapped a soldier. And they are trying to make demands? At this point, Israel should tell them to go F themselves and put crazy lockdown on every single person on their list. If there is a hole to throw them into, throw them in there. No visits, lawyer or otherwise. Red Cross and public opinion be damned. Turn the screws and let the world either bring pressure on Hamas to ease up on their ludicrous demands or be exposed for the hypocrites they surely are. Shalit hasn't had it 1/100th as good as the Israeli prisoners. Time to level the playing field.
5. EVERYBODY LISTEN UP PLEASE. I AM CLOSING THIS SUBJECT...
...GONE GONE. FORGET ,   ATİLLA KARAGÖZOĞLU   (01.05.10)
MILLION TIMES I TOLD THAT. THERE WONT BE NO DEAL. WELL MY STUPID HEART ONCE FAILED TO GUESS ABOUT THYE DEAL. NOW ! I AM OUT OF THIS TALK.
6. A more realistic approach
Sarah B ,   U.S.A. / Israel   (01.05.10)
would be to tell Hamas if they return Gilad Shalit immediately, Israel will not destroy them. Face it -- all Hamas is doing is trying to pump up their international image as a legitimate government. Please do not forget that they are nothing but a terrorist organization. They have no intention of releasing Shalit, now or ever, because they will not give up their ace in the hole. All this "negotiating" and shuttle diplomacy does nothing but lend credibility to a gang of terrorists. Isn't it time to stop treating terrorists like normal negotiating partners and take the game to Hamas? If they comply, they will not be destroyed. If they do not comply -- well, they were presented with a choice. Can't say they weren't warned.
