"Economics Minister Hassan Abu Libdeh said the Western-backed Palestinian government had already confiscated $1 million worth of products, including foods, cosmetics and hardware, and the goal is to eliminate all settlement-made goods from Palestinian store shelves next year." I guess you do not read all that well, which would explain your dependence on pictures. It is the Economics Minister of the Palestine Authority that stated that food was included, not me (see the quoted portion from the article). For your information, this little act of Palestinian bravado has been extremely poorly received in the West. Palestinians are truly their own worst enemy, do you realize that? You should.
32. Polio vaccines?
Sarah B ,   U.S.A. / Israel   (01.05.10)
Both the Salk and Sabin polio vaccinations were developed by Jews. Roughly one-half of all cancer chemotherapy protocols were developed by Jews. The patent on mobile telephone technology is held by a Jew. Same thing with CAT scan and magnetic resonance imaging technology. The defibrillator and the cardiac pacemaker were invented by Paul Zoll, a Jew. Charles Ginsburg invented the videotape. Gordon Gould invented the laser. Levi Strauss invented jeans and Lazlo Biro, the ballpoint pen. If they really want to be taken seriously, I think that the Palestinians should refuse to have anything to do with anything that was invented or discovered by a Jew. What a pack of hypocrites. Then again, what can Palestinians claim? Why, the invention of terrorism, of course. How -- er, um, ah -- noble.

It's amazing how the world just don't realize that most medicines, technology, agriculture come from Israel.

38. :: Sarah B - #31 - another mistake
Matty Groves ,   Fairport   (01.05.10)
Aside from the fact that most of the inventions she mentions were created by Americans, I would like to point out another fundamental mistake she has made: Most people will know that the term 'Terrorist/Terrorism' was coined during the French Revolution, also it is fair to say that what we know generally as 'terrorism' has been perpetrated for centuries. The notion that the Palestinians 'invented terrorism' is purely idiotic, if anything the Palestinians learnt about 'terrorism' from the early Jewish Terrorist Groups eg: Haganah/Irgun/Lehi.

I'd hate to think that you didn't notice my questions on: "Create dilemmas for Hamas" Post #37 so I will repeat them: "Regardless if it was Pappe or Morris how does this lessen the fact that this is a quote from a Haganah military intelligence report?" "But speaking of the Right of Return, do you believe that all humans are entitled to basic human rights? Or do you believe that Palestinians are not entitled to the same basic human rights that Israelis enjoy?" You are not like Cynthia and Robert H are you? Are you going to ignore questions you don't like? Are you, like them, a 'one hit wonder', eg: post and run?

I'll make an extra effort to buy things MADE IN ISRAEL thanks to you. I would have supported the Israeli economy anyway, but you're actions are a motivator to go shopping on Israel websites. Keep up the good work!
43. #23 Gaza lacks products because that is what they did -burn
Rebecca ,   Modiin   (01.05.10)
When Israel pulled out of Gaza the people there burned, broke, destroyed etc everything Jews had built to produce food. Much had been bought and paid for as donations to the Gaza people - they still destroyed it. And they dont build for themselves. That's why they are starving and why Israel allows in tons of humanitarian aid daily. And the West bank will go the same way under the PA or Hamas.
44. "real presidential behaviour"
tiki ,   belgium   (01.05.10)
What a 'total mockery" this man, who calls himself PRESIDENT, makes of himself. If this were my president i would not know how to bury myself with shame. But for these idiotic people this is a "holy, honorable event. The 'Pals and their president realy deserve each other.

Sarah B ,   U.S.A. / Israel   (01.05.10)
Do not confuse the Reign of Terror with terrorism. American Jewish inventors. But since Israel has a dual identity -- Israel the land and Israel the people (remember that G-d changes Jacob's name to Israel and Jacob/Israel is the father of the twelve tribes, i.e., Jews -- there is no distinction.

observer   (01.05.10)
recognize Palestine? The UN is clear about the Two States, Jewish and Arab states, there were no mention of Israel or Palestine.
49. :: Sarah B - #45
Matty Groves ,   Fairport   (01.05.10)
I am not confusing anything you are the one that is confused on many levels: "Thousands of those hell-hounds called *Terrorists*...loose on the people" (Edmund Burke denouncing the Jacobins) Note that Edmund Burke was not a Palestinian. Clearly your silly notion of 'Palestinians claiming the invention of terrorism' is just that, silly childish nonsense. Yes, ‘American Inventors’, their religious persuasion has nothing to do with this matter. Glad you now understand.
50. Fayyad and his scoundrels
Brod ,   USA   (01.05.10)
Is this the kind of people that Israel needs to make peace with? These scoundrels do not deserve any peace. They should be shipped out to their country in Jordan.
51. ok,that's right if they think is it correct to burn
Keren ,   IL-BR   (01.05.10)
what is produced by us. But I ask,why do they allow plalis to work for us?Why do they allow them to hide in vans to death just to work in Israel? Wasn't it more coherent to pusnish palis working for Israel? They would do us a favor if they applied their "gentle"policies to punish their brothers in hate drooling to work in Israel.

Partition of the Palestine Mandate was put to vote in the General Assembly. Two states were envisioned -- one tiny Jewish state and one significantly larger Arab state. The Arabs vetoed the vote to a man and chose to go to war instead. They lost. Oops! Can't put toothpaste back into the tube, although the Arabs have twice since rejected a two-state solution. Six wars, all initiated by Arabs, all won by Israel. Just how many bites at the apple do you think the Palestinians should have? They've been their own worst enemy and I will pretty confidently guarantee that there will never be a Palestinian state (for any number of reasons, not the least of which is Palestinian intransigence and sheer stupidity). There is also the little matter of the need for all of the thirty-odd organizations each purporting to be the sole true representative of the Palestinian people to repudiate their charters, which call for the destruction of the State of Israel and the extermination and/or expulsion of the Jewish people. It will also be necessary for the Palestinian organizations to publicly acknowledge the right of the State of Israel to exist in its ancient homeland, with Jerusalem as its eternal undivided capital. Absent that -- no Palestinian state. Israel won all the wars; that has to count for something.
53. @47
Andreas Boas ,   Germany   (01.05.10)
You made my day!!! The best comment here. I guess all palestinians now will drive beside the roads. There will never be a state called "Palestine", believe me. Because there is no nation called palestinians! Facebook: Andreas Boas
54. sarah B got it right
real vision ,   usa   (01.05.10)
The palestinians do not want a state. They only want the destruction of Israel because they have never done anything that show they are committed to running a state. They have proven for 62 years they are not fit to govern one inch of land anywhere

You mean pattened by jews. A Greek discovered that vaccine in Greece and been using it way before it was pattened by a jew. Quit trying to take credit for something they didn`t do.

Greek discovery, eh? Care to provide documentation? I'd love to see some, because as nearly as I can determine, you appear to be the sole beneficiary of this item of "knowledge." Everyone -- except you, apparently -- knows that the polio vaccine in injectable form was discovered by Jonas Salk. Everyone -- except you, apparently -- knows that the oral polio vaccine was discovered by Albert Sabin. Neither of them is Greek, dear. Both Salk and Sabin were Jews. Dr. Salk was an Orthodox Jew. By the way -- Dr. Jonas Salk never patented his polio vaccine, because he believed that a preventive vaccine for such a devastating illness belonged in the public domain. Educate yourself here: http://www.cloudnet.com/~edrbsass/poliotimeline.htm
57. #55 - Yep, I've seen it too
Arthur ,   SF, CA   (01.06.10)
- my fat big Greek wedding...It's all about Greeks - right? You might add that ancient pali/fake stinians started researching vaccines in the time before Abraham..

Good post expat.
59. they will complain about lack of jobs because of Israel
zionist forever   (01.06.10)
Once they all loose their jobs because of this moral crusade and hundreds of them loose their jobs they will start moaning about lack of jobs and its all Israels fault. Whatever they think of the settlements they provide hundreds of philistines need and which can easily be filled by hiring jews from inside Israel or foreign workers. The philistines themselves are not the ones the settlements rely on to buy the bulk of their products so even if they all boycott goods made in the Yeshe it will still be business as usual its just somebody else will be filling those jobs. When they burn this stuff they are burning the money in their pockets because they are gong to loose their jobs & income.
60. Re "Matty Groves'" remark about the
Robert Haymond ,   Ashdod, Israel   (01.06.10)
Israeli economy. Armchair critics possess only book knowledge about our country. While it is true that the Charedim are mostly an economic deadweight on the state of Israel, so are Arab Israelis who also seem to get away without paying property taxes as their homes are never "completed", i.e., windows never fitted. The major drain, however, is the cost of our military and security. Over 60% of our budget is spent on associated costs. Unlike the USA, Canada or European countries, everywhere you go in Israel there are security guards with security wands, i.e., supermarkets, malls, bus depots and train stations. There are border guards and the Shin Bet (internal security) functions dynamically. All this is necessary for our safety but is also very oppressive. Israelis of all ethnic types get used to it but there are associated psychological and economic prices to pay. Aside from any idealistic (non-utililitarian) considerations with regard to peaceful relations with Palestinian Arabs, there would be security related, psychologically related and economic benefits associated with peaceful relations. Our social security system, admittedly poor, would possibly benefit as a result. For Palestinian Arabs, if Abbas continues to push the principle of boycotting Israel products, Jews residing in Samaria and Judea might stop hiring Arabs for construction related jobs and also make a concerted efforts to stop buying Arab goods. A mutual boycott would serve to hurt the burgeoning Arab economy in the disputed territories. In addition, and this may come as a surprise to many, by working and trading together, good relationships are often formed. Arabs and Sephardic Jews share a mutual cultural basis which actually serves as a means of positive associations. The opposing argument, as far as I'm concerned, is that were the Palestinian Arabs able to become more economically independent of Israel, they would become increasingly self-sufficient and better able to form their own state. At the same time, Israeli Jews would have more work choices at their disposal. It may not be obvious to most Readers who don't reside in the region but for most Israelis, including professionals, it is very hard to make a living. In short, peaceful relationships with Palestinian Arabs would be beneficial to both parties. As I see it, Palestinian Arabs must officially recognize the reality of the Jewish state as Jordan and Egypt have already done. Israel's security, very much at risk, must also be assured. In addition, Samaria and Judea must not become Judenrein. As to the needs of Palestinian Arabs, I would defer to those Arabs who possess genuine concerns for their own people. I am confident, however, that Hamas and its officials would not be the Arabs in question.
