1. its so expensive its not even a partial solution

When the interceptors are $30,000 each once the rocket attacks start becoming more regular again and the operating costs start running into the millions the government & IDF will decide its to expensive to use. They will prehaps prioritize like if a rocket is heading to a major city like Ashkelon they will shoot it down. If its a small town like Sderot thats used to the attacks they will dream up an excuse why it can't be used to protect them anymore. This is only a partial solution while the rocket attacks are not to high and so the cost of shooting them down is affordable. Money always talks louder than life in politics.
2. this is only a partial solution

"iron dome" does not provide a particularly favourable solution, where israel responds to each $100 threat with a $30,000 defence - at that price, hamas' leaders will WANT to step up rocket fire. israel must find other ways to neutralize the threat, by reinforcing buildings near the border, by retaliating consistently for each and every attack, preferably against hamas' leadership and their immediate families, by applying to international courts for war crimes charges against hamas leaders for deliberately targeting israeli civilians, and by publishing a flood of anti-hamas material in the media, exposing the racist and genocidal hate-mongers for what they are. it's only when the qassams become more of a liability than an asset, will they stop.
